I'm learning how to drive for the first time in Korea. My instructors don't speak English and I don't speak Korean fluently so these videos are a lifesaver😂
I just wanna say in 2024 these videos are a life saver!! You go into the nitty gritty of things that every beginner needs. Thank you Chris! Hopefully I get to do a lesson with you soon 👌🏽
thanks for talking about the responsiveness of the accelerator pedal! many videos fail to mention this and it is the best indicator of if you're in the right gear.
Brilliant instructor. Carefully explained, with great clarity step by step guidance in this video like each and every of your videos I viewed, couple of days before ''UPGRADE'' from over 20 years old Full Automatic driving License to Manual License. I had 2 lessons (for three hours) before taking my test and with partly your guide, I PASSED the test, yesterday. Thanks and keep up the good and helpful work

You change gears when you reach 5000rpm and when slowing down you slam it from 6thgear straight to 3rth and when you reach 35km/h, you slam the first gear in for maximum speed and power
What about pulling up on the left. If i'm going say 25mph in 3rd gear and need to pull up on the left, do I need to slow down and go to gear 2 and then 1 and then stop, or do I just use the brake, still in 3rd gear and with the clutch pressed down to stop stalling?
@@worlddriving thanks for that and for replying so fast! I failed many tests about 15 years ago and am now about to start lessons again soon! One last crack at it!! Feel like i've forgotten literally everything and went out yesterday on the roads with someone and felt like a COMPLETE beginner. Humbling!!
After I change a gear can I add gas and in the same time release the clutch or I must release the clutch all the way and than adding gas as you explaine in the video? Greetings from Serbia!
Hi! The simplest way to change gear is shown in the video but if you want to change gear quicker or if the car jerks when you change gear then try pressing the gas slightly just before the clutch is fully released. Hello . How are you. In this video while on a high way i saw you changed from 3rd to 5th gear AND i was wondering why didn't you change to 4th gear? Or its all fine to go from 3rd to 5th when the speed is high. Please your reply would be appreciated . Thank you

Hey kids; The R Is for RACE MODE when you're on the highway and wanna go bit quicker slam the accelerator all the way down then engage the clutch and put her in R. YOU'RE WELCOME
Hi! Good point but this particular video is aimed at beginner, learner drivers just starting. Next step though is 'rev matching' found on this video ua-cam.com/video/pHhdmb1jrFo/v-deo.html
Manual transmission is for poor people in poor countries who can only afford small engines. These days, Automatic transmission is more efficient, more reliable, and less maintenance like e-CVT in hybrid, or regular Aisin or ZF Torque converter 6,8, or 10 speeds. No clutch, no belt, just fluid change every 100k miles or 160k Km. Don't get stupid DCT (dual clutch automated manual transmission). It still needs expensive clutch replacement and many cases new robot unit/mechatronics.
@dnomyarakunawik38 manual is for poor people who cannot afford efficient automatic transmission with no wear maintenance parts like clutch and pressure plate. Manual is for poor 3rd world countries

Great 👌
So lets say you are about to stop at a security post which has a boom gate which you press to open, should you stop in gear
God bless you Chris
thanks a lot.
Manual is the best option... Gives you more control in overspending fails
Do you press the accelerator a little as you bring the clutch pedal back up slowly or does that burn the clutch?
.is it possible to skip gears without having any consequences?
Skipping gears is good as long as long you're driving at the correct speed for that gear :)
Thank you
Thanks for watching 👍
I respect your driving skills, love and respect from India brother 🔥👍💯btw where r u from ?
Thanks very much. From the UK :)
I'm dyslexic have issues with right and left that arm wrist I now get but feels so abnormal.
Is it okay if we shift gear from 3 to 1 direct or we have to lower it accordingly
Slow down to a speed suitable for 1st and then you can change from 3rd to 1st :)
Thank u

It's ok to 'block' gear change as long as you're at the right speed. A lot of drivers do it changing down. For example 3rd to 1st and skip 2nd. 🙂

So you can't go from the 5th gear to the 3rd ? !! Or is it possible?
Yes you can but slow down first.
Great
Not even 14 mate and I’m watching it 😂
Same
Can we directly go for 5 to 2 when the speed is low or due we have to always go from 5432
Slow down then change to an appropriate gear :)

Hi friend.I watching your video from Bangladesh.
Thanks for watching from Bangladesh 👍
Do you get faulted for driving with one hand on the wheel for the entire test
The examiner wants to see that you're in full control. Driving constantly one handed would result in a fail.
