Infamous saying: It takes a village to raise a child!❤
@dee7672 too bad my neighborhood is full of Christians and are absolutely disrespectful anytime they can be. I be good because I care for my fellow human, not because an imaginary friend told me to do so.
They’re keeping Paul alive, that’s for sure.
I thought the same.
they keep him well-oiled, and the son joins him to walk to his house so he'll be safe but when the son is going home, Paul joins him so he'll also be safe so after they arrive the son has to join him get back home, it's a loop that probably takes 30 minutes; a good workout .
What a wholesome neighbor .
He’s going to live a lot longer than he would’ve if he didn’t have the kids around.
I remember my grandma always saying “you guys are keeping me limber” as we ran around wrecking her house 😂
Loving grand Pa. You can’t have too many!!! The best kinds love!
Not only do the children have an honorary grandpa, but their interactions will help him live healthier and longer. Elderly loneliness is real.
Lovely comment
His wife passed but God sent these angels to look after him until he joins her on the other side!!! Damn this is beautiful 🥹🥹❤

Far from what?? You can't be far from everyone.
Or you adopt a family! 👍

True for me as well....
That's a lie. If this is was so, why is it so many hateful people in the world?
yeah
@sterlingshelton4849 for ppl who are naturally of light & love, hate is just not in us.
When I moved into my current address my daughter became attached to this elderly couple upstairs. The husband is a retired veteran and wife a retired seamstress. They are my kids grandparents for now 8 years and I am eternally grateful for them. My kids both run into their arms and say grandpa and grandma with the biggest smile everyday to them.
Family does not always have to be blood related. My best friends children call me Uncle and my best friend is like a brother to me. Would never change that for anything.

I adopted my 80 something next door neighbor, buy shoveling her snow and giving her extra food and household supplies that I have! She's a hoot!❤❤

This is what God calls us to do is love each other. "Love thy neighbor as thy self" What a blessing for everyone
The epitome of that statement!!! This is the Lord's work!
Aww he walked him back across the street 😊 this is so sweet
The same thing happened to my father, before he died. After my mom died, my father a Jamaican lived alone in their family home in Florida. On the opposite side of the street was a young American white couple with their kids. They loved my father so much, they practically adopted him.The kids loved to spend time with him.The parents regularly brought him meals, took him to the doctor, go for walks with him etc.Unfortunately, us, his own adult kids were living too far away in other states.I was living in Italy at the time. When the parents called me and told me that I needed to come soon because he was in his last days, I immediately boarded a flight.Fortunately I arrived just in time.Thank you Michelle and Beau! Your love and care will forever stay in my heart.
That’s beautiful! I’m so glad God brought them together
My question is why weren’t you there to be with your father tho and left him all alone ? I’m glad the family stepped up ❤and adopted him as grandpa he had someone to check up on him and really cared for him
@@RAINBOW-lx6wddid you even read where she stated that she lived in Italy and her father lived in Florida? Not exactly a 30min drive.
@@yvettecarpenter2284 Okay! Like with my daddy, he wouldn't come live with us because my mom's memory was in his house and her grave. Even I flew home several times a year just to go to her grave and more to see daddy, the kids spent one summer month with him annually, but he ultimately still lived alone in a big house. Lots of reasons we cannot be there, my husband required me to go with him for his job.

It’s easy to love, it’s hard to hate. Paul is a beautiful man. Those children must bring him so much joy.
Unfortunately I wish that was true. For some people it's the other way around. I'm glad that it's true for him
She has the cutest kids, I'm glad they were so welcoming him into their family.
How is it hard 😅look at history look at what's going around the world now. If love was common this wouldn't have even made the news. Open your eyes
nah its pretty easy to do both
Easy on the soul.

Angels are everywhere
Y'all have a heart of gold God bless your entire family.
I love how the older generation knows their neighbors. This is old school. ❤
I've lived @10 states in ye US other countries I always make sure I know my neighbors. When I was younger people didn't move as much as jobs were more secure. As I got older it was just meeting new people and now ya need to also know for security reasons sadly enough. I'm also a people person. If I don't see someone for awhile I worry about them especially seniors. I'm 65 now but the world has not taken away my joy of meeting someone new. I also smile and say hello to the homeless person on the street. It doesn't cost a dime to acknowledge and possibly make someone's day. They !ay be down on their luck but they are still our fellow citizens.
@agl5132 that's a very sweet way to live. I am also a people person, I make conversation with others in the check out line. I think covid and all the new technology has ruined the youths ability to communicate with each other. People skills are integral to life. I am a mother now and I try to be as aware of my surroundings and neighbors as possible. It's not nosy, it's necessary! Lol please take care, and continue spreading the kindness. Ps- I married an introvert, go figure 😄
I think we need a little bit more of some old fashioned love and kindness that we seem to put away because we are too busy doing everything else
Yea, they love that segregation. That was old too
old school for Americans perhaps... any country I've lived in everyone knows their neighbors, regardless of age.
What a beautiful story. Brought tears to my eyes. Why can’t we all be like this?
❤️❤️❤️
Because most white people are mean 😢except for for this neighborhood ❤❤
Amen 🙏😊
Same , really beautiful bond of neighbours. God bless them ❤
Sadly everything in america nowadays is about race.
Sounds like some good parents to me
Just imagine if it was like this all over the world. I'm glad they are also raising their children right. We need more parents/neighbors like this.
The fact that we don’t see stories like this often is sad…
Yes. I think these kinds of connections are forged all the time, though - they just don't make the news because it isn't scandalous or sensational. I guess most news sites assume we would rather read about carjackings or domestic disputes?
How is it sad? Pretty sure there's lots of cases like these, not everyone posts their lives online and not everyone wants a news segment about their personal lives put on tv. Just because you dont see it, doesn't mean it's not happening
I pleasantly suspect there are millions of such unreported gestures......but its a beautiful story
I do actually. Focus sis! Tweak that algorithm lol
Because this kind of story will cause unity.
“Children are precious” yup & so are our senior citizens 🫶🏽💕💕

The children walked him home to made sure he made it safe, he turns around and walks them back to make sure they are safe. That moved me to tears! So beautiful ❤

When the little kids want to hug you, you know that's their grandpa.
her reaching her little hand out for him at the end🥹 precious
Or Pawpaw as we say in the South.😉😉😉❤❤❤
This is the era that I grew up in. We adopted our older neighbors and made them part of the family. They watched us while we played and gave a feeling of security. No anxiety, no social awkwardness. The parents talked to one another and helped one another. Grandparents who did not have biological family near by had village families. We were blessed.
That’s beautiful, man. 🍻
It takes a village!❤️🔥❤️🔥
Good times. We didn't lock our doors. People laughed. People loved. People were connected. Golden years...
Yes. Our older neighbor kept an eye on all of us. I didn't know until she passed, and everyone had a card with a copy of their key returned. Everyone trusted her that much.
There absolutely was anxiety, social awkwardness, depression, crime, hate and pain in every era. Rose colored glasses don't change facts, they just make ppl forget. All those things existed, the only difference now is they're openly discussed and help is now available. Let's stop acting like the world used to be perfect because it never was
Proof that there are still kind people in the world.
You have a special place in Heaven waiting for you.

Paul is so sweet ❤🥹. My family moved to a neighborhood where we were the only Black family and we had a neighbor like Paul. Ms. Melba ❤ she lived next door. We would share our gardens 🥰 . I would go over to house to talk… I’ve always loved talking to the elderly… I was 7 years old going to go play with Ms. Melba. Her son worked for a snack company and when he came to visit her he found out she had a little friend 😁, he started bringing me bags of snacks… I couldn’t believe it ❤🥹🥰 I was thankful ☺️. I remember all the kids asking me why I got those snacks,… at that time I didn’t really know why… but as I got older I realized that I was the only child that visited her house just to talk and play 😊. My parents and Ms. Melba shared gardens ❤. No one else on our block talked to Ms Melba …. She was my first friend in my new neighborhood Thank you Ms Melba ❤ love u 😘
Awe 😭😭 That's amazing. I Love it. Where I work there are a lot of elderly people who come and just sit all day just to have connections with the world and they tell me every day how much they enjoy me just talking to them because when they go home they are alone, no wife, husband and or kids. Reminds me of this qoute I love “ I love nearly everyone I have ever met”
I have been blessed that over the past few years, I have been the "adopted" dad of my neighbour's children. Her husband died, tragically, leaving her with young children. His last words to me were to beg me to watch over his family, which I have done.
Although people are used to it now, at first I would get😮 strange looks, they are British Asian, I am white. I've tried to do what their own father would have done, advising them as they grew, helping with homework, telling them off if necessary, and so on.
A while ago, next-door had a workman in. He stood and watched as I was spending time with the children, then came up and said, "This is amazing! Those children are going to remember you all of their lives." I felt so proud at that moment, I felt like a dad.
I'm thankful that I live in an area that still upholds the importance of community, of caring, and of a willingness to go the extra mile for your neighbours.
Stop it... This is literally what I needed today. People love to just disregard the elderly because sometimes it's tough to try and slow down so they can keep up, be it mentally or physically. These people are making sure his glory years arent filled with loneliness, but filled with the love that comes with a family.
I love how he said “you get many chances to talk to people. If you don’t take a chance, you may miss a friend you would have had.”
That’s how I see the world too. I try and talk to as many strangers as I can. Sometimes I make their day and it makes me happy. Go and strike up a conversation at the waiter or the grocery shop. It really makes your day too ☺️
so true ❤
that is right
That’s was really awesome wasn’t it. Such a true perspective!
This reminds me so much of our neighbor Alice an old black woman we, my siblings and i cared alot for we were little but still remember her everyime we saw her we ran to say hello she would bring a piece of candy or something to give us she was so lovely kind hearted. She lived alone with llike 6 dogs. Sometimes when she got sick we visited her took her flowers or just to see if she may needed something. I remember every Sunday she would dress up to go to church looking so elegant. It was like that for many years untill she passed away 😭. We still have a picture of her in my moms house. I miss her i wish i would have been older to get to know her better.
Great story😊

I usually like to keep my space with neighbors but in this situation paul seems like a nice guy and hes older and alone so probably wouldn't mind it.
I would love to have a grandparent to love on. This is super cool.
Elderly people make me happy...like kids
This is what true love between people of the world looks like. They didn’t have to do that for him but cared enough about him to let him into their family and stay, that’s real appreciation and love
I love this. One thing I have noticed in my life is that most people are not as bad as you think. A smile and a simple "Hello. How are you doing today?" is often all it takes to get the ball rolling. We live in a world where many of us are scared of each other, so we brace ourselves for tough interactions from the start. A little gentleness goes a longggg way ❤
I agree. Every time I go for a walk and say hello to my neighbors, I feel better about humanity. And why do we think people are worse then they are? Often because the news always focuses on the worst of us, not the best.
I think the media wants us to believe that certain races hate others, it is not true. Most people are like this family and the elderly man in the video, we just want peace in our lives. Stay sweet and kind, it will keep you happy!
Seriously!
@@paanne1013right. People complain so much about how they are treated, but sometimes its like are you complaining about something on TV or something that personally happened to you. Like hel
@@TheSpawnycatNot only that. We don’t trust people because we know they can use you for their selfish benefit. I only had one set of grandparents and lost them when they were rather young, but do have wonderful memories of them growing up. We learn so much from them, so sorry you missed out on that.
