Today on the Hermitcraft Minecraft SMP, we judge our first court case and bring smiles and joy to everyone on the server. As a side note, I've never worked harder on a video and I feel like I could spend weeks more on this one. It might not hit for you. Some parts still disagree with me but it was a great learning process and I cant express how much I appreciate your willingness to join me on the journey of becoming a better content creator.

Let's take a moment to appreciate that Bdubs had to go in and record like 10 different perspectives in replay mod, then properly sync the audio, then edit the video to look like it's cut for a tv show. Not to mention the actual gameplay, build time, ideation, and collaborative logistics necessary for this content to even happen. The amount of editing for this video is monumental, and the logistics of producing this kind of content are impressive. It really pays off in the quality of this video. Hats off, Bdbus. Amazing episode!

I've been going around watching all of the courhouse POVs, and I don't know how but Bdubs has managed to make a COMPLETELY different experience than the uncut POVs. Like the ominous music of the Heads or Tails machine, the little judge commentaries sprinkled in, the camera zooms, it feels like I'm genuinely watching a courtroom reality TV show and I love it-
"You can't... sue... snails. But I'll do it."
Of course you can sue a snail. You just need to get the snails to hire a lawyer.

I think you can represent yourself in arbitration

as a certified paralegal, i can confirm that most of this courtroom scene is accurate. Skizz did a wonderful job at setting the scene and using the *mostly* correct language. excellent job!
You can absolutely tell how much time and effort has gone into the editing of this. It's clever, it's funny, and it flows perfectly. Artfully done, Bdubs, this is absolutely something you can take pride in.
Dont' take this as me saying you should be rushing off to the next project already, but I do hope to see more of these trials. I would especially love to see the case of Scar v. the Snails (and Big Ron? Mumbo?), or perhaps something involving Cub? He sued Pearl to get her to build the shopping district portal, and has clearly realised that he can use the power of the court to his advantage. I bet you get him to sue other people and make a case out of that too.
Now, I wouldn't mind watching a "Scar vs Snails/Big Ron" court case episode. And perhaps the court shoud... Appoint... legal representation to the snails. Let's say for instance, Grian and Gem? (Scar might consider hiring Skizz, he's the best lawyer around at the moment it seems.)
I think hermitcraft should implement the if Big Ron is on your build, you should be responsible for the lawsuit.
Surely there are a couple of hermits that act in loco parentis for the snails...
Grian and Gem could serve as Public Defenders, which are the free lawyers you can request if you're broke and can't afford a lawyer.

This right here is why "watching the same events from multiple viewpoints" is an integral part of the Hermitcraft Experience. You got Cleo and Doc for the pov of prosecution and defendant, of course, then you have the Joe Hills Difference™ of being _in_ the courtroom audience, and now we get the "shot for broadcast TV" version with an episode of _Tall Claims Court,_ which was well worth the wait. I don't think it was a language barrier, maybe a subconscious suggestion, Doc is quite proficient with his phrasal verbs and idioms. As a non-native English speaker, I wish I was as natural as him

I have played minecraft for 1000s of hours over 13 years. I have never once seen a mob walk through an armor stand and set a world record for fastest costume change.
I think the skeleton shot an arrow at the Armour stand and it broke and that allowed the skeleton ro do the costume change so fast lol

Doc saying the audience pressured him into going with pearl, when that audience was overwhelmingly telling him not to do it.
The production quality of this was absolutely superb. The subtle details from Bdubs' blinks, the muffled voices behind the doors, the slight echo everyone's audio had as if they were in a large empty room. Absolutely stand up job!
This is actually so well edited. It feels more polished than most TV shows.
Although, it does have the effect of sometimes making the player skins feel.. eerie and out of place.. like at 21:20 when I accidentally paused on "BEEF!" and BEEF! stared directly into my soul.

It's not a Bdubs and Scar video without their immediate deaths within the first minute of them meeting. lol
If you watch at 1:55 the skeletons are fighting each other and one misses and hits the armor stand, which breaks it. The gargoyle skelly then walked through the pile of armor and did the fastest Suit Up known to man 😄

I'm calling it. Bdubs has been stealing docs diamond redstone ore because he knows doc would go insane and, well, do what doc does when he's angry. All in order to convince people to sue him when that eventually happens. It's all part of bdubs' plan to create his own court house TV show. Nailed it.

The cinematographic techniques that Bdubs deploys throughout his videos are a breath of fresh air. His Minecraft content exhibits a huge amount of playfulness and innovation. It is unlike anything else I've seen. The editing in this video, paired with Bdubs' incredible sense of humor and immense love for the game, approaches perfection.
Totally worth the wait. I know you were stressing about it but it’s truly fantastic.
If you put on an elytra, it's gonna look like you're wearing a judge's cape. Better yet, you can retexture it to look like one
I've already seen multiple Hermits' videos of the court case but this was so unique and fresh. Really enjoyed the editing. Don't know how you keep doing it but once again you outdid yourself. I'll probably rewatch this episode many more times in the future.
the narration, storytelling element, and editing in this episode is so beautiful and smooth- i feel like i’m actually watching a show/movie. the cutaways to your character, kind of like The Office sidebars, are also perfect.

What a season of metamorphosis this has been.
Grian has picked up redstone and has created a government instead of resisting it;
Mumbo does a 180 and becomes a building UA-camr;
Pearl becomes a redstone master in the span of 3 episodes;
Bdubs, instead of choosing a puppet government of his liking, decided to drop the act and *BECOME* the power weilder.
And meanwhile, Doc. The same inhumanely petty goat-god with insane technical skill.

I feel like Joe could've predicated the whole case on the fact that Cleo had no attachment nor ownership over that pig instead of predicating it over Doc being a big baby

Bdubs should have Cleo make an armor stand of bdubs holding a bell like a town crier and under it have a skulk sensor that detects people and sets off a record with bdubs saying “free suin’ papers! Get your free suin’ papers here!” And a bell that repeatedly goes off for the duration of the disk! That would go perfect outside the courthouse next to the barrel and anvil!
Edit: Maybe even add a couple through the shopping district and outside the permit office
