- In this Special #KingdomComeDeliverance armor guide video, i rank the six best suits of complete plate armor from Kingdom Come Deliverance. This guide is a quantitative list that shows the best suit of armor based on their AAR or Average Armor Rating. This list has been updated to reflect changes in the armor for the game since the Amorous Adventures of the Bold Sir Hans Capon DLC, Tournament Mode, and of course the Band of Bastards DLC. #WarhorseStudios

I love the armor system of KCD. A lot of people overlook how excellent it is. Being able to layer it like this is something that many of us wanted for years, and I never cease to appreciate it.
agree i love it but is a little bugy in a visual way
Exanima existing since 2013:...
Not to mention how realistic it is. Plate armor has goof slash protection, and puncture, the mail helps with piercing, and your heavy fabrics act as padding for blunt damage
@@zaikolebolsh5724💪💪💪
Kenshi has a better armor system. What the point in multilayering if you have only 1 "under armor" kit. Also why "heavier" armor is lighter than "lighter armor" half legs, literally half, only the top part of the leg and full plate legs...
i never realise Kermit was a KCD fan !!!
From the beginning, and until the end.
I just want him to start a video with hi-ho everyone

Zoul armor is so OP. I returned to Rattay in it to tell sir Radzig the job has been done. I was a bit disappointed that he didnt freak out thinking that i was Zoul himself. Missed chance by WH imo.
Yeah, it would have been great if Radzig would have reacted to that.
@@Dare_To_Game yes is sad that they put reaction to the vendor but the main characters dont give a daam is you go naked
Agreed, I use the zoul helmet with Milanese armor for everything else, it's not as op so it makes it a little more challenging especially if you don't wear combat jackets or anything over your curias, and it looks really cool because every piece you have on is steel with gold trim.
@@intoxicatedandslighlyfaded534 i use it with augsburg pauldrons, magdeburg greaves a decorated cuirass, and warhorse waffenrock and gauntlets.
All of that with decorated mail.
It may not be meta but im good enough to do style over meta.
If only they make the visor equipped helmets the ability to open and close the helmets. Lifting the visor helmets increase the field of view but leaves a large weak spot to enemy attack to your face. Closing the visor will fully protect your face but will dramatically reduce your field of view.
I too wish we had the option to raise/lower the visor on these helmets.
@Johnny Eclectic war of the roses had this exact feature. You could Press V to move your visor at any time
@Johnny Eclectic that's weird, in some cutscenes i still had the helmet
yes is stange and you can see that when you draw your weapon you have an effect that henry low the mask part if the helmet have it, but is only an visual effect if you talk whit somebody he have the mask part low all the time is like the game developer forgot to add the physical effect but left the visual effect, is strange that he never lift the mask and weir that he talk like this
It should be
Helmet up when not in combat and when talking
Ability to put it down and when speaking muffles your voice a bit for effect 😂
But I agree. Should be able to switch it.
I thought we were keeping the Lords of Leipa visor bug as a secret, never to be mentioned to Warhorse for fear of a patch ;-)
Yeah, but apparently it was patched. I haven't confirmed yet, but someone commented earlier that it was patched.
There should be no secrets among friends ;)

I like to wear a combat jacket with the Zoul armor, just because Zoul was Radzig’s enemy. It would seem weird to carry his coat of arms.
I just pop the warhorse waffenrock over it.
Kong Deffer
And here I am thinking that you wear the jacket because it adds a lot of armour 😂
@@Celisar1 yeah i use the blue one for the armour hehehe
I wear a waffenrock of wichever faction I am currently representing (doing a quest for). Skalitz/Radzig, Rattay/Hanush or Talmberg/Divish.
*SPOILER*
Actually the House of Zoul are distant relatives to Sir Radzig so I like to pretend Henry adopted the Coat of Arms as his own since after Radzig's execution of the family Hagen was the only survivor of the noble family. So after you kill Hagen the coat of arms was just gonna cease to exist anyways so since Henry is Radzigs son (and realistically should have Radzigs coat of arms) I just roleplay that Zoul is Henry's house and that Pribyslavitz is the new home of the Zoul family. It works for me since it doesn't kill the immersion for me and I can still run with Zoul colors and not feel bad, plus I use it to justify Radzig not having a reaction to it lol like he'd rather see me in the coat of arms. Plus not gonna lie I love the color blue and I think the coat of arms is pretty badass to have my noble Henry riding around in!(:
To All new players.. My Advice...choose Nuremberg or Magdenburg Armors. Trust the Deutsche Steel. And Brigandie Red Armor. This Armor is Good For Mobility. If you experience encounter a Cuman leader He use Brigandie Type Armor. You can See how he Became a Mobile Fighter ..if you put a Fight To him.
A sound suggestion.
@@Dare_To_Game nice Video Dude.. 👌
Awesome video. I figured it was only a matter of time before we got this video. I figured the new Zoul Armor would be great, but i wasnt sure how great. Now i know.
Yeah, when i first saw it, i was thinking...that very well may be the best suit of armor in the game, and sure enough.
Fantastic compilation here of all the best plate armors. I really like that you did this. Great Job.
Glad you liked it. Thanks.
Thanks for the video man! For over a year I was wondering when someone would make a video like this. I love the different varieties but wish there was more
Same, i wish there was more variety. I am hoping that when official mod tolls are released, we will see much more variety.
I believe they fixed the Lords of Leipa hounskull visor effect in the latest patch. So now you do get the effect
Damn, that was the best thing about that helmet.
@@Dare_To_Game I always use this armor and unfortunately they did. I always thought they didn't add the visor vision due to the size of the eye holes, but I guess I was wrong.
Damn, and I thought I will be using high stats helmets from now. I guess it's back to cheap, but not limiting vision.
A brigandine is indeed classified as plate armour. They are multiple small plates riveted to leather and fabric the plates are on the inside rather than the outside. They usually give as much protection as a cuirass but with more mobility.
ehh, yes and no. it is made of multiple steel plates however it doesnt provide as much protection as a single solid plate or an upper and lower plate that overlap. go check out tods workshop here on youtube, he tests longbow velocity against properly made brigandine and it completely destroys it. he also tests longbows against steel breastplates and they deflect right off. that is a longbow however, and the power behind those shots is just insane. in a melee though, the brigandine would indeed provide supreme protection.
i know in the video hes shooting longbow arrows from a modern day crossbow, but the test is still accurate because the crossbow is shooting the arrows at the same velocity a medieval longbow would. he does this because he said he cant properly shoot a longbow. its extremely difficult and only people who have been practicing their entire life can shoot longbows with a high poundage thats meant for war effectively
Bro honestly I am thankful that you had the add in the end!
I just play with whatever looks the most aesthetically pleasing in game. Min maxing takes the fun out of it for me
Yeah, i usually just make an outfit that looks legit, and fit it to what i am doing.
@Sam Bowling Alley yes, when i in the city (in ratay most the time) i use a noble outfit that i stole from the apprentice of the monastery lord that is fixing the building, whit my sword, the same when i go whit Theresa, and when i am in a city but in a mission i take off all the head gear, the bow and the shield
Fashion souls over everything!!!
@@gavinwalker4901 Hell yeah!
For the Milanese armour, there is an Italian helmet you can buy for a lot, and Milan is in Italy, so yeah.

I was making Ghost buster's references throughout the whole DLC, and nobody caught it. Awesome comment.
Nice video, Sir Kermit of Henson.
Thats a quality comment, and whats more you used my official title.
I thought it was the honourable thing to do to leave my fallen enemy in peace and not loot his body after the duel, and now I find out I'm missing out on the best armour in the game... Damn.
Just realized you sound like kermit once i seen your YT pic . Really great video, thanks
I like your KC:D videos so be aware that because of that i subscribed to you right now. 👍
Glad you like them.
Man I'm really starting to get hooked on your KCD video series! One small piece of input on this video though:
Arching Bascinet should not be included as a set with the Milanese armor suit as it is of the Gothic (German) variety. Suitable Helmets to complete the Milanese armor set would be either the Italian Bascinet or the Hounskull (as the Hounskull style visor was used both in the Gothic and the Italian style of Armor craft).
How do you calculate AAR and also thanks for the vid
great clip thanks :D
Your welcome.
For the warhorse armour there is actually a 'warhorse gambeson'.
And a waffenrock, I think
What do you get for matching sets? I go with wathever offers the highest stats.
There is no some armour from thumbnail so....
I like how you embrace that you sound like kermit
Hey I wanted to ask
What is the armor at the right corner on the thumbnail?
My favorite combination too rock consists of the dark padded coif, yellow arming doublet, green nobleman hose, nobles coif, long noble haubark, mail chausses, arching bascinet, magdeburg plate pauldrons, magdeburg chausses, the Nurembergian cuirass and sometimes the cuffed combat jupin if i feel like it. I also find this to be the highest custom AAR and it makes you look like an absolute tank.
Great videos.
just realized you misses a BUNCH of warhorse pieces. Waffenrock, padded chausses, etc.
4:10 you can add to it the italian bascinet so it is fully same componets
I was feeling bad about the constant thought of Kermit during the presentation because I didn't mean it disparagingly but I couldn't stop hearing Kermit the frog. What a relief to see the terminator kermit at the end, lol...
yeah, i've come to accept the fact that i sound like kermit.
I use Zoul Arm and Leg plates, with Nuremberg cuiras and nobleman's gauntlets ... I am a tank !...Actualy the Lord of Lepia Hornskull no longer let you have your full vision, they change it... a peaty, it was great!
Yeah, tha does sound like a great setup. And yes, sadly it appears that they have patched my favorite thing about that helmet.

Hi, how do u have 100 in Ur melee stats?? I have the Saint George's sword, which has slash and stab stats of 72, but I have them improved to 85 in my melee stats. So can I get them higher? I have 20 strength, agility of 14 and 15 for vitality.
Which armour is on the very right of the thubnail since i cant see them very well on video
I was just simply watching the armour suits when suddenly I look to the bottom left and i see 3.6M groschen. Rip my 29k groschen that stole from all those Rattay homes. 😥😥😥

I can’t imagine medieval knight wandering the town wearing more than 50kg armor. Then accidentally fell to the river
imagine Fredrick Barbarossa...that happened to him...so they say...but usually knights had no problems standing up after falling down, today soldiers have 40kg of equipment on their back while knights had 50 kg scattered across their whole body
ua-cam.com/video/qzTwBQniLSc/v-deo.html
Just for yourself or anyone else who happens across this comment: medieval plate doesn't weigh 50 kilograms. It typically weighs somewhere between 15-25kg or 33-55 pounds. The 50kg plate that people refer to is special tournament armour used for jousting and was intended to give the maximum amount of protection. The stuff people would have used on the battlefield was generally equivalent in weight to what modern soldiers carry.
@@harris6062 yes, imagine use a 50kg armour in battle your died more quickly that going naked
@@frankomarkusic5912 Depends where you fell. If you fell into the mud you probably stayed there. Thats how hussites defeated crusaders in dryed out lake. Butcher by light weight kids with rocks.
Lords of Leipa is my favorite armor in the game but I do wear the generic visorless bascinet
Long hauberk should cover the doublet
I was anxious walking into Rattay in my Cuman armor, but nobody batted an eyelash. I'm wondering how much Cuman gear Henry actually has to wear to fool the Cumans? I've got enough Cuman costume for nearly every slot but the stats are not as good as Henry's current set.
This game is so addicting. It’s definitely in my top 3 rpgs along with fallout new Vegas and the Witcher 3
I agree but I have Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines in that list. I never got to play the mod DB patch version which is the recommended one as I didn't know how to do it and by the time I figured it out the laptop crapped out with an update that said it was now obsolete and then it killed itself.
I personally prefer the bell shaped kettle helmet; less charisma/vision reduction. Not to mention I have the “claustrophobic” buff for Hardcore Mode
I honestly prefer open face visors. The risk of taking an arrow or stab to the face is worth it to me
a lot of the times i rock an open face helmet, just for visibility sake. I get it.
Harold Godwinson dislikes this comment.
'I was a king of england once,
Till i took an arrow to the face.'
Your opinion is your opinion and I have no right to influence it, but personally I use closed helms because extra protection why not, and when I get into a fight, I don't even notice the visibility reduction.
@@kalumbailey5103 henry the fifth was also shot in the face right below his left eye. thats an amazing story of how they pulled that arrow head out. its actually accurate for a commander to have his visor up in battle because he needs to be able to survey the field and shout commands
Btw, doesn't the warhorse armor come with a gambason on too?
yes it do, i just kept the base layer the same for all the suits in this video so all the stats would be more accurately comparable.
I've just binge watched this channel in regards to this game and I have to say, I'll never hear the name of this game in any other way than when this dude says it 🤣😎👍
Glad you like the videos, if for nothing else than how i say Kingdom Come Deliverance.
@@Dare_To_Game Cheers for replying, yes very helpful for getting me into KCD 😌 dropped ya a sub 😎
is it worth putting the doublet over the armor?
so how do you add up the ARR so i can look at my own armor? which numbers are you adding?
The AAR is all of the stats for each category added together, and then divided by four.
@@Dare_To_Game Ah alright man thanks for info ^^
This game is a masterpiece but one thing that bugs me is the armor unlocks being kind of all over the place. the treasure maps should give the better armor than the tourney. The tourney is so easy once you unlock master strikes. its free groschen at that point. it's gonna be so interesting to see what changes they make for the sequel.
My preference is Magdeburg gauntlets and curaiss with Zoul arms legs and helmet. Looks really good.
Yeah, thats a good combo.
You are right Milanese has only a slightly better armor rating. But (for some reason) it seems to make less noise and is less conspicuous. (or that is just me I dunno).
yeah, i noticed that too.
My favourite helmet is the Houndskull
I wish there was a sallet style helmet for the Nuremberg armor set. I also wish it had a decorated variant.
I too wish they had a Sallet helmet in this game. Its one of my all time favorite helmets.
Unfortunately - sallets are too modern for this game - thats why it isnt there. They could add some early sallets which looked rather like more elaborate kettle hats.
Whats that armor on the full left of thumbnail?
milanese i believe.
i wish we could pick some pieces from divish or hanush
Zoul armor is also the lightest of all!
Just so you know the warhorse cuirass is brigandine armor as well
Brigandine is a type of plate armor, along with coats of plates.
Nope. Brigandine is a composite armor.
I love the house of zoul armor. I wish it's what you'd look like when wearing waffenrocks over armor, but instead you just look like you gain 20 pounds.
I agree, thats the primary reason i never wear waffenrocks in KCD.
You forgot long noble hauberk, which is the same but covers more of the body
i use that i like more
Will they add gothic armor as shown on loading screens?
I think we are done with official content from Warhorse for this game, but i think we will get some mods that will offer all sorts of new stuff.
About as likely as an M48 patton appearing in a ww1 game I'd say
in the warhorse set, why not set why not use long noble hauberk instead so it covers the gambeson
Wait, but the warhorse armor is also a brigantine, so why would you include that if you aren’t including brigandines?
If you guys into fashionable shiny knight:
Any helmet you like
Magdeburg cuirass
Ausburg paudron
Magdeburg or Noble gauntlets
Ausburg plate chausses is the hardest to get. Replacable with any other, i prefer noble shoes with any chausses
Good set
Must you have the house of zol dlc to get armor
What is that armor on the farthest left?
Where can I get the Magdeburg armor?
Where can i get the stuff from the base layer i cant find the traders for that
Enemies, treasure chests or stealing from people.
it will be cool if henry if you use a helmet that cover your face, when you dont have a weapon in hand the face plate is open, the funny part is that when you draw your weapon you have an effect that henry low the mask part if the helmet have it but is only an visual effect if you talk whit somebody he have the mask part low all the time is like the game developer forgot to add the physical effect but left the visual effect, is strange that he never lift the mask and weir that he talk like this
The warhorse chainmail is part if the warhorse armor though...
Are you able to wear a different waffenrock over the zoul cuirass?
Yes
Legit thought you were doing a Kermit the frog impression. I want your voice
Nope, all natural.
Where did you get that milanese brigandie is not plate armor? Ofcourse it is a palte armor what else would it be?
Game thinks all brigandines are light armor...
You made me buy the DLC
I play on PC (steam) how do you rotate henry on the Menu? Also i dont have the skip time option
the K and L keys
@@Dare_To_Game thank you !
Zoul is actually Phineas in disguise, helmet gives it all away though. Next dlc includes his evil Mastermind brother Ferb.
and dont forget the crazy German Doc Doofenshmirtz
I went with Long Noble Hauberk instead of Short Noble Hauberk. The stats are the same but a history buff I like claimed body armor should be long enough to cover the crotch. I also chose Dyed Bavarian gambeson over Decorated arming doublet. The gambeson has zero Noise while the doublet has 40 Noise. The other stats are close enough.
What about Milan brigandine? It sould be top 2
Just wish there were jousting heavy armor. Especially for horseback. And or swordbreaker pauldrons and ir Scandanavian Greatswords.
I agree, i wish the knightly combat in tournaments would have been more well fleshed out.
@@Dare_To_Game i feel like a jousting heavily armed tank of a knight, everytime bandits or cumans try to team up on me. And my Henry is on horseback with his St. George George longsword. I ride far, and charge at them thrusting them one by one. Sure kill every 1 or 2 hits. You know, like in Skalitz, after you become bailiff. Or on the road, ambushes. Sometimes 6 to 7 bandits or cumans at a time? Yeah, I love killing them on my horse.
Why not go for the Italian helmet for the Milanese set?
Because i decided when doing this video to use the best unclaimed helmet for sets that needed one, and since the Warhorse Helmet and the ZOul Helmet were already taken, that makes the Arching Bascinet the best helmet in the game, so to keep the stats comparable across the board, i chose to use the arching bascinet for any suit that needed a helmet.
@@Dare_To_Game Reasonable. I am just more of a style before functionality guy haha
A helmet with stats values of 25 can be found at one of the interesting sites.
I think its the arching bascinet.
@@Dare_To_Game you are right; it is. i checked the game meanwhile and realized: i mixed something up.
By the way: do you have or know a guide for the best armour equipment for unvisibilty and noise reduction?
Thanks Kermit!
you"re welcome.
i use now the zoul armor and before this a use the chest plate that your father give you and for the legs and arms i use the noble plate pieces that i loot it from dead man whit the same base armour things but whit the chain mail whit arms i like that more
I got number one the hamlet not mine favorite but I think I replaced the leg and arm armor and added a Jacket.
Close though. I usually make mine just good enough, and lookin good.
I actually hated this game in the begining but with time i've got gud and with understanding the combat mechanic i finally saw the fun this game has to offer. It has really the best Armor system i have ever seen in any game and i hope a second part of this game comes out.
The milanese brigandine is platemail that just has been covered with a cloth or leather.
maybe the game model is, but Brigandines are not "full" plate armor. instead of 2 solid plates (to allow for bending at the waist, a single piece is just a chestplate and doesn't cover the abdomen) it is made up of dozens of smaller plates. similar to lamelar or scale, except they are riveted (rather than woven) on the inside of the fabric/leather rather than the outside.
@@MFenix206 yes but the game model is based upon an embroider covered plate cuirass.
Stupid question... How to rotate Henry model in inventory view? :D
on PC its the "K" and "L" buttons.
@@Dare_To_Game Thank You :)

How do you get the zoul armor
Do the "Band of Bastards" DLC, and at the end, kill or knock out and loot the main antagonist.
How exactly do you find the aar?
Its just an averaged out calculation for all of the damage resistance stats.
@@Dare_To_Game If I did it right then my armor rating is 135.
Really thought the Augsburg was no.1 Ofcourse I haven't played the band of bastards DLC yet. I think you did this before. But time for a mix and match video. Get the highest possible AAR of all the armor.
the thing is, the Zoul Armor is best. It has the best part or tied for the best for each piece.
Wdym you can change your clothes?
Just started playing, quick question, does having a complete armor set of all the same pieces do more then individual good pieces combined together?
Nothing more than looking like they go together. If you want the best suit, you are better off just picking the best pieces to maximize stats.
NO SPOILER :
Since I have a Band Of Bastards DLC, I have the best armor in game and its full set. When there is bossfight, and u win, you can take the leader's full plate armor. Its the best armor i've found.
