I do not understand how an instructional video titled, “Ballet 101”, could leave out third position.
They say: "Third position is used at a beginner level to get to fifth". I'm not sure how often you use 3rd position. But we rarely do.
@@Lisa-hw8ur Well I went to my first ballet class today and we used it a lot. The teacher basically told is that is was a good way to avoid crushing your toes when you’re starting with some exercises
@@chamallow989 Did you not read the comment? It is used at a BEGINNER level to get to fifth. That's the whole reason you're doing third position, the moment you stop being a beginner you will never ever in your ballet-career use third position unless you're injured and then only so you can get back to fifth.
🤣
@@theAbsurdLogician Yes. But '101' is the designation given to the BEGINNING of a course. Call it 'Advanced foot positions' if you're just going to skip the beginner stuff.
I started taking lessons at 34.
And me at 31! :)
I m 40 and i want to start
How could they leave out 3rd position?
They did?
I always teach third cause I feel so bad it's left out. I also teach the insignificant as they say 6th position cause I don't want any positions to be left out and have hurt feeling 😂
Apparently it's not used anymore -- it is considered to be "training wheels" for fifth position.
I really want to know what song is this
I think it’s absent by redspecks
How in the fresh hell do you do 5th
Your heal of your front foot goes to the ball of your back foot, hope this helps
I’m so happy that dude shaved his armpits.
real😂😂
Ballet 101 but you skip 3rd, which is crucial for 101.
"WATER!" "HOOOOK"
0 comments? 😂😂😂
Looks beautiful but also painful.
Can’t imagine anyone does this beyond age 30
its not meant to hurt actually. all basic ballet positions should be done to a natural en dehors (turnout) actually there is a large community for adults dancers, not only learning ballet. 🙂
I went to an adult ballet class and there were people from 18 to over 60. It was my first time and the 60 year old lady looked much more gracious than me.
I'm 28 and I had my first ever lesson today :D everything hurts but it was fun!
Taking ballet for the first time at 30
