Isnt it nice to have friends to help you out! We do this with a friend that takes in hay every year. Also get together every fall for apple harvest and making cider. Like the Amish barn raisings. Hope you enjoy your greenhouse - boy you worked hard to get that up. Best wishes from Perth Ontario.

I’m so glad that tornado warning didn’t amount to anything the other day. I’m a few hours south of you guys and we only got a few high wind bursts luckily. It did start old glory shredding though, so I’ve ordered a new flag, and since that’s all that happened here I’m a happy guy. I’d would have hated to hear that greenhouse ended up in OZ! Not so sure they’d have wifi there.🤪
Anyway, I’m glad you got it all done without any major injuries too, it’s shaping up. Aren’t friends just the best?!

Congrats on getting it done before that wind really picked up, that is the major reason why I recommended that you get as many ppl as possible to help and start a early as possible, once that wind picked up if u didn't have it secured in a safe fashion bad things would have happened, at least your local friends were wiling to come and help you get it done without damaging the plastic. I know you probably said thanks to all your friends but anyway I will say it too here, thanks for helping him get it done quickly. (Now your gonna owe them some of those fresh vegetables you grow in that greenhouse). 🙂😉

You my friend, need a tin of Dermatone. I used it for years working as a ski patroller, ski lift mechanic, etc. It helps prevent frostbite and windburn and works on your face and lips. Works in the summer too when the wind is up or you're on the water. Comes in a small round tin that keeps in your pocket nicely.

Helping others is good for the soul. I learned by my late fathers example. Short story from 50 years ago. He saw a complete stranger in our neighborhood that had cement delivered for a walkway. Way too much for one man to complete before it would set. He dropped whatever errand he was on and came home, grabbed some trowels and me and my brother. With four of us working we managed to save the project.

Canada here. Everywhere seems to be fighting weather. Congrats on the plastic finally in place. Lots different than the old cedar, glass and putty greenhouses on foundations, of my youth. When the plastic greenhouses came in it was an amazing innovation, but deadly until they figured out they needed venting. And congrats on nearing 200000. You have the perfect formula of beautiful family that lives each other, hard work, great animal selection all together on this homestead.

    Great job on the greenhouse!
To help keep chicks out of the feed trays we found that attaching a short 2" x 2" x 4-6" long, perpendicular to the length, under the tray around 1" from each end, can keep the tray up toward chest level. When they first arrive just nestle the tray deep in the litter and lift it higher as they grow. You can use hook and loop tape to attach the 2 x 2. Staple the tape to the 2 x 2 and stick the other half of the tape to the bottom of a clean feeder tray. The 2 x 2 can be easily removed for feeder cleaning and storage and are cheap to replace.

Al and team, Nice job with the plastic. When we did my friend Franco's polytunnell it was a bit blowy. The cover was like a big bag sewn 2mx4.5m. I'm 6' but Franco is only short. Couldn't quite reach. One puff of wind and the whole thing was off the frame like a kite! We just had to let it go across the allotments and go again. Glad you had none of that nonsense 😁😁😀🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱 coming soon. Regards Stephen.

Wow, how exciting to have all the greenhouse plastic up! Nice to have good friends/neighbors to call on when the need arises too. Maybe you'll be able to grow some citrus trees in there? Perhaps if you added an additional plastic enclosure, like in the center area, in the winter, just for warmer weather fruits, it would allow them to overwinter successfully.

That tiller is a nice size to have for the size of your green house. Easy to maneuver in the confines of the plastic.

    Good morning from the UK.
Great to see the greenhouse build nearly finished. It must be such a relief to get the last big install done, hopefully the smaller tidy up and lock everything down parts won't take too long.
Hope the weather allows you to start moving animals out onto pasture soon, they'll be so much better for that access to fresh grass.
And that ability to carry on creating food for the year, regardless of the weather must be such a wonderful feeling. Can't wait to see how the planting goes.

Little female needs to be named Midnight! Al, I have been watching since Justin came to visit on the GAFT! You have come a long way since then. I have enjoyed the journey and look forward to the coming adventures. 💞

For some reason I expected you to use raised garden beds in your green house. Partly because of the height of it and partly because that's usually what I see in big green houses BUT I know next to nothing about gardening so I'm interested to see what you're going to do. I'm really glad the green house is now enclosed with the plastic. This was a very satisfying episode to watch.

Now that's what I call teamwork. Soon you will be able to have veggies from the high tunnel.

You have a great group of friends, I like how respectful you are of their time, I think it was so smooth because your were so meticulous and prepared. Looking forward to find out if Al's or Gina's garden is most successful.

Boy, that greenhouse looks great!! You will love working in there when it's nasty out. It feels so cozy and warm! Interested to see how you are going build up under the doors, maybe some flat rock buried to form like a saddle under the doors so " guests" don't invite themselves in to the " buffet" that is inside!! Also, what about a hog fence trellis between yours and Gina's sides like a living fence with the path in between. You can grow vine plants, like cucumbers or beans and Gina can grow maybe tomatoes and squash on her living fence area! Or give the trellises to Olivia and let her grow some kind of flowering vines for color( edible vines, nasturtiums, etc.) Whatever you guys decide, I'm sure it will look great! And just think, whatever doesn't work out, you can feed it all to the animals or till it under for next year. NO WASTE!!! Good luck and God Bless.
