What's strange is that it got cancelled right in the middle of a two part cliffhanger...there wasn't a part 2 for the final episode. And Joy won a Emmy for her role (forgot the actresses name) that final season! But some shows are set up for failure by executives that don't like the show, like what happened to "Third Rock From the Sun"
I never caught this show when it first ran although it was advertised EVERYWHERE at the time. It happened that one night, one very late night, I came across the show and was hooked! This was truly "laugh out loud funny"! I don't remember the episode but the plot was something I had never seen on tv, the actors blew me away with the portrayal of their characters and even the outro music was undescribable! The next morning I told my housemates about this program and we all decidid to check it out that night. When it came on it was quickly discovered that I had undersold the program because it was so funny that none of us could stop laughing! I still laugh with this show as I did buy the dvds and consider it to be one of the best purchases I ever made! Sorry for going on so long but I can't help lovin', Karma and the gang!

The show was really popular and had great ratings, so the writers asked for more money. The TV network said no, so the writers went on strike. That’s how My Name is Earl ended. The writers deserved the raise in my opinion
Have you watched Greg Garcia's other shows? Raising Hope, and The Guest Book? They're not as good as this, but they're funny. He's working on a show now called Sprung it should be out soon on IMDb TV
You have to pay to be able to see the show now. It was so good. I don't watch any of the new shows now, they've gone too far they cross the line it's not funny, it's not quality like these shows had some sort of respect for the viewers and the subject matter. This and Raising Hope were Smart Comedy
