All rodents have this problem - if for whatever reason they don't constantly chew and wear away at their teeth, or their teeth get damaged and lose alignment, they'll get like this and it's basically a death sentence after a certain point because at first they can't eat, and in the end their teeth can even pierce their mouth and cause an infection. Happens to some birds as well (their beaks grow indefinitely too, just like rodent teeth)
Yes, it takes a good heart, what a lovely little video (the squirrel talk was hilarious!) - she certainly saved his life. The editor of this video needs a great big fat smooch on their face - great job! I can't imagine how they caught caught that thing, those little critters operate at the speed of light.

We rescued a nearly dead baby squirrel when I was a kid. When he was strong and healthy, we tried to set him free, but he wouldn’t go. He eventually got to the point where he would go run around on tree limbs. But if we started to go inside, he would run down and jump on our shoulders. He just wanted to be part of our family. Even our cats loved him. We’d see them sleeping together sometimes. His favorite thing was climbing up our pant legs and curling up behind our knees for a warm nap. He loved sleeping there. It tickled and scratched, but it was worth it. ❤ Thank you for helping this little one. He wasn’t happy, but he knew you were helping. ❤ ❤❤

I had a rabbit whose teeth would grow out of control like that and about every 3 months, I would take him to the vet to have the cut off like that. I’m pretty sure his Jaw was dislocated because he was in a cage with another rabbit for a while, but we separated them when they started fighting. Shortly after that his teeth started to grow. Basically his top and bottom teeth didn’t meet so they would grind. He also didn’t really like to chew like other rabbits so that didn’t help keep his teeth down either. Now both him and our old vet have passed on. I miss them both greatly. He was a great rabbit to have, and the vet was an amazing and caring vet in our little community.

Засунуть зверюшку в носок - это гениально! У меня был карликовый кролик с неправильным прикусом и мне приходилось каждый месяц проводить такую же операцию. Однажды я потеряла бдительность и он ужарил меня задними лапами. А там у него когти длиннющие. Я успела отшатнуться, но одним когтем он попал мне внутрь ноздри. Крови было ужас сколько. Нос затампонировали бинтом, но сквозь него кровь еще часа 4 сочилась. Так что техника безопасности нужна даже с мелкими зверюшками 😊

I had a squirrel for 12 years with this same problem. My vet trimmed his teeth at no cost all those years because I saved & took care of the little guy.❤️

Rodents actually have to grind their teeth down or they get overgrown (although this one has a condition). So im assuming they don't have nerve endings in their teeth like we do, or at least they're very short and don't run along the whole tooth 😅

I had 2 in my life , the city came and cut a big oak tree in my alley in my back yard and the nest fell , they had very lil hair (fur) so we bottle fed em , had to wet there bottoms to use the bathroom , when they got full grown I could let them out their big dome cage we built for them and let them run around in the one tree I had in my backyard and you could call them and they would comeback to me run around on me then I would take corn on the cob through it in their cage and they would go right back in their lil box houses we built for them , pet squirrels are fun

Rodents actually have to grind their teeth down or they get overgrown (although this one has a condition). So im assuming they don't have nerve endings in their teeth like we do, or at least they're very short and don't run along the whole tooth 😅
I just lifted these boys up in prayer in Jesus name. I want the very best for them. Such intelligent and perceptive boys. They areAMAZING.

It makes hairline fractures in the teeth and now the squirrel can’t term it’s own teeth at all.
Use a file for the squirrel’s health.

I had 2 in my life , the city came and cut a big oak tree in my alley in my back yard and the nest fell , they had very lil hair (fur) so we bottle fed em , had to wet there bottoms to use the bathroom , when they got full grown I could let them out their big dome cage we built for them and let them run around in the one tree I had in my backyard and you could call them and they would comeback to me run around on me then I would take corn on the cob through it in their cage and they would go right back in their lil box houses we built for them , pet squirrels are fun
