I am a OEM Automotive engineer. 31+ yrs experience w/North American and now 13+ yr Japanese OEM experience. PLUS I spent some time in the Hi-Po aftermarket industry too.
This family is incredibly open and honest about this supplier situation. It's a rare situation of exposing themselves to what really goes on in customer / supplier relations.
IMO... don't be overly demanding and please give them some latitude as they will make it right with you.

Its a delicate balance and its hard at times, not to be frustrated. End of day though, we wouldnt be in business without them. Like all industries, there are bad apples and sometimes you have to weed through them. Customers get upset, but I just want to show people that these arent ongoing excuses, these situations are real and very time consuming. We will be back on track soon though, and out this behind us.
I deal with China manufacturers, foundries, and machinists all the time. There are so many hiccups and issues and then throw in shipping. It will work out. You are right, it is almost impossible to be completely made in America.

Hang in there. Businesses are struggling around the world, so we're all in good (or bad) company depending on the perspective. What sets everything apart is the people behind it. You both put everything into taking care of your customers, and that will continue to pay dividends in the future.
Looking forward to seeing everything at SEMA next week. Perhaps you can give me a walk-through on products and film some content for my channel to help showcase the products a little more. Im sure they will find plenty of new eyeballs considering how many people film at the show.

It will all get sorted out eventually. I still plan on getting a set for my C5, it’s just life keeps kicking my ass every time I’m about to pull the trigger on a set. But I still really want these lights. Maybe life is just making me wait to help you guys get through this difficult time. I look forward to doing business with one day ASAP. thanks for not giving up and sticking with it.

Omg! I'm so glad you and the family are okay. I've been so worried about you guys, I thought something was wrong because you've been gone from the channel for so long. I'm excited for the lights, I think I've been waiting since July. I'm not concerned about getting them, I know you'll come through. I am itching to put them on my car though 😊 I recently joined a Facebook group for C5 enthusiasts. Someone posted a picture of a car with your headlights on and I felt like one of the cool kids when I knew exactly where the lights were from 😁
I'm ready for that touch screen in my C5!

Sounds like a little extra QC would go a long way! Some way of testing the light units before they go into the product, like a spectrum analyzer or vision system, could identify issues early. Or find out what QC is in place at your supplier and see if you can duplicate it so your data matches theirs?
Manufacturing is a study in variable quantification, control and mitigation. Some things are learned the hard way! 😊
We QC at two levels before each kit ships. We just werent expecting color temperature changes. They are tested with Kelcie wearing sunglasses/eye protection on, and she didnt originally detect the purple hue. QC process will change though, as we will do batch tests on an individual randomly picked light. Full disassembly, full test, etc

As someone that already has a c5 headlight kit and waiting in ordered bezels ... my main concern after seeing this video is the feuding with vendors... bro "evil USA"?
You went out of your way to cut videos on why the originators of sleepy eye kits were not good. You won, the market is yours. BUT...the original guys made brackets in the US and used high quality, readily available 60mm Hella lights. I know your turning red about this and about to call me names as you do...but hear me out. How about remaking a kit/bezels that utilize popular/high quality/readily available lights by Hella or PIA etc.? As someone that has given you my money, but hasn't wanted to comment because you flame your own customers online and just threaten to cancel orders etc..., I'm concerned that 2 years from now the lights go out and I cant get replacement bulbs.
Well, your concerns are unfounded. We will have lights always. I've repeated that the prior kit that was "made in the usa" you're describing was bent in the usa and was chinese steel, with chinese hardware, using chinese led headlight bulbs in chinese made hella housings. I hardly flame my customers, I just wont tolerate people who attack my brand with fake usernames so they cant be identified. I love those who are mad at me for refunding someone. If customers get furious for getting refunded, then you can easily identify where the problem lies. Nothing better than a customer who is hating your guts at the same time. Why order and why support what I am doing if you're mad about and slandering me. Saying I "flame my own customers" lacks any foundation, in fact. Where is your proof of this supposed flaming and are you placing the entire conversation you supposedly observed, into context. I wont be abused by people, sorry. If I have gone back at anyone, they've gone beyond the line of a customer/business interraction, at which point I am not going to allow people to abuse me bro..aint gonna happen.

I am an OG first run buyer. Bought Damian’s first product within an hour of the sale going live. I am here to say, hang in there! They are good to their word and will make all right for everyone. It’s worth the wait! I personally am hanging in there for all his future C5 products!
Vouches from others are the most valuable thing future buyers and currently waiting buyers trust most. We will break through this and launch many new C5 innovations in 2024!

Damian, since I've stated as 1 of the founding member my isn't a daily driver I have other vehicles to drive and I've waited for the lights I can wait for the bezels the weather is about to change here in NC I'll put my car for the winter stay focus I believe in u and looking forward to the next endeavor for the C5 Regards Matt n the kutt

Thanks for the update and as an original very patient prebuyer, I'm really looking forward to the bezels. The lights look incomplete without them and the massive gap in the bumper is brutal and fellow car guys pointed that out immediately. Would it be a good idea to buy a couple light pods as backups ? Chinese companies open and close like lemonade stands. Too bad the materials couldn't be US made instead of communist made, but I totally get it lol.
I have a strong confidence this new supplier can give us abundance. I hate how things have gone, but its also forced me to move on. The company will be better positioned as a result. I will get in stock, for sure by 2024

Im the guy mentioned here in this video that first reported having purple lights.
Damian and myself have definitely disagreed on a few things, bit of personality conflict but we sorted it out and so far Damian has done right by me.
As for the product itself i have to say besides me receiving a bad batch of light overall i am happy with the product and I’m looking forward to getting a replacement set and enjoying white light.
Things will be good ahead, this was a tough and highly unexpected problem to solve, but the only way forward is through it. Good things ahead. Thanks for the comment
