- Here's a short video on the combination tools used with the Vickers machine gun. It's a simple tool carried in every spare parts case. There are few variations but the functions are largely the same. Rich also shows the 'muzzle attachment spanner' that seems to have been used with aircraft guns or by armourers. If you've got a Vickers MG, you'll want to know how to use the tools.

Hello Richard, thanks for the video. I own the MK I* tool.
My assumption was, that the grooves in the handle still had a function, but that was probably not the case. Obviously just to reduce weight. Greetings from Germany.
They could be used to unscrew the filler plugs when hot but that’s not in the manual.

@@vickersmg I love this insider knowledge that isn't found in any books. PS: The holes on the left side of the barrel jacket on the MG42 also serve as a bottle opener. 😉👍
