No matter if I’m 20 times better than Ace , I was a 12 year old kid when Ace was selling out arenas and he launched thousands on thousands of young kids to play guitar ..
I’ve made a living for over 41 years playing guitar ..paying car payments , light bills mortgages etc..
And granted my guitar heroes I have many in vast styles ..Ace started it all …

Ace is right about Eric Singer. He was the MVP of KISS for the past 15 year or so. Aside from his playing, he took over a lot of the higher notes Paul could no longer play.

I don't think it's just money - Paul is very insecure. I really think he needs to feel better than others if you watch other interviews or listen to portions of his book. He kind of says it's because he was picked on as a child because of his missing ear, but it wasn't Ace and Peter making fun of him. In an interview with Howie Mandell he says he always felt in life that he was behind others and now he looks around and sees all these people are behind him and he's ahead of them. It's very telling that he needs to look to others to define his self worth. Paul also is that kid who was picked on and becomes the bully.

He’s pretty much saying it got miserable towards the end of the reunion. People make comments about him falling off the wagon as if he hasn’t read it, but how would you know unless you were in the room with him? He also said Peters car accident was what affected his playing during the reunion, so maybe people should back off on trashing Catman’s drumming, if he was asked to play 3 songs he would be fine but you’re not going to get the same guy who played on Alive 50 years ago….out of the originals Gene might be the only one who sounds more or less the same but he didn’t need to have a wide vocal range on his best known songs. Maybe now the guys in KISS can be nicer to each other in the media….but clickbait websites want those clicks and will keep baiting fans into a feud that doesn’t exist except in their own heads.
Dude Ace was NOT sober during the reunion and by the time psycho circus came out he was full blown back into coke and alcohol again. His assistant/girlfriend explains it all in detail in her book. Also Peters car accident was in the late 70’s, not the second run.
Except it's not click bait fans that keep a feud going. Paul talks shit about everyone else in the band, even Gene, because he's insecure. I'm pretty convinced that the issue with Kiss is Paul and his need to be the center of attention. He's never been happy with anyone other than himself.

The reason Gene & Paul didn't want to play with Peter & Ace at R&R Hall Of Fame is because it would create fan demand and expectations for the original four to reunite to tour and would make touring with Eric & Tommy a disappointment.
Absolutely. And Ace and Peter physically walk and talk like their age. Paul and Gene don’t. Peter hit so soft in 96-98 they had to use triggers. Idk. Trying to not be more of a joke than they are. Only meaning past their prime. Way more past.
That's exactly it. They knew if they played with Ace and Peter then there would be demand for another reunion tour, and they didn't want to go down that road.

Can you imagine Ace trying yo play to backing tracks. Ace is, without question, my favorite lead guitar player certainly not because he is the most tight or the most technically sound player to ever take the stage. My love for Ace is because the second you hear Ace playing, you know that it is Ace playing. Live rock n roll, from my perspective, is not supposed to be 100 percent perfect....Ace plays with a discernable feel and, at times, a sloppiness that creates a unique tone and guitar dynamics. I am certainly no expert, but Ace's live playing has always been extremely pleasing to my ears.
Ace is the real Blues Hard Rock artist in modern time, and his sound is a very important part of original KISS sound. Just listen to all early KISS records with Ace. In the 70th, I was listening to Kiss and Johnny Winter... Ace stood for the hard blues rock sound that made KISS unique.

I think you and Ace are talking about two different performances He is saying they didn't want him playing the final show because they are using backing tracks. For the Rock and roll Hall of Fame show, that is something different. You were asking him about the rock and roll Hall of Fame, but he thought you were talking about the final show at Madison square garden.

Ace Frehley makes great music to this day. Such a fan of his. I'm not listening to new KISS stuff. It's over and has been for a long long time. I really hated what Paul said because like Ace said they haven't done anything new in 20 years. It's over for KISS. I prefer Ace's straight up rock and roll. Ace has no problem doing it live.
A Rock n brews in Times Square with a stage and P.A.system sounds appealing for new bands and their musical development!!!!!!!

The invite was put out by Gene months before, but I don't know about video
@@JokersWild70 I found a blabbermouth article from June 2023 were Gene apparently said Peter and Ace turned down invitations to play. The article also quoted Ace saying if they don’t have deep pockets, I won’t be there. In that article Gene apparently also said probably best the four of us, current KISS, just finish this thing.
Gene didn't actually invite Ace and Peter to play. He just said that to generate publicity.

I believe , since I've been around them for decades , that they are simply promoting one another. Think about it; you have Ace's new record coming out soon and KISS with their "End of the Road Tour." It's a sad thing but, that's how it goes.

ACE guitar work and playing is organic it's real there is nothing fancy but when you hear him you know it's ACE he has created his own sound people say sloppy I have seen so many gigs of the best guitar players in the world they don't hit every-note right or every bend or every chord but that's rock and roll that's what makes it special, as for Tommy yes he is a good guitar player but let's see what he does outside of KISS without Gene and Paul pulling his strings I hope does something I think the guitar world needs to hear Tommy without KISS, ACE is a recording artist , KISS was a travelling expensive juke box of greatest hits, but ACE is still making great records, still kicking ass ,

How does Ace Frehley have a new album when Ace Frehley can't even play guitar? I thought this when I was a kid that they were Faking it. They are the most famous lip sync band on the planet. Milli Vanilli eat your heart out. I just recently watched a interview with Ace Frehley and he was showing us how he can play his new song, but he couldn't play the guitar, How could he have an album if he can't even play guitar. They're hiring sessions musicians and they're Faking It On Stage that's how.

I saw Ace live at the Cleveland Agora back in the early 90's before the reunion Psycho Circus tour. Talked with him before the show, he sat on the edge of the stage and talked with me and my buddy for over 30 min before the show. I can tell you this, ACE is an amazing talented guitar player. Not Eddie Van Halen level, but he can play and always have. No idea what people are talking about.

He was honest, for a short while. Paul an Gene have nothing to do with his addiction. They even tolerated him too long.
The last time I saw Ace live was the 96 reunion tour opening show in Detroit. I have seen many of Ace's shows here on UA-cam and he seems extremely bored and disinterested. I understand tha Ace has never had a high energy, flamboyant presence on stage....his presence has always reflected the "Space Ace" persona in its uniqueness. I also understand that Ace is 72 years old, very hard of hearing, and was hard on his body for a number of years. However, the Ace stage magic seems strained, again, from what I have seen here on UA-cam with his more recent shows over the past couple of years. Perhaps I would feel differently if I actually got off my ass and went to a live show. For those with whom have recently seen Ace live, what is your take on what I am saying here.....is seeing Ace live these days worth the cash?
To me, how thick your nostalgia glasses are determines whether or not it’s worth the cash to see nearly any of the ‘70s and ‘80s acts live now. I’d personally rather remember the ‘80s (my teen years) as I remember them than pay now to see those artists as empty shells of what they were.

I don’t think that’s sad news. Ace might be wrong about Tommy’s future prospects, but it was very obvious that he likes Tommy and didn’t want to create e narrative of negativity towards him.

No, this is not using some logic perhaps ? The many years you mention are due to the original 4 members. Kiss is and will always be the original 4 members. It is not Eric Carr Make-up being used...nor Vinnie Vincent Make-Up. You did see the last show and the many years where Ace and Peters Make-Up is used ? So you see it is 50 years of Kiss only due to the original Kiss. Have a nice day.

He’s old and abused his body for far too many years. I had an uncle like that, was clinically sober for 20 years but still like physiologically drunk in terms of his body control and speech. Some damage is just impossible to recover from.

Simmons and Stanley would like to be perceived as top-notch musicians while Ace and Peter are just bar band level and that couldn’t be farther from the truth. I’ve seen Asian concert several times. He was great every time he’s not Steve Vie… but he doesn’t try to be he’s ace freely and that is saying a lot, considering that of millions or more young guitar players that looked up to everything he did musical

Not Bob Kulick, when he auditioned. Millions looked up to Ace, but it was not necessarily the 🎸. No one wants to play rhythm guitar like Paul? Because "normal" people" don't HEAR it. And even think, the🎸 sound comes from Ace. That's why many people identify Ace with the KISS sound.
The others "worked", but Ace's AURA overshadowed.
To be fair, Paul actually does a rhythm solo during the show so there’s that
Paul also played lead- and rhythm guitar (+vocals) on "Sure Know Something".
He played the bass guitar on "I Was Made For Lovin' You" etc...
When Paul and Gene said he was invited to the last shows, Ace said several times he would never perform on stage with or after Tommy in his make up so he kind of stopped that thing himself. Ace is often like that. He says things and seem to forget he said it and acts like everything happening is just Paul and Gene being Aholes.

The big difference between Ace and Tommy… ace participated and played on all of those songs that we remember that were so great. That pens of thousands of people would go to each concert all over the world for a good seven or eight years they rule the world. What is Tommy Rippon and how come the Paul and Simmons don’t let him write music. Some people have a gift of writing that millions want to hear other guitar players that may be a whole lot better never sell a single record.
Oh... He's aware of the comment section. Which is good. Hopefully it leads to some awareness or improvement. Out of pride at least.

He sounds so drunk and high. Seen him a few years ago. His roadies sold my friend and I their tickets at a Milwaukee show. They said he has good days and bad. Some days they said they have to push him around in a wheel chair.

Ace has been on Ace mountain a little too long... Gene and Paul are always selling the current version of Kiss, as soon as the four of them are seen together everyone starts talking reunion and Kiss was doing a big 2014 anniversary tour with the current lineup, I love Ace but his brain is fried
Thank you Jeremy for setting mush mouth straight on the fact that they have put out albums. They didn't use tracks in 2014 though. Tommy is a much better player than Ace. So Ace needs to just let it go.
i'm Glad that never happend the OG lineup ended in Kiss Farewell Tour in 2001. "the new KISS" linup ended in 2023. and Ace HAD the invite to join on any End of the road show but he did not wanna do it unless KISS would have paid him millions that tells me Ace does not give a shit about his fans or he would have done it for FREE for the fans.

Here's another information flash when Ace says who else has Tommy played with, black and blue? Tommy Thayer has made a thousand times more money as a member of Kiss in the last 25 years than Ace has ever made. Tommy has a pedigree and time left. Ace thinks he's a guitar virtuoso and he's lazy and he used to be my guitar hero back when he had the mojo. I've spent enough money on this dude over my career I don't want to hear him judge other people's careers.

P&G said many times:"Without Ace and Peter we would not be here", "We all depended on each other" etc. What makes you think, Peter and Ace were "much better"? Because they were prettier and funnier? Gene wrote a part of Ace's "Cold Gin". Paul gave his "Black Diamond" to Peter. Paul and Gene encouraged Ace to sing. So they made him better. Bob Ezrin sang the solo for Ace how to play on "Detroit Rock City". He made Ace "better" etc..

Gene and Paul don’t owe him anything. Already been on record saying he wanted huge sums of money to perform at msg. It’s done and gone now. He quit the band twice of his own decision. Should They have retired both times waiting on his wish to reform when he’s pissed away his fortune on drink drugs & divorce. In his own words he’s doing brilliant & making them look like imbeciles. So why would he need the Kiss name & payday.
Ace can't play anymore. He hardly could in his prime and Peter isn't much better. Having them on your would've been an embarrassment.
