God that OUTFIT, I'm dying over here at how stunning it is. The pattern, the sleeves, the colours, everything! Also loving the light behind the chair, very fun to have seen it a few videos ago ;)
I really like organizing stuff during my time off but only when I'm in the mood and feel motivated. I'd say don't make it a goal for your time off but if you're feeling it, definitely go for it! I find that I organize stuff more when I'm stressed about it being unorganized, so I guess it also depends on whether the way it is now is stressful to you or not
Being fussy and vegetarian is getting so much easier! Potato waffles with beans and veggie sausages is my go-to comfort food. Things like chicken nuggets are just as good if you go vegetarian. There's usually a way to veganize what you're already eating, so maybe look at doing that a few times a week?
I'm the introvert in an introvert-extrovert couple, and it's true, the needing to be alone is a totally loving, not a resenting thing. Also, take the time off. Mark out another few days or a week off the calendar for the research notes sometime.
My nephew saw me watching this (he's 3) and said "is that my friend?" And I was like "I'm sure she would love to be your friend. Her name is Hannah" and he smiles and says "oh! Hannah! Yeah" it was so sweet
Notion is perfect for connecting information! I highly recommend looking further into their database and link features. As a fellow organisation nerd, I can not stop swooning over Notion and its usability! (Even pointed my professor towards it after she asked for advise on organising projects)
As an advocate of notion - I think what notion will give you is an answer for your love of spreadsheets as well as the need to connect all the dots. BUT! Roam is really great for research, it really is, that's what it's all about. I recommend to see a couple videos on notion (specifically ones that talk about how to use it a a researcher and to save notes fro books and stuff). My love of notion is for the very user friendly and kinda visual thinker style they have. But I appreciate roam for their style in terms of how it works well with a very wordy type of content. Also - actually sound like a great idea to do this on your time off because you don't have to do it in any specific pace, you can just sit down and have fun with it, let your mind wonder between the ideas. Sounds amazing.
Love hearing how different people feel about their books. In general, I buy my books for no more that £2 at charity shops, fold the corners, drop them in the bath then give them away or take them to another charity shop when I have read them. I do, however, have a small shelf of my fancy books - illustrated HP, signed vintage books and the Famous Five Survival Guide that I would be very sad about dropping in the bath 😂😂
I’m loving seeing so much of your face in my recommended because of Vlognukah! Your goal videos are such motivation to me, look forward to them at the end of every year!
I think you should take the two week break and then make a series for this channel about organizing your research. That way you can do both. I would totally watch those.
This is one of those videos I always look forward to on your channel! I think it'll be incredibly interesting to look back on yearly goal this year because of the pandemic and I truly hope it will make us all collectively realise it's not the end of the world if we didn't achieve certain things, that we're still alive and breathing and that's the most important thing. Your videos have been one of the main sources of entertainment and joy for me during this hell of a year, so thank you and congratulations for managing a lot of these (especially the introvert/extrovert confined in the same space for several months!!!)
Dan needing to be left alone is so relatable and that idea of giving him a week alone sounds perfect XD I'm already planning post-pandemic travels and while my whole family wants to go out and travel I'm trying to figure out either how to send them all on a trip and be blissfully alone or how to go on one of those trips by myself and again, be blissfully alone
I was just about to go on a rant in the comments about how great Notion is, but you interrupted me just in time! Getting to know a new organisational tool is always a lot of fun, maybe even enough to be considered a holiday occupation?
this year really changed my perspectives on goal setting because now I look back at some of the things I wanted to do in January for 2020 and realise they wouldn't have been fulfilling anyway, they were goals society wanted me to do - instead the goals I had that I never thought would happen (because I was too scared/nervous about them) starting happening this year because I had a little more time for them and became more confident with myself - loved this video Hannah :)
I always plan just quarterly goals because that is a smaller chunk of time and even in 2020, setting goals for a 3 month time period is too long so I might make monthly goals.
This was so motivational and inspiring! I’m planning to use the holidays to write down all of my reflections of 2020 and goals for 2021 :) About the “taking a break from work” - it’s the influencer curse, isn’t it? Because what’s work? Technically going on Instagram could be considered work for you, right? I’d say do just the things during your break that you really, really want to do and have fun doing, that aren’t stressful and it should count as a break haha
I recently started using Roam Research but just using the daily notes function. If you're comfortable with very basic coding, Zettlr is a free version to also have a Zettelkasten system.
I literally set myself 3 goals for 2020 1. Get married - not when we planned and definitely not how we planned but tick! 2. Get pregnant. I actually got pregnant on NYE so got ahead on that one 😂 3. Apply for drama school. I have had to push this one back to next October as I had an emergency csection so couldn't recover quick enough to complete the dance auditions safely. This turned out to be a positive as my daughter has been very poorly and I could never have focused on anything except getting her milk allergy diagnosed, plus I had a uterine infection so it's all been a lot. Next year she'll be 1 and she'll be 2 when I go so that seems better anyway honestly. Loving reading how everyone got on this year and watching this video - please be kind to yourself if you didn't achieve your goals, what a bloody year.
I love that you two know and acknowledge your different opposing/supporting needs for space/activity! So important and and healthy, as well as being something that so many people think is proof that something is wrong with them or their relationship. Also: Take that break! Maybe start the note issue by just putting any new research or notes in there. Don't make it an instant-must-complete-all-at-once project.
Oh i can feel what you said about wanting to be entertained by your introverted boyfriend... I am kind of an introvert as well, but I definitely want to do more activities together, than he does (he loves to just chill a lot of the time). Sometimes it is difficult for me to not take it personal, and to remember that he still likes my presence and time that we spend together, he just does not need it as much as I do. I think it is great how you deal with this disparity and that you seem to manage to not take it personal :) Also, there is an app called obsidian for note taking, it connects different stuff graphically which looks fancy :)
You did amazing with both your chanels this year. 👏🏻🥳 You should also know/add to your achievements this year that you have been an amazing support for me during the pandemic and I am so (extra) grateful for you and your videos this year. Thank you for staying on youtube during a extremly though year. 🙏🏻♥️
take the time off and devote a couple weekends in the new year to compiling notes! you’ll be grateful you took the time off and the weekends is only for a very short period of time.
Take the break! ...but if you're going to do some of this "work" work, then I would suggest limiting it to part of that 2.5 weeks only, or a max number of hours per day! So you still have protected "vacation" time in there as well to ensure you feel the relaxation and rejuvenation that was intended!
Take that break! But also, maybe you can plan a week where you don't have a lot of other work things, to do like a week or two of focused "note taking organisation work"...
i’ve been watching for years but never subscribed to the newsletter as for some reason I always thought it cost money... just realised it’s free so have subscribed! ✨
2 -1/2 weeks off so that’s 18 days so if you have the 2 weeks off as free, personal time then the 4 days of the half week you could use as a buffer or re-set time to get all the work stuff that you wouldn’t normally have time for in a normal day and because it’s over 4 days it means you can spread it out so it doesn’t feel like your working 🤷🏻♀️😋 just a thought 😂😂 I had the same problem over lock down then I wanted to enjoy the time off but didn’t want to waste the day
For No.8 try Delayed Gratification its slow news , They only release every 3 months and they release articles that are more thoroughly researched and the extra time allows them to contextualise the articles, so its less overwhelming , also lots of infographics which is always fun . I have actively tried to consume the news less this year , and Ive been trying to workout how to not be overwhelmed and delayed Gratification has helped loads!
Regarding note organisation: I feel like it's acceptable to take 2-3 days of your break to dig into how the app works, make list of stuff that should go there and make first basic things in order to create base structure. And make a plan of 1hour chunks of notes. So that you can schedule 2-3 hours/week for note organisation in the future. At least that's how I approach note organisation of such nature)
Wow! You are incredibly productive! You do need to get better definition between what’s work and what’s not work. For your own piece of mind. Sharper definition will allow you to achieve better balance and avoid burnout. Hope you and your family are have a great holiday!
Hey Hannah. Something I’ve been wondering about your reading goals. Do you not find it hard when reading many books in quick succession to properly engage with them and enjoy them?
I really can’t wait for this year it has really just been kicking me when I am I know I am not the only one I also that for some it’s been a good year which I am happy for really am
Personally after using both I think notion is 10x better for linking/connecting pages - sharing with people specific tags, filters, sharing comments ect..
I think it depends how long it would take. If it would take 2 days or less then I say do it, you'll feel like you accomplished something and there can be a tendency to just totally veg out at xmas and just feel sluggish rather than rested (especially this year with less family/friends activities). But if you think it will take longer or it ends up taking longer than you thought then just scrap it for now.
Notion has some amazing free templates that allow people to take notes and link the notes to one another (i have a spreadsheet that links each row to a separate note, and tags allow me to combine notes by theme) if you wanted to explore options, but appreciate it may not be fully fit for your purpose.
haha was going to suggest notion because it *does* have linked databases and different views (table, kanban, list, gallery) in which you can view the same info. AND you can customize a lot (e.g. colours, emojis) so I thought you might like it. But good luck with roam research!
Take that break! You will thank yourself in January! schedule some time in in the new year where you stgart to organise your info for like 2 hours a week or something! Can be done, right?
Definitely take the time off. Here's an idea! Can you get your assistant to transfer those notes to the new program for you? Not during the holidays. Because that would be mean. But just as a project for him/her to start on in January?
What if you did like a three day start on the notes so you have a start and then after the rest of your break you dedicated like one or two hours a week into finishing it off? That way you can have a proper break you deserve it!
Do not work on your notes during your time off. Or, if you must, at least, set only one week or certain days when you will work on them and take the rest of the time completely off. That's my input anyhow. Also this roam research app sounds great, gonna have to look into it.
is your subtitlist american? i wasn't sure if you have seen lol but on every vid many words are incorrect and i'm not complaining as i am so grateful that you actually have subtitles! i just thought i'd let you know that there often seems to be words lost in translation (of accents), so that your vids can be even more accessible :)
I keep books I'll refer to regularly, or that are out of print/hard to get. Everything else comes from the library. Does your library have ebooks or eaudiobooks? Our library put on LOADS of digital resources during lockdown.
I'm so torn about owning books as well, but I think I've just come to terms with the facts that I'm gonna have my own personal library. If I read a book and don't feel sentimental about owning it, I'm just gonna donate (I think I've donated almost 100 books this year)
I'm noticing with this new light, you appear a little grey and shadey in front of this beautifully warm, lit backdrop - not sure if maybe you need more powerful light in front of your face. My partner and I have had to manage the exact same balance of him working full-time at home and me being a complete PEST, especially when I was on/off furlough for large chunks.
Three seconds into the video: Oh my god, what are you wearing and how can I get my hands on it?? (on another one that looks the same, obviously. taking yours would not be okay).
I don't want to be *that* vegan, but please check out Plant Based News' new 50min documentary on their UA-cam channel 💕 Honestly I hate coming across as peachy to anyone but it is a great new doc, especially for anyone who's looking for reasons to reduce small products since 2020, and why 2020 should make you want to eat meat less instead of more! 💕 Just wanting to share anything I can that may open people's minds 💕 Alsooo love the new setup! I wasn't sure if it was just part of the Tinder deal to set up an fancy but I LOVE it 🥰😱💕
yeah they can be if I intentionally buy them for having outfits in videos or for events (lol) but I wanted to pay for these ones out of my personal account because I was just feeling the need for clothes on a personal level lol!
Hannah, you're a beautiful woman. However there is one thing that I noticed. Your eyebrows don't look natural as they should. I am saying this having been married to a beautiful woman who's entire working life was as a cosmologists and makeup artist. They appear to be much thicker than they should and detract from your natural beauty. If you are using a makeup artist, I suggest getting a different one. If not, I suggest you get one to work with you on enhancing your natural beauty. Just a thought from an admiring old widower
THE OUTFIT THE NEW CAMARA THE PLANT AND THE LIGHT UGH PRODUCTION LOOKS GREATTTT
THANK YOU!

As a fellow introverted person, your "I'll leave you home alone for week" deal with Dan, sounds like true love ♡
'Hannah, take that break!' 💛
appreciate this
@@morehannah appreciate you 💛
Preach! Take the break :)
TAKE ME AWAY WITH YOU ON THE GIVE-DAN-SOME-PEACE TRIP PLS
YESSSSSSSS!!!
Hanmah: loves organisation
Also Hannah: surprised she set 3 categories of goals 😂
God that OUTFIT, I'm dying over here at how stunning it is. The pattern, the sleeves, the colours, everything! Also loving the light behind the chair, very fun to have seen it a few videos ago ;)

Hannah, if while taking your break fixing your notes brings you joy, then go for it! Take that break in the best way for you!
I'm the introvert in an introvert-extrovert couple, and it's true, the needing to be alone is a totally loving, not a resenting thing.
Also, take the time off. Mark out another few days or a week off the calendar for the research notes sometime.
I love the blouse(or dress?)! Definitely feeling motivated to work on my own goals for the next year
If you haven't achieved the goals you've set please be kind to yourself, as this year has been really hard **hugs**
Currently eating a PB&J for dinner so “palette of a 6 year old” is relatable for me.
My nephew saw me watching this (he's 3) and said "is that my friend?" And I was like "I'm sure she would love to be your friend. Her name is Hannah" and he smiles and says "oh! Hannah! Yeah" it was so sweet

I also recently discovered Notion and I love it!
Still use todoist as a task manager but notion is great for projects, references, plans, etc.
I'm the same position. I'm an extravert, my boyfriend is an introvert. The lockdown's definitely proved to be tricky!
OMG can tell this is on the new camera this looks so vibrant 👍 + 🪴

Hannah, take that break! ♥️ You deserve it, AND everyone need to have downtime in order to function in s healthy way in the long run. ♥️

I do, however, have a small shelf of my fancy books - illustrated HP, signed vintage books and the Famous Five Survival Guide that I would be very sad about dropping in the bath 😂😂
As a happy medium - I love buying used books online or in used book stores! Cuts down on waste but still allows you to build your own collection :)
I’m loving seeing so much of your face in my recommended because of Vlognukah!
Your goal videos are such motivation to me, look forward to them at the end of every year!
I think you should take the two week break and then make a series for this channel about organizing your research. That way you can do both. I would totally watch those.
I am OBSESSED with the production upgrade!!!

I feel like your vlogs are super bright, colorful and inspiring! Always feel good after watching them, even in depressing times.
Those earrings are super fun, I was starring at them the whole time haha

Getting to know a new organisational tool is always a lot of fun, maybe even enough to be considered a holiday occupation?
Most local libraries do offer e-books and audio books online!

Hannah, just take the break! You work so hard!
just signed up for the newsletter!!!!!
I think you should only do the note reorganization during break if you think you will enjoy it :)

I want you to take your time off! but I also want to know your insights into roam research..
I don’t know who you are but I just clicked to tell you that is the cutest stinking shirt I’ve ever seen. So pretty.
I really can’t wait for this year it has really just been kicking me when I am I know I am not the only one I also that for some it’s been a good year which I am happy for really am
This is where calling that particular hairstyle ‘braids’ just works better because now you’ve got Business Braids™️.
Would recommend a trip to Bath if you're looking for a Staycation! Great running routes too
Personally after using both I think notion is 10x better for linking/connecting pages - sharing with people specific tags, filters, sharing comments ect..
As Eliza Hamilton would say: "Take a break"
Do Zumba online, live! I've been doing dance classes online through both lockdowns and now tier 3. It's still really fun when it's live
haha was going to suggest notion because it *does* have linked databases and different views (table, kanban, list, gallery) in which you can view the same info.

HANNAH take that break!
Same thing about the break here. Oh, I have almost 2 weeks off, I can make some progress in writing my book! *Says my workaholic brain 🤦😅
Happy Chanukah!! Please tell me where your top is from? Love it! X
rented from On Loan
My boyfriend is an introvert too so every week or so he spends a day at his dad's vacant apartment so he can get space from me haha

Can you outsource some of that organisation to your assistant? Goes with the goal of increasing their hours! ✨
Awww, I'm going to miss seeing you every day 😅
💖.
Have Hannah and Come Curious ever done a collab together? That would be a great podcast if it hasn't happened already!
Three seconds into the video: Oh my god, what are you wearing and how can I get my hands on it?? (on another one that looks the same, obviously. taking yours would not be okay).
you can take mine though because I rented it!!! I got it from On Loan
I set 6 resolutions and I achieved 3. The other 3 were hampered by the pandemic though so I’m counting that as 100% done 😂
u should use notion for your notes!!! I freaking loveeee notion
i dont want vlognakuh to end :'(
Take the break!!!
It is work. Take the time off. Lock the Office. Give hubby the Key. Pretend you are Away in vaciation.
Hannah, take that break!
You look like Elizabeth I Tudor with that nice dress.
I wasn't sure if it was just part of the Tinder deal to set up an fancy but I LOVE it 🥰😱💕
Next you'll have to do 52 books in a year.
6:00 Probably tax-deductible!
yeah they can be if I intentionally buy them for having outfits in videos or for events (lol) but I wanted to pay for these ones out of my personal account because I was just feeling the need for clothes on a personal level lol!
