Stay human? In the City, it's easier said than done.
Based on the best-selling video game series, Dying Light: The Board Game sees 1-4 players assume the roles of Runners-daredevils trying to outlive the end of civilization in the post-apocalyptic setting of Villedor, the last human outpost on Earth. There, they have to work together to survive wave after wave of the unrelenting, zombie-like Infected.
While maintaining an intuitive and easy to learn ruleset, the game aspires to provide a fresh take on the survival genre, offering both cooperative and true solo experiences. It boasts a sprawling, modular city map with spectacular 3D structures, interactive aids and hazards, an original, adrenaline-fueled parkour and combat system, a menagerie of ghastly enemies, and an impactful day and night cycle. Spicing things up is a dynamic narrative that sees the players struggling to stay on the good side of the different factions running the city, forcing them to swiftly adapt to newly revealed threats and rapidly shifting alliances.

5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
1.0 - A game that is just bad.

Alex, you always kill it. Great shout! Hope we get to hang a bit at Gencon!
Really seems to capture the essence of the video game quite well from what you have there. Definitely going on the wishlist
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised how it doesn't just feel like another zombie game
Love your vids! 🔥 How does it differ from The Walking Dead: All Out War miniatures game? Was out of print but just came back to life (no pun intended;) again a few weeks ago too
From what I’ve seen they have added a windmill expansion to the game which the figure looks cool. In my head what they could add in an expansion to further make it feel like dying light could be a dark zone expansion have 4 different dark zone scenarios with own boards and terrain to achieve rare loot pickups or mission key items. I think that could be a cool thing to add.
May I ask for more details about the replayability? Because here's my situation. My game boards are for my friends. We usually play it for a night; just have fun, and then put it away. Then maybe we'll take it out again in a few months. Do you think it's possible with this game or is playing through the scenarios of the campaign really something you have to do?
They are actively working on adding one-shot missions that can be played in a single session.
That warp is on par with the D.E.I tiles.
Yes but prototype
This game looks incredible on the table and I think it looks fun. Unfortunately I don't think it's going to be for me, even though I love the IP. The 3D terrain is gonna lead to a probably-too-long setup and who knows how much storage space. Looks awesome though.
From what I’ve seen the terrain is easily dismantled and flat packed for east storage into original box
oh dang, no squirrels! :D
Thank you for the video Alex! I am really happy that you find that the game brings a fresh breeze into zombie-games genre.
Yeah, I was very surprised how it doesn't Just feel like another typical zombie game
Wow that is some seriously warped cardboard (player boards)!
Lol yes but prototype
I'm between this one and Stalker. Which one would you recommend more?
Oooh....stalker i think... But I got more time with that one
Thanks for the reply Alex. If you don't mind me asking, what are some of the reasons you prefer Stalker over Dying Light? Thanks for explaining further! @@BoardGameCo
It sounds like a better version of Zombicide.
I mean personally, I'm still here for zomicide over this 🙂 but at least this stands out as different
looks really cool, but a shame that scenarios impact the following one, means you need the same people for every game
Yep, it could make it a game not for you
Hmm I don’t think I need another zombie game.
I recognise all the words as English, and grammatically they seem to make a sentence, but somehow I just can't comprehend what you wrote.
LOL
