The idea that adding more lanes will solve traffic jams is seriously antiquated. Or so I thought until I saw this; turns out those lanes just reduce traffic to nothing!
Why cant a whole country just be one gigantic road?
*****
Because then it wouldn't be a country, just one bad-ass racetrack.
I'm from Burma and those lanes are made for emergency plane landings
MrCelroy beacause then where will every one live where will cars be made where will food be made what in the middle of the road you idiot
Thinkable Drago woooosh
Well, that's something you don't see every day: A drag race with the COP as the starter.
Here's the flag! COP, swing it down!
and on the streets
or indeed, playing football with them on the main road!
STAG162 To be fair: NOBODY IS ON THE ROAD
GoredonTheDestroyer
check out 1:42 and tell me again who's on the road?
They actually made it that big so the whole road can become an emergency runway during times of war.
Ninja Tokes damn thats smart
@@capitanleon9570 Considering how Burma is a military based country, it is quite impressive. It was built with the future in mind.
Ninja Tokes 10000iq prediction
@@capitanleon9570 yeah naypyitaw is very weird place, everything was built for a strategic reason
I am from Burma. Those roads are also to be used as runway for airplanes
to be fair, Clarkson's lorry has racing stripes on it...
yes racing stripes add 100 horsepower
hahaha😂😂😂
Cheers m8 xD
Clarkson knows how to make a good looking and powerful racing/sports lorry.
Ford Racing stripes at that
You can't hear it, but that pink teddy bear is screaming in anguish.
D e p r e s s i o n F o r T h e B e a r
I hear it every time I close my eyes at night. Don't you worry about that.
andre moreno Then it’s working
So that is where Lotso Hugging Bear ended up. On the front of Jeremy's truck.
MattWesss excuse you, his name is Rudyard
Toy Story VIBEZ
I was looking for this exact comment lol
@@Shakes-Off-Fear Rudyard The Jam Bear
I love how those cops are absolutely ok with them drag racing. Here in Iowa, you have some freaking roads so empty, you have a better chance of seeing a ghost before you see another vehicle. Yet if a cop sees you racing, chances are they are going to pull you over.
I mean c'mon, you can't blame them.
The streets look pretty much always empty.
Dark_Tail: Haha, “better chance of seeing a ghost”!
Same in Northern Michigan.
Well it's either pull you over, or go back to driving past cornfields for another four hours.
Are you part of a crew of TV presenters for a car show? It makes a difference when you ask the police to race on the roads. In fact it's the only way you'll get to do it. That's the difference.
“Oh no! How am I gonna do it without them?!”
May is just the best
Just imagine in 50 years when that becomes a bustling city centre and you have to cross a 20 lane road as a pedestrian. Gulp.
Flying hover cars running on potato’s coming at you from every direction.
Over bridge for pedestrians
@Teamgeist Hey if thats what communism is like, capitalism is probably just teleporters.
@Teamgeist Says the person who equates socialism with communism, Ironic isn't it. Especially since most of these countries are still heavily affected by liberal economics.
Running on potatoes!
Love it!
"Flying hover cars running on potatoes" im laughing my fn ass off rn
and you know in 50 years the road will not have had a single bit on maintenance done on it
4:15 I love how you can hear Jeremy’s boisterous laughter under the umbrella 😂
When Jeremy drove the KTM XBow he said that he will only be testing cars with roofs. Now we see him holding a umbrella because he thought it would be a good idea to get rid of his roof. His logic doesn't seem to be very reasonable.
He is Jeremy though, that explains it.
***** the most contradictory man... in the world...
MeisterYodarkus but he isnt testing the truck....
I think it's been proven many times that Jeremy isn't one to go by logic, that's more James' domain. No, you can't explain something logical to someone whose best friend (and always will be) is a hammer.
MeisterYodarkus Because this is not staged... Its just scripted show, you know?
When it cut to clarkson under the umbrella I lost it 😂
It's scary how close Richard is to the steering wheel, and he's not exactly a big man.
Good truck for a company that doesn't want fat employees!
who really wants fat employees ?
Clarkson hardly fits in there
Seriously, that Isuzu truck is so beautiful. I want one of these.
am i the only one that wants a 16 lane highway in gta just to play a makeshift game of frogger with your friends?
Do it with 4 that’s what we be doin in real life
Would love to live in deserted city. you could probably drift around it all u want and never worry about traffic.
It's not deserted it's actually still populating because it's a new capital city and it holds events like sea games so there isn't much civilians there only government buildings and their houses and lots of hotels people only go there for sport events
I went just now, went in May. Yangon is really busy, the Pagoda is really busy, not sure how they had this whole place quiet, when i went there was traffic
yeah the time i commented it wasnt much populated im a citizen of myanmar but yeah its mostly crowded now i guess idk i havent been there in like 2 years?
yangon is really busy.they changed the capital to naypyidaw but everyone from myanmar knows that yangon is the real capitol
and this is naypyidaw which is still populating
Shane Earley 100th like
“Let’s rename him ‘Pruning Peacock’. (laughter from an umbrella)
Best way to use an empty road.
5:01 that Dude is savage. Smoking and Riding Bike 🤣🤣🤣🤣
New episodes when Half life 3 is confirmed.
Or when they finish subnautica

Enter, half life Alyx
After Coronavirus 2 is announced in Gayhan , China 3
Jokes on ya mate
Clarkson's teddy on the front gave him the horsepower to win the drag lol
10 years ago when I was young and ignorant I agreed with Jeremy on the number of lanes being a good thing, but now that I'm older and studied transport and planning in the Netherlands I know that the problem in London/Paris/etc is that there are too many cars taking up tons of space for too few people and the solution isn't more space for cars, but less and more public transport/cycling/walking.
>but now that I'm older and studied transport and planning in the Netherlands
AKA, I watched a Not Just Bikes video and bought his propaganda hook, line, and sinker.
anyone one who drives wishes that the rush hour that they had to expirience would happen to them
Amen to that.
Wierdo Bacon me man
I’ve just finished work and am watching this. So yes I’m in an engineering workshop and James is using the wrong tool
These three will never die out. They will always make me laugh.
-The sports truck is gaining!
-Gaining!

-GAINING!!!
If I lived there, I'd be filling up my gas tank every day lol
Is it just me or did hammonds truck have a Chevy logo and Isuzu written on It?
yea i saw that too
Isuzu Builds chevys Duramax diesel. so its fitting really.
roaddiablo really , if so thanks for informing me
Yep I saw that to
Nah, not even close.
Isuzu and GM have been sharing Truck body components since the 80s and possibly earlier.

What would we do without you Jeremy?
5:22 Rudyard looking fantastic (and very pink) on the sports truck.
Isn't that where the woman made the exercise video during the coupe??
I am from Myanmar!!! It’s soo good to see your country in UA-cam vids
Are you ok,he said your country has been controlled by the military.
"The first city built entirely in anticipation of the future." _Sad Milton Keynes noises._
The way hammond's truck smokes makes it looks like a steamboat..
it's wild that on the same massive road. Where these 3 bloacks had a drag race, with a police officer as starter.
will be the same where we see a women dancing in front of a military coupe.
4:25 Clarkson becomes an umbrella
For some reason I find 4:18 really funny, hearing Jeremy laugh but only see his umbrella
He became an umbrella just to protect the cb radio and the 2 amps stereo on the dash
Who’s here after the 2021 coup
2024
2:53 it really does look fast
AceOwTV hello from present time
The sports truck is GAINING

A top gear classy James May!
I love the way they integrated cultures
That 10 lane would make a great runway in wartime
+Eric L That's why it was built that way ahah.
This season was so good! I almost regret watching it because I want to watch it again :(
4:20 just when i tought "finally james picked the right car"
0:49 "This may look stupid and pointless, but actually, it really isn't."
But in an even more true sense, it really is.
Yeah clarkson just so you know you were doing 71 miles per hour.
Hammond's truck looks cozy tbh
Lets pray for Myanmar guys
They are going to Myanmar!?
cant wait for 22
As someone who has built roads before, I've got a big middle finger here, to building a 20 lane highway. Looks like whoever did build it, did a good job though.
This is without a doubt the best top gear ⚙ ever no new top gear can trumps it
4:20 Crocodile
3:11 football lol
I just love the pink bear in front of the truck :P
Those disco ballcaps really fit the three of them... especially Clarkson..he looks like elton johns limo driver ! 😁
2:55 that Yeaaaaaasss Tho
and then there is his bass version: yeeeeeeeeeeeeees
Me: Watching Top Gear
Jeremy Clarkson: *”G A I N I N G”*
16 lanes? sound like the 401 here in Southern Ontario
Is that including the collectors?
The Katy Freeway in Texas has 26.
Mirza Ahmed well two of the carriageways are more like service roads
@@mirzaahmed6589 They're not actually normally used roads tho, totally different. Also, I thought of the 401 too :)
I used to deliver bread in a truck like James Hino, 1989 with nearly 2 million KMs but in better condition
I like James’s embroidered trucker cap, to the point I’d actually wear it I think
Love me some The Heavy what makes a good man.
Cow: “meh”
Damn Hammond's lorry produces as manyfumes as an entire city
Classic awesome top gear
“It’s like I’m driving through the aftermath of a hurricun.”
Alex Crawford or corona virus
When these guys laugh, it the laugh of genuine friends
Its crazy how burma has 20 lane highways anticipating an economic boom, when i think of burma i think of that 1 rambo movie, landmines, and burmese pythons big enough to swallow a grown man
This is one of the Best Episodes Top Gear.
May's words about the City's Anticipation of the future👍..And Clarkson's words "But the future hasn't come yet"😄
Boss: why were you late
Guy in Burma in the future: … traffic?
Boss: you're fired.
0:33 Put that in Texas, they'll be traffic in 5 minutes.
The most surprising part of the Burma episodes was that their cars have steering wheels on the right and they drive on the right side of the road.
Buying cheap vehicles from abroad
And or the country changed side of the road
For the fact that James’ truck has a crane on it, it did super well n the drag race
so, Clarkson has a speedster-truck(no roof/totally useless roof) that also has an identity crisis(Chevuzu? Isurolet?), Hammond has a truck that's too tall, and May has a truck that is basically Karma on wheels.
Isuzu vehicles in general have identity crises. Isuzu has been in partnerships with pretty much every major automaker on the planet, especially with GM.
more grand tour adverts on top gear lmao. Clarkson and co FTW
I am speaking to you now from underneath my businessman's umbrella
RUDYARD!
The reason why there is so much lanes on the road is because it was designed to have 2 peepers. One as a road and the ader as an runway for military aircraft. So if in a war any of the main runways where destroy they can use this highway instead.
Why isn't this series on Netflix yet.. :(
Tyler Vaow
Nah, amazon prime
It was on Netflix for awhile , but you know how they like to change things around
It is
It was for a while, but only in heavily edited down form, which defeated the point.
a police watching this illegal drag race?
I dont think they even know what "Illegal" means. Nor "Drag" or "race" :/
He has started it
Well, if they organized or are even just watching, that kinda means it's not illegal
bribes?
@@jmunday7811 Indeed, Money, And licenses, They can even do it on a british road if they want to, BBC just closes down a road with money!
Zombie Man instrumental music was the absolute legend
The Roads don't look like they've been abandoned, they look freshly paved...
All the people live in Yangon modern name for Rangoon and it's still the better capital city
By the time the future arrives there the cars are going to be flying.
2:20 means 1 2 3
I love how the finish line is a police post. :D
What I wonder about is what the BBC producers has done to get the Burmese gov. to allow them to do all of this.
"'ellow, we're from the BBC and here is a suitcase of cash".
Oh I remember. Pretty amazing and amusing.
Holy Crap! I'd love to go there to max my car...146mph :(
german autobahn? :P
I drive almost that fast every day on my way to work (if the weather isnt too bad)
germany ftw :D
City Center Drag Race, Only in Burma!
Song at 3:35 is What makes a Good Man by The Heavy
K
He is heavy weapons guy...
Just in case you need a daily dose of drag races between a couple of trucks. ^^ Top Gear is the place to go.
Its so fun to just be able to see the umbrella
0:17 It's like a Proper People intro.
Hm, why would he say it's 20 lanes, if it only has 10 going his way. In the UK they don't say 'quadruple carriageway', they say 'dual carriadgeway' according to how many lanes go in one direction.
Guess you’ve never heard of the word hyperbole🤓
@@Bb-jm2xl i have, and he's not exaggerating. He's just saying it in weird maths, which I tried to outline in my op.
Isuzu always have advantage at high speed versus Hino and Mitsubishi, even for their light truck, they are just great for highway racing, but very slow when in muddy/bumpy road, exiting corner, heavily loaded, and anything that need sudden power
As an American viewer, I can say 100% the the auto captions are exactly what us Americans hear.
