One of my favorite songs written by two of my favorite composers, Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays. Besides Diane Reeves and Pat Metheny, I think that I see Christian McBride on bass, Zakir Hussein on percussion and Kendrick Scott on drums. This is a beautiful performance by an all star band.
Music redeem us from all the ugly things happening at this country right now,we are loosing our humanity in the name of power and dominance ,we supposed to be better than that !
For fans of the PMG who may tend to agree with you might say ..... Pat had changed the arrangements to cater to Reeves, this was a reduced, stripped down, underpowered and lesser rendition of a monumental piece. The magic of Lyle Mays, R.I.P, was absent. Pat did not have his guitar going through a synthesizer. Diana Reeves was not up to the styling and technique required of this song. I have seen Pat live several times and have worn out his albums. I think he was told to accommodate Diana and he tried, to less than stellar results. This was a DEI command performance at Obama's Whitehouse in early 2016, he was told what to do and you can see the result as you so aptly described.
@@jaydouglas5847 thx for explaining. I've seen several different singers performing with Pat and it was great (Anna Maria Jopek for example) so that one here was a huge disappointment.
@@Polones12 Wow....someone was so "offended" by my comment that it was taken down. I guess that some folks think that ideas that differ are offensive and that they must take action to banish , censor and remove thoughts that they feel offend them. I would recommend that they should first vanquish the dragons eating at the dryer lint of their oh so fragile ego's.

Belle rencontre, trop rare.
Pat Metheny and Dianne Reeves made both art and music with this performance. Sheer joy!
This is probably the best 2 minutes and 40 seconds of my life. The song is so full of life. I've watched many times over.
What a treat. I didn't even know this existed.
This what America really is 🙏🏽✌🏽
