How the hell you all stumbled upon such a random, underrated, under appreciated Band like this is beyond me. I’ve been a fan for years. Thank you for covering this.
The bartender and the thief is their best song from their 2nd album, however, as a whole, their 1st album is the best. A thousand trees is a great opener to any debut album.
One of the best bands to come out of Wales, but the one you’ve gotta check out (also a Welsh band) is Manic Street Preachers, one of rocks true giants ❤️
@@kypdur4746 Stating a personal opinion as quantifiable fact? Ah...the internet....don't ya just fukken hate it? Both are great bands IN MY OPINION (see, _that's_ how it works).
I have been lucky enough to see them twice here in Vancouver and while the stadium looks great seeing them in a very nice club with a couple hundred people - WOW. Its called The Commodore Ballroom.
Stereophonics - "A thousand trees" is gold. That would be a good reaction. Saw them live about 17-19 years ago, free ticket. so good. Best welsh band (with " Manic street preachers")
I live about 40 mins away from where the stereophonics grew up and formed. They certainly put Wales on the map. Feeling proud! Glad I found this page too. Loving the videos 👍 keep em coming 👌
You guys have to watch Muse - Knights of Cydonia (live in Rome). As a one off performance (I never thought they quite hit the heights of oasis) it absolutely blows away anything you've watched so far.
Check out they’re set at transmt 2018. They were phenomenal and the Glasgow crowd were crazy. Kelly’s voice was perfect from from beginning to end ❤️❤️
Kelly Jones is the singer. His voice is instantly recognisable. He can sing rock - listen to some of the covers of say Gimme Shelter by Rolling Stones, I saw her Standing There by The Beatles but then he has a stunning voice singing slower or more acoustic he's performed My Girl, Help Me Make it Through the night. They did a cover of Handbags and Gladrags and has been regularly been compared to rod Stewart. He's the sort of person who could sing the phonebook and sound amazing!
Yes please, more Stereophonics. Local Boy in a Photograph is so moving but still fast paced and one where you should use the lyrics I think. It's from their debut album where all of the songs are depicting people and life in the area where they're from in South Wales. This song, because it's moving could or should be more of a ballad but they've upped the tempo for a reason and that makes it so much more poignant which you will hear when you know the lyrics.
I think the stereophonics are like rod stewart and the faces. Very good strong vocals and class guitars. You should hear handbags and gladrags from them.
If you want a banging live version of this, check out their TRNSMT performance from a sun soaked gig in Glasgow, a Scotland. Same gig crowd as Gerry Cinnamon.
Stereophonics my favourite band, seen them live 7 times and always put on a great show, another great band to listen out for and from my neck of the woods in Ayrshire Scotland are Biffy clyro, they are absolutely brilliant too, please look them up too, u won't be disappointed.
One of the best live UK bands, check out Local Boy in a Photograph or Mr & Mrs Smith. Kelly Jones has written some amazing songs and deserves more credit for his writing
i have been wanting to suggest you check out " U2 - Under A Blood Red Sky " from Red Rocks. search for the songs Gloria or Sunday Bloody Sunday in youtube. This is early U2...1981 I believe and Bono's voice is incredible and The Edge's guitar is epic and Adam Clayton bass lines are killer. Bono is a true front man... with a mullett no less...
Tuuuunnnee! Gents pulling out another classic from across the pond, proper gem!, had the pleasure to witness these legends bust this tune out a few times live.... the proper bollox every time! Right out the ball park!
The drummer was in a Stereophonics tribute band when they discovered him. The original drummer had left the band and had died of a drug problem. By the way they are a Welsh band from the valleys north of Newport.
Pulp - Common People (Reading 2011)…please!!! Unbelievably good live performance, the way they play the crowd at the end is MAGIC. *Pulp* were one of the early runners in Britain's Brit-Pop era.
we are an underrated country with AMAZING MUSIC , Best Welsh band although i love Manic street preachers too another band u should check out songs like A deisgn for life, Motorcycle Empytiness
Really like it that you mix up the live stuff with the studio versions. You might enjoy Dizzee Rascal vs Nirvana, Stand Up Tall live on Jools Holland - great live performance.
Seen a few comments here already saying you guys should check out Manic Street Preachers, and I would like to join them. You guys should check out Manic Street Preachers. Seriously, they're really bloody good.
Good tune. The natural step from Stereophonics is to Manic Street Preachers. Try Design for Life, live preferably. 👍 While you're on the 'phonics though, check out their Morfa Stadium gig. It's phenomenal.
Indian summer…. Fly like an eagle…. Handbags and gladrags.. sooo many good songs . Best band I’ve seen by a mile America you don’t know what ya missing.
Great reaction to Stereophonics. Kelly Jones has a fantastic voice. Madame Helga is a great rocker. Bartender And The Thief This Life Ain't Easy C'est La Vie. I Wanna Get Lost With You. Local Boy In A Photograph - sad song Kelly wrote about a young lad he knew who committed suicide. Cover of The Beatles I Saw Her Standing There. Kelly's solo- Help Me Make It Through The Night My Girl
I saw Kelly Jones solo in San Fran when I was there on holiday, 2001, he told me and my mate to fuck off to the bar and get another drink which was fair enough as we kept shouting ratatouille between songs, the folly of youth!
Any song from Stereophonics is a good choice. They are still going strong! If you want to start from the beginning I can suggest "A Thousand Trees" and "Local Boy In The Photograph" from their debut album back in 1997. "The Bartender And The Thief" and "I Wouldn't Believe Your Radio" from their second album. Since 1997 up until today they have released 11 albums (and a greatest hits album). They will release their 12th album in 2022 called "Oochya!". Stereophonics started out as a 3 piece band with Kelly Jones on vocals/guitar, Richard Jones (no relations' to Kelly) on bass and Stuart Cable on drums. Stuart was kicked out of the band when touring with their 4th album. It was said he wasn't that interested in touring and there was some turbulence between the band members. They later became friends again but sadly Stuart Cable died in 2010. A studio session drummer Javier Weyler was drumming on the recordings of their 5th album and ended up as a band member for 8 years before he quit to focus on his own band. Jamie Morrison joined Stereophonics as their drummer in 2012 and seems like a good fit for the band. Adam Zindani on guitar joined Stereophonics in 2007 as a touring guitarist but has along the way ended up as a permanent member of the band. Kelly Jones (singer/guitarist and main songwriter) has said in interviews he is a big fan of The Black Crowes so no wonder you can hear some influences from them in some of Stereophonics songs.
Guys please do "Bartender and the Thief" and "A Thousand Trees", they're fantastic songs. Also "More Life in a Tramps Vest" :D Not enough people doing Stereophonics old stuff :D
Werchter is a flemish (dutch speaking) town in Belgium, 3O minutes away from the Stella Artois brewery, if that makes more sense :) Glad you like the Stereophonics! They are the best :) My first gig of them in Werchter was in '99, have seen them about 60 times ... and more... lost counting :s
The video for their song White Lies shows how awesome their lives shows really are, and not just at a festival. Also, Mr and Mrs smith live in Cardiff is a great one by them... especially if you like the dope drummer
Love your videos the boys. You've rekindled my love for a lot of these bands you've covered that I hadn't listened to for years. Try out oasis playing Colombia at the Glasgow barrowlands if you haven't already. Also try the Verve and lucky man. Don't know any specific live versions but the official video is amazing.

You like Stereophonics and Black Crows? Well why not react to them playing together! The did a duo of "Twice as Hard" on the Jools Holland show. Its fckn superb!

Local Boy in the Photograph is a banger!!
Traffic live at morfa 10/10
Definitely do Local Boy In The Photograph and A Thousand Trees
Love their old stuff. They were fantastic in Cardiff Castle when they were just starting to be big
I concur 🤣
Thousand Trees is a tune
@@clairec1267 check out Cardiff castle or morfa stadium.
@@l67-u1u I remember the castle gig in the late 90s was fantastic
The thing about the Welsh is, there’s about 3 million of them and they all can sing well! I say this as an Englishman.
Yes....Yes we can.
Yes sir!
Iawn
To say all can is ridiculous
Huge gangs of tough sinewy men roam the valleys terrifying people with their close harmony singing
The bartender and the thief is their best song from their 2nd album, however, as a whole, their 1st album is the best. A thousand trees is a great opener to any debut album.
Their first album is one of their worst
Ry your bang on mate 👌🏻👍🏻
local boy in a photograph is a top song
Thousands trees for me
Their first album is the worst. No idea why people rave about it. Respectable debut, nothing more
These guys grew up literally down the road from me so nice to see a reaction to them and seeing them play in front of thousands of people. Great stuff
“Bartender & The Thief” is an awesome video
One of the best bands to come out of Wales, but the one you’ve gotta check out (also a Welsh band) is Manic Street Preachers, one of rocks true giants ❤️
Motor cycle emptiness is a banger
Super Furry Animals, the best Welsh band.

Have seen this band 18 times live and their songwriting improves album after album and 20 years on they are an awesome stadium love act
I have been lucky enough to see them twice here in Vancouver and while the stadium looks great seeing them in a very nice club with a couple hundred people - WOW. Its called The Commodore Ballroom.
A live performance of Dakota gives me goosebumps every time!
@ALTA VITAM I have to agree, in fact Local Boy even more so!
Kelly Jones (stereophonics frontman) joined the black crows to do twice as hard. You should check that out
Stereophonics - "A thousand trees" is gold. That would be a good reaction. Saw them live about 17-19 years ago, free ticket. so good. Best welsh band (with " Manic street preachers")
Great choice
Feeder are great too
Best welsh band ?? In my mind they are best british band
And Local Boy in a Photograph too.

bartender and the thief and just looking are bangers
If you want more Phonics live, I would suggest one of their home gigs in Wales, maybe Cardiff Castle? Banging!!
Stereophonics are one of the best! Class band from Wales. Kelly Jones has such a wonderful voice and his cherry SG is sexy - so is he lol!

Its about a mate of mine from school. He died on the railways tracks in our hometown of Aberdare, which is where the phonics are from.
I think the stereophonics are like rod stewart and the faces. Very good strong vocals and class guitars. You should hear handbags and gladrags from them.
The Courteeners "What took you so long" and "Not nineteen forever"
Anything from the old Trafford gig

Lyrics man mainly, but the music came easy as well. And they were once supported by a little known Scottish act called Texas.
