Great job on the video! I really enjoyed the comparison. I owned a 2016 Tesla Model X 90D, and let me tell you, that car gave me the blues with all the costly out-of-warranty repairs. From the mirror motor to the squeaky front suspension caused by not enough factory grease, and even the wheel fairing separating from the car in a car wash - it was one thing after another. The falcon door sensor misbehaving and needing a reset, and the center glass between the falcon doors blowing off on the highway without me knowing until I got home - it was quite the adventure. Not to mention the AC compressor going bad and the fact that cracked two ‘22 wheels at a whopping $2100 per wheel, not to mention needing new tires. Phew! Surprise! I still really miss my Model X, even though I sold it and bought an ‘18 BMW Alpina and added a ‘22 Ford F150 Raptor to my car collection. I miss my Tesla so much that I went for a test drive of the Model S two days ago, and confirmed I am still a Model X guy. I'm ready to get another X. Your comparison review has convinced me - it's time to plan for a 2023-24 Model X again. Also, watching the improvements and changes to the newer 2023 Model X was really exciting. Thanks for the great video!
Used is the way to go! Tesla depreciates 35-50% in just a couple years. I just bought a 2019 M3SR+ for $23k with 39k miles and it’s in excellent condition.

I’m glad I watched this. I had ruled Tesla out but at this new lower price it becomes very competitive! I may have one soon! All the best with your new X!
Keeping your suspension at LOW creates the camber that allows for a more performance centric handling. The older Model Xs have a way to set your suspension levels. I had mine set to STANDARD until it hits 80mph then have it go to LOW.
Appreciate you spending the time together my friend. I hope this one gets picked up it’s loaded with solid content in my opinion for anyone looking to make an informed Tesla Model X Long Range or used X performance model buying decision.
My answer for why I ordered the Plaid X: - Don’t like the wood grain look - Wanted 6 seat configuration for 2 kids - At that point it makes sense to pay the extra ~$8,500 for the extra performance.
Plaid was a solid deal, really if you didn’t care about the tax credit and/or needed the 6 seats, no reason not to upgrade to it. BAD DESIGN for turn signals. They are too close together. So you have to look down to make sure you are pressing the right one. Also, try pressing them when you are on a curve in the road. Too dangerous. Tesla needs to bring back the stalk which is far superior.
The rear tire wear is similar to the wear on the Model S with the 21s. This flaw/ failure of design is 1000% on Tesla. The tire wear on the S with the 21’s does not exist with the standard 19’s. Can’t speak to the 20’s on the X. Tesla should offer an adjustable rear camber. Tesla needs to take responsibility for this unnecessary and unsafe tire wear. Their design flaw has been solved by aftermarket companies which should embarrass Tesla. I know the Tesla fanboys don’t care….more money than sense. They only make / advertise the All Wheel Drive, which was for years known as the Long Range Dual Motor and the Plaid. There is not Rear Wheel Drive / Base like on Y/3.
Tesla X - 2 hours of driving and then 30-40 mins of charging - that's dismaying experience... No fast acceleration feature will compensate for such large losses of time while traveling. So the battery will degrade quickly. Inconvenient 2nd row door. In essence: expensive car of low resale value - 🤷♂ EDIT - If buying Tesla, I would go for Y.
Well low resale value now due to sky high rates, but during Covid these held up well. The X is a way exotic car and bit more luxury, and frankly for what they cost today I just don’t see why anyone would buy the Y. I mean shoot you can get low mileage X’s for less than a Model Y now pretty easily.

Version 12 is scary good, you just have to experience it to get what I’m saying.
The doors are stupid, and nothing more than a party trick and definition of "just because you can do something doesn't mean you should."
Mostly agree, but they are awesome for people like me with kid car seats. Thats why Elon made them, he has like 6 kids.
@@Driven-Productions I have a kid too, I rarely remove the car seat.
@@poorasslawstudent well you got to admit its sure easier with those doors on your back.
Well, you have the option to NOT BUY a model X! But then again, you likely can’t afford one anyway
Model X build quality is a nightmare & definitely not worth the insurance premiums.
These guys are pros at wasting money 😂
Did you watch the video before commenting? We definitely covered the build quality. 🤷♂️
It will never ever be Porsche quality.
If there is one thing I’ve learned about Tesla and Elon, never say never…
That’s not the long range- that’s the base model X
They only make / advertise the All Wheel Drive, which was for years known as the Long Range Dual Motor and the Plaid. There is not Rear Wheel Drive / Base like on Y/3.
People that film in HDR should not have cameras.
You lost me 🤷♂️
Im so glad Elon got rid of Disney on all teslas, well done!
Ah, I’m not happy about this update. Got a 6 and 8 year old could who care less thankfully about politics on road trips 🤷♂️
@@Driven-Productionsyou be happy when the grow up, don’t let Disney raise your child unless you’re a lib
Disney is still there, clowns.
@@JH-rk9gdLearn how the world works and stop letting politics drive your life.
Just go to the web and search Disney and you will have it back
Elon has deleted the search mode in TikTok. He must be afraid of owners searching for the Gaza War and other things.
Tesla X - 2 hours of driving and then 30-40 mins of charging - that's dismaying experience...
No fast acceleration feature will compensate for such large losses of time while traveling.
So the battery will degrade quickly. Inconvenient 2nd row door. In essence: expensive car of low resale value - 🤷♂
EDIT - If buying Tesla, I would go for Y.
