Yes, I'm hopeful this will correct any missteps people may have. While this video looks simple, it literally took me 5 days of shooting and probably 7 days of editing to try to convey as clearly as I could, each step. Just trying to avoid any issues ahead.
I installed my lights today. Absolutely love them took me about four hours. Install was pretty easy, especially when following the video. I did something on the second light that helps tremendously, and that was to adjust the stopper all the way up until only a thread or two was showing on the bolt. I will have to adjust my lights a little bit higher, or raise the car off the ground. Lol I’m almost dragging after lowering it, but I’ll wait until I raise it up to see exactly where the lights set. All in all I absolutely love these lights. What a difference, it makes in the appearance of my C5. thanks Damian for the great product and support
Did you use the black oxide screws for the stops? I am betting no. The paper in the box advised of the hardware change. The hardware is correct if you build the stops correct according to the update.

They’re not only cosmetically nice, but it’s probably something good to get for safety. I couldn’t see anything on unlit roads with the stock lights, these are insanely bright

Fantastic product! Terrific walk through. Installation was a breeze and had them mounted perfectly first shot with everything by following this video. You do fantastic work and i am eagerly awaiting the availability of the C5 max din/HVAC controller.
Just finished installing, what a great and easy to follow video. One thing that made it easier to remove the 10mm bolt on the top of the housing to release the mounting arm was an L shaped H5/32 (or metric equivalent) hex key instead of the T15 with pliers trick. I got the new black bolts for the stop guide and I didn't realize why you switched them until I got to the passenger side, the armature woild slide in between the bolt and the housing.

@@Zestybruh thought about doing that. Was a long 2 days of installing but the lights look great. I ended up cutting the bolt off and replacing it with 10mm on both ends for easy access in the future
The paperwork in the box supercedes this video, as directed in the video. The black oxide screws are your stops, like the paperwork directs. If the black oxide screws aren't used, then you will not have enough hardware.
9:10 Hey Damian I am almost done and just caught at 1:02:59 that the T25 I initially used slipped, had a T27 sitting right there and that was the proper fit you could tell by feel right away. I remember years ago working on some car that had T27 as well so that adds up.
14:01 Mechanic’s tip: remove the (2) rear T15 Torx screws BEFORE manually raising the headlamp - saves time because you don’t have to raise it, then lower it, then raise it again. This is called a “workflow optimization” which saves time.
just received my kit and checking the video i found that both of the metal stop brackets did NOT have the nuts tack welded to them, no flat washers and none in the bag of hardware. a minor inconvenience but makes securing the final adjustment a bit difficult. there are some black anodized bolts and flanged nuts in the kit what for? i,m waiting for the bezels to arrive to do the installation. taking baby blue to an all new level of sexy!

Are you aware of the frame ground that is just under the fuse box on the top of the frame rail? Would be a more reliable ground for the relay. And probably easier to get to.
Great video and product! Just finished installing the passenger side. Quick question, when my lights are turned to off the low beams of the knight drive lights remain slightly lit, despite all other lights being off. The only way to turn them off is to turn on my high beams then turn off the high beams. Any fix for this or way around this?
34:11 Not to be a party pooper, but a 1964 engineering white paper showed results of testing all types of lock washers. The split type of lock washer you specify is by far the least effective, and basically doesn’t do anything once it is flattened. I would recommend a small amount of blue Loctite instead.
Just finished the install. Everything but the relay works perfectly. I tried 3 times on it to no avail. Fantastic video helped me through and the second side was so much faster. Thank you

We have been trying for 1.5yrs to make rgb boards with micro controllers. The company I work with now says they can get it done. They would all be cell phone controlled, at that point...any color.

Do you also have the lamps for Europe Germany? We need an E test mark here so that I can install the headlights. Without an E test mark it is illegal, unfortunately
I have previously installed a pair of the Depot fixed projection lights on my C5 and I’m thinking about upgrading to the sleepy eye headlight I still have the factory headlights can I install this kit in the factory headlights before I reinstall them back into the car or do I need to put the factory one in first and then go from there 🤔
I never had anyone do it that way, but I'd imagine it could be done. In truth though, getting the oem system back in operation first, being sure there are no issues, then installing the kit next would avoid any confusing troubleshooting, in the event something isnt working right.
Is there a way to just keep the lights up, like unplugging the motor or something? I don’t want to deal with the one coming up issue occasionally, it’s embarrassing and ive changed my motors and everything
My kit doesnt control them opening or closing. You must have some type of issue. I'd advise you to go into.the KnightDriveTV Corvette Enthusiasts group on fbook and get assistance. We can see what your install looks like and figure out whats happening
Hey man, I just ordered a pair of these and later found out about the all/6 harness. Is that now included in the kits, I saw it was on the order page for the harness, but not on the order page for the headlights and just wanted to be sure. Thanks!
so i’ve spend the past couple hours putting these in. when going to test to see if i had to flip around the tabs for the bulbs my headlights didn’t move down when i turned it off. now they will not go down automatically, i have to manually do it with the knobs. is there anyway you can help me?
When removing the up/down adjustment bolt, instead of using pliers to hold the torx bit, the box end of a 1/4” wrench/ratchet wrench would make life easier. Or it wouldnt, idk
I tried to relate to what tools people would easily have. I have special micro wratchets for the bits, but most people don't have them. I just tried to show what was easily accessible. The bit will slide backward in a box end wrench but it could work. My little bit wratchets lock the bit.
My kit was delivered about 2 weeks ago but I was away when they arrived. I just started the installation today and could only finish the drivers side due to only receiving 6 bolts. According to your instructions I need 4 for each side. That was a bit of a disappointment !!
Please read the instructions in the box, as this video is showing older hardware vs what you have received. Reading tge included paperwork, which is highlighted with arrows, is very important
Mechanisms can experience wear inside the gear and the armature. These should not move if the stops and dampers are both installed. You need some installation help over in the facebook group KnightDriveTV Corvette Enthusiasts group
Its all possible if you're willing to chop up your car. I am making a fixed kit that removes the motors. C7 lights wont work and itll look like hell. You need something that works with the lines and design flavor of c5. I have it comin
This isnt the place for install assist. Your plugs spund like you have them all upside down, the install video describes this condition. Call me, via my phone number on the website or post in the fb group
Youre not following the alteration on the paperwork that deviates from this video. The stop design has changed, as has the supplied hardware. This video advises, in the beginning, to CHECK FOR PAPERWORK, in the box.

Great vid! Just got mine today! Pro tip instead of a t30 bit and needle noses you can just use a 5/32 Allen key. Just be careful not to strip it!
Mines stripped already. Any tips to get around this?
@@brihilist5236 thought that comes to mind is super glue your tool to it and replace the stripped one.

Newer kits, (Aug 24') have i think 6 silver bolts and two black bolts. Use the black bolts on the height adjuster bracket 28:00

it’s a T30. Always the worst because T25 will just barely get you by, T27 almost, T30 super snug fit. That T25 will strip it for sure!

Once the headlight assembly hits the new stop, how does the motor know to stop? An amperage spike on the motor circuit?

They use the stock adjusters and have cutoffs. These dont blind anyone.

Itd be hard to justify the r&d cost given the small pool of buyers. Even with C5 its just enough

Anyone having trouble having the lights staying steady while driving? Noticed mine bounce quite a bit while driving night time off the highway signs

You could do that, but it would adversely impact the resale value, unfortunately.
