Everyone complaining about how this isn't accurate don't know the whole story. The girl that jumped last had cut the cords of the girl that dieds parachute. She intended to kill the girl that jumped first but did it to the wrong parachute.
April 2015, in Wiltshire, a real-world copy incident occurred. The victim (wife) however miraculously survived, and the husband later found guilty of attempted murder. There was an interesting podcast series about it.

Lydia (short blonde girl) had deliberately cut the cords on the parachute. Her intention was to kill Zoe (girl with the pigtails who jumped first), so she could have Sarah to herself. Unfortunately, the parachutes got mixed up and Sarah ended up dying rather than Zoe. Nobody noticed the parachute had been sabotaged until it was too late. As for the reserve chute, it's possible that the cut cords from the main chute got tangled up in the reserve. But one most remember that this is a tv show. Anything can happen!

@@davidsakal449 She had a main but it appears the risers were not hooked up. She should have activated her reserve canopy, or if the reserve was equipped with an AAD it would activated her reserve. Bottom line, if this video was not staged, the fault lies solely with the jumpmaster.
Why is her reserve coloured? And who is that rigger that messed up with packing ? There is no 3 ring system, so the main not there.. everything is totally wrong.. and who let her get on the plane without 3x3 check ?

She had no risers connected door ? She pulled her reserve handle but didn't cutaway? People skydiving is really safe but yes with risks just like crossing a road or riding a motorbike , in real times a skydiver would of cutaway the main canopy which was like that then deploy reserve . The main canopy is connected to a rsl n skyhook then reserve so technically it will deploy itself from cutting away . Go n jump try it ?
Safety checks before boarding the plane, and then what happened at the 1000ft equipment check?, did they check?, I see a lot of mistakes and safety concerns......
life is hard enough just working and making it through the day. no way I am going to do stuff like this or swimming with sharks and make it any harder than it already is. sort of like on the seventies show when they threw a bowling ball through the front of the tv, and the dad asked "so, what good did you think would come from this?"
Congratulations on leading an unchallenging and boring life. I am 66 and retired, and the 880 skydives I did are some of the best memories of my life. People who chose to sit on their couches will never understand the joy in stepping out of an aircraft and flying their body with total confidence to gently meet a jumper who exited a different aircraft. They will never know the joy of pushing themselves mentally to their limits, and becoming some of the first humans in history to fly their body in freefall with precision. You take pride in avoiding this kind of challenge. To each their own I guess.

Fun fact: These accidents tend to be quiet until the very end, almost as though the brain of the person plummeting is telling them there's still a chance, they might survive, be calm, or just shock them the moment it dawns on the person they're going to die.
As a D licensed Skydiver, this clip is embarrassing, BUT, for the average person...it will keep them on the edge of their seat, and scare them! Sucks for our sport, but, they say even bad publicity is good..!

She did activate her reserve parachute actually. If you watch again, she tries to pull out her first parachute (in her back) and then pull out her second one (on her chest) so it was really her last chance.
