@@jackyfrom_usa522Billie was the best part of the song, when the party’s over is a masterpiece
The Billie Eilish sample was so odd. She shoulda just gotten an actual feature or used her adlibs as atmosphere if she wanted to use her voice. Unlike most people I think it’s do-able but not in a typical fashion.
Why didn’t anyone say this to drake with his Tems sample?
@@tashiekakellyman7486didn’t drake only use Tems vocals, plus I think it was future who sampled her vocals
Thank you!! Finally, I’m not the only who thinks not having her as a feature is a wasted opportunity
Billie doesn’t do features I believe which why Finneaz himself produced the track and rearranged the vocals for Nicki to compensate but I agree the sample was poorly used and took up too much of the song.

Idk how she genuinely thought that this album lives up to Pink Friday’s name
I thought this album was gonna sound like “Romans Revenge”. That style of rap was mainstream chart music back in 2010, but if romans revenge was released in 2023, it would be a hit record and spark tonnes of conversation. That’s what is frustrating about this album. The blueprint to make this record unforgettable is right there!!! 😅

As a nonconforming-barb I really need her to get an experimental producer, a joint album with Arca would be fireworks, and drop something that is actually worth the 5 year waiting. For me it is at the bottom of her catalogue but still pull forced enjoyment out of it

Did anybody else find this album not living up to Nicki’s potential really depressing? I almost felt like I was in mourning of what could’ve been. I wanted this album to be her ‘Lemonade moment’ where she delivered the most polished and critically acclaimed work of her career. Now I’m wondering if the doubters were correct and the best music of her career is now behind her not ahead.
I think you feel that way because it’s not just an album full of mistakes. It’s an album without heart. Out of love for her, Of course many of those songs will grow on me, but when you know that her heart wasn’t in it, there really is no way to revive the feeling. It also goes against that indomitable fighting spirit that makes us believe in her.
She absolutely is. It's clear at this point that she's chasing relevance and TikTok hits. It's really sad seeing someone at her big age throwing shade at people nearly half her age.
Your expectations are just too high. It's just her and her producers. She don't have a team like bey or these new 360 rappers.
She’s always been mediocre and insecure. She definitely lived up to it. The problem is y’all failed to hype it regardless like they use to do in the past.
Go listen to her first album forward as a listener and not a fan and you’ll hear how basic it really was even at that time.
@@nalzazlan pause, you mean she doesn’t have a team like every single one of her peers, and every other artist in the industry. She chose this to her DETRIMENT
Nicki is VERY insecure and she surrounds herself with people who stroke her ego. It’s clear that for all her years in the game she STILL doesn’t know who she is as an artist and it shows. She doesn’t do well with competition. Notice how all her good work was done while she was the only top girl. Now that she isn’t the only one her work has taken a hit.
What competition? Her Presales are already going to out sell most of these girls albums. Anthony mad because she came for Meg.

@@mollyganasa621 I assume you're projecting, so this may come as a bit of a shock, but people having an opinion doesn't actually mean that they are mad.

@@MrLLLisLivingBarbit's their OPINION!
All of her albums are so bloated and long. Even her best album, The Pinkprint, would be substantially better if she cut out like 6 or 7 songs
agree
i feel like you can make a good album and for it to turn out to be a fluke. for example, while alanis morissette has had plenty of good songs over the years, Jagged Little Pill is one of the greatest albums ever made while all of her other albums are messy and incohesive. alanis (and it seems nicki) does not know what makes an album good
Man you said everything I feel about this record. I can’t believe the amount of bloat in this album, and I really like about 5 tracks out of the 20+. I could NEVER see Nicki Minaj opening an album with a song that features a pitched up Billie eilish track that takes up most of the time. The Queen would have NEVER back in the day. I was wincing, i miss the old pink Friday.
She needs to retire honestly. Nothing wrong with that. She dominated close to a decade but man, this ain’t it.

I liked alot of parts. Turn it up in the car and your kinda ready to party
Saaaame. So disappointed! None of these songs will be classics, quoted in decades, just made for tik toks zzzz 😭😭
As someone who actually likes Nicki, I feel like she could really benefit from collaborating with much more experimental producers.
Her specific sound always had the potential for it, and she's already solidied as a veteran in this music landscape so it's not like she really has anything to prove. I think it'd be good for Nicki to just take the time to just play, experiment and make some wild off-the-wall shit with producers who you'd never expect.
Yes honestly I believe she should go all the way with Hyperpop AG Cook
she doesn't care about her art anymore, this album was an example of it
This is a very good idea, because the production on this album sounded like something from 2001.
I feel like there wasnt that much budget to be quite honest
Get Dylan Brady to produce her a beat.
Its wild when you go to a new nicki song video the comments act as if its the best thing she's ever made. Its an insult to her legacy, she is way better than this. Being toxically positive no matter what she makes is helping no-one.
As soon as I saw her fans in her IG comments say “10/10” and “album of the year, queeeeen!!” I thought “oh no, Fantanos gonna hate this shit”

And the fact that the vinyl release is nothing but a cash grab, with only 10 out of 22 tracks from the album present. It’s more like an album sampler rather than the actual album. Amazing.

@@SavoryBubble333 the implication there is the majority of the songs were finished at the last minute for the digital release, if finished at all.

i feel like its her stubbornness with the people she surrounds herself with. She needs more young and diverse ideas/skills in production. I mean we saw it with the promotion, like they did that right, but the album had me so bored.
I’ve always wondered if the nail in the coffin was firing her team? Everything took a hit quality wise the moment G Roberson was out of the picture. I think she, and to be fair her fans as well, were caught off guard by the success, no matter how lable powered invasion of privacy was. So she dumped her team, not realizing that the newer girls production value would rarely ever reach Queen heights, and that another rollout even at that caliber would be considered a big budget phenomenon in 2023. she accomplished this with G Robberson.
@24kgoldplatedvermeil I always thought it had big label backing and big gp support. And it did phenomenal. However many years later we can see much clearer how much payola she needs, ( we don’t need to run down the list of shockingly understreamed songs) and it makes me question her commercial dominance from the beginning.
The barbz think every song is a banger, the album is trash, Nicki don’t like criticism and that’s sad..!
I miss when she'd incorporate more pop into her music. The original Pink Friday is still her best work imo. I can still rap all of Super Bass after all these years 😭😭😭
THIS. Honestly she's way better when she is in more pop centered instrumental WHILE putting her unique Flow of rapping. It's why I even consider Super bass as one of the best pop songs of the 2000s.

@@destinee8791 I said "more pop", I didn't say it didn't have any pop elements at all.

The album felt rushed. I know for a fact she didn’t start working on this 5 years ago. I don’t blame her though, she did have a child and probably devoted a lot of time to raising her son. I think she should’ve 1. Named it something different like “Life In Pink”, instead of her first album name and 2. She should’ve filled a lot of those empty gaps with more verses. The intro was almost entirely Billie Eilish. Idk. I think a lot of songs are growers

Nicki even knows that she isn’t the best singer so i’m not understanding why she made so many tracks that are 80% singing and 20% lackluster rapping. honestly Doja Cat might’ve had Nicki on her toes when it comes to versatility. because a female rapper having the best of both worlds isn’t common. so maybe she wanted to prove to everyone that she could do it too?? idk. Nicki never was a great singer but she definitely put in the effort to make it sound appealing. not sure what she was thinking this time
If she sing more in this album it’s simply bc she miss this side of hip hop, she said that in an interview last year. She loves this album because she had fun making it, she didn’t put pressure on her to please people or to prove something. She add to this album a bit of everything she loves in music, so I can totally understand that a lot of people feel like it’s a mixtape. At first i was confused about the album, I don’t hate it, it sounded fun to me but didn’t understand it, then I remembered the few times she talked about last year and in her vogue interview where she talked about it clearer than in her tweets and suddenly it made sense to me and made me feel like a retrospective to her career since the beginning. But you’re right when you say barbz hype her up too much, a lot of og fans think that too. bro he does not think sexy red is the queen of rap, don't be stupid. he is comparing their works to their respective skill level. the sexy redd album was good for what sexy red can do, this nicki minaj record is not good compared to how talented she is. i can't believe you don't understand this very simple concept. and though i disagree with him on giving it an 8, he said he enjoyed sexy red more because she was fun and funny, nicki on this record was neither fun (on most songs not all), funny and it wasn't good either, she went the drake route and released whatever because y'all would eat up anything she shits out. but the more she releases mediocre to bad albums her legacy will be questioned when more female rappers start releasing better records.
Yet here you are
@@gombocdimensional9050 Thats an unfair analogy. Nicki is her own brand as well. Shes not in competition with any of these new rap girls. None of them! He’s clearly showing favoritism.
she is better as a featured artist, not on her own
You a goof how you give this 3 but giving sexy redd an 8 recency bias has to be out of your reviews bro
you gave sexy red an 8, stop uploading
Get a life
The fact that she even named it pink Friday 2 is so tacky
But when male artist do similar like wayne it isn’t?
I said she should’ve named it “Life In Pink” or something like that.
@@ModusOperandiii no it is. Don’t try to spin this into sexism when it’s not.
If im being honest. The album was very disappointing. It was giving SoundCloud rapper. Bars and production value. It is mid at BEST. :/
Yesss. This album is TRASH. The barbs have drank the kool aid so bad they can’t even give fair, constructive criticism anymore. They’re just yes men. What’s the point of that?
Cringe album
I like the album but hey 🤷🏾♂️ this review seemed a little personal lol.
You obviously haven't heard Nicki Minaj catalog before forming an opinion. You have no idea what you are talking about. Doja is copying Nicki. Go listen to Grand Piano, the Queen album, Best I ever had ft Drake and see if who did it first Doja or Nicki.
Speak on it
Nicki is washed
Lorde last album flopped
She did better on Queen 😭
i need her to do a polished album like the pink print again
Nicki fans constantly showing why they're THE worst fan base in the comments, seethe and cope. If you like the album, why should it matter why anyone else thinks? It just shows you're deluded if anything.
they're very insecure just like nicki herself
You literally just rated SexxyRed's album an 8 out of 10. You cannot be trusted to review Hip Hop/Pop music. "Generic, soulless" when the album opener and closer are 2 of the most introspective songs she's ever done. Strange.
This album showed so much growth. But it’s a white mans opinion on a woman in rap who is now a mother and wife, and her music reflects that. What do you expect?
@@Lee.Lee.9 Honestly, I expected more of an unbiased review on a UA-cam channel with over 2 million subscribers. Especially from someone who claims to be a music connoisseur. It feels very targeted and almost bully-like.
@@iMstrKrft definitely. And for people to say they don’t see the growth is crazy. This album had the least amount of shots at other rappers. Her vocals, enunciation, and story telling has improved.she has every genre from pop to rnb. I do not take his opinion seriously at all.
@@Lee.Lee.9 they didn't listen to the album. And if they did, they listened with biased ears. There's NO WAY anyone could rate this album a 3/10 and not offer an actual explanation.
saying nicki is inspired by doja is crazy knowing nicki popularized pop-rap 😭😭
Yeah doja built off nicki but now nicki is copying doja
@@JGokuu how is nicki copying doja by doing the sounds she did in her last 3 albums
@@JGokuuthis makes no sense at all
1. Older artists can derive inspiration from newer artists. Eg; David Bowie's "Blackstar" was partly inspired by Kendrick's TPAB.
2. That's not all he said. He was referring to the more ballad-like songs that fem-hiphop has been cycling through.
LOUD & WRONG again. if you don’t know the history stop speaking on it. Y’all sound so ignorant. Nicki literally is the building block of “pop-rap” verses. If you listened to the original Pink Friday you would know that. Y’all white folks need to go review sabrina carpenter and leave our shit alone.
I’mma be dead honest with u .
I do not fw any female rappers at all really . But this album was legit nice. .
You gave Sexxy Redd a better album review, an that honestly sickens me . I feel like lately your music reviews have lost their credibility .
Doja "inspiring" nicki is crazy. But nobodies taking a white hip hop reviewer with a h!tler mustache seriously.
Period
I think she needs more of an experimental producer and lacks soul, she needs a better team and collaborators. However your bias and hate shows. There is no other female rapper bigger than her especially not Megan Thee Stallion. And this "dissing the girls" BS needs to move as you say nothing whenever the girls diss Nicki. Cobra had jabs at Nick and PIOTF did too. It's retaliation and rap stop being corny about it. This album sounded unfished and rushed imo.
also i think it was her lyrically weekest album with mostly bad/unfitted features to what pink Friday is
if she had spent more time in the studio instead of wasting away on twitter maybe this would have turned out ok.
saying doja cat inspired Nicki minaj to make pop records is literally the most disrespectfuI lie… if it wasn’t for Nicki, doja wouldn’t even exist.
Fantanos right though, if these other female rappers were around, what would Nicki even have to talk about anymore? Half her bars for the last 5 years are all about everyone’s copying her, it’s boring to listen to, doesn’t she have anything else to say anymore?
Doja Cat was only bringing back the pop formula that Nicki should never have abandoned. Abandoning it damaged her career. Nicki only returned to her pop format AFTER Doja Cat’s huge commercial success reviving Nicki’s 2010’s Pop formula on the charts. That’s what Fantano is talking about.
@@nameisamineDid you listen to the album plenty of tracks didn’t have anything to do with oops and where just fun love songs are pop hits
This logic is so funny to me. Female rappers existed before Nikki Minaj. Female rappers that paved the way for BOTH Nikki and Doja. Doja would be just fine if Nikki didn't exist, because Doja is currently pulling from artists that were big in the 90's before Nikki was even a thing. Doja only made pop music similar to Nikki's because that's what her record contract demanded of her. That why Scarlet is so different. The barbs just like to think Nikki created rap music.
@GhostlyEcheveria Nicki didn't create rap music but she sorta created the pop-rap genre. And it clear that doja cat was inspired by her in that sense
@@EEEEEEEEEEEEEW I don't disagree. Doja has said herself that Nicki is an inspiration. But to say that Doja wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Nicki is a logical fallacy. Barbs don't need to be so extreme. lol.
Im gonna say it cuz no one else will: nicki peaked artistically on her first album and has been coasting off that ever since. A couple fun singles in between but lets not kid ourselves
Pinkprint is her best album I'd say, but what her first album does best is showcase why she's such a superstar. Her bombastic persona and theatricality really made an impact, especially coming after the 2000's when most big named rappers took themselves soooo damn seriously. She showed that hiphop can be fun and campy while still retaining what makes it great, and that combining it with pop doesn't always have to mean watering it down. But damn, ol girl woke up one day and decided to just stop being fun and stop putting her best foot forward just so that she could cater to her delusional fan base and chase cheap, microwavable hits
queen exists btw! let that distracct you from how horrible pf2 was
Pink print is good and has some banger tracks after that she fell off hard AF
Nicki's peak was 2011-2012 thats a fact. Pinkprint was decent but Iggy owns that year with Fancy, and his Queen era you know, its the Cardi and his hate train era. But even that, props to Nicki for his longevity, his music is ass but she's been very active lately.
PinkPrint and Pink Friday are her best work
This opinion is so biased and bs. You clearly have never listened to pink Friday or followed nicki if you think she takes inspiration from Any of these new girls. Nickis most famous songs are pop songs. She ran so these new girls can walk and I’m so tired of people complaining about the content of her music. What topics do you guys want her to rap about? Do you ever tell rap men to stop rapping about fxking women and firing guns? Do you tell RNB artists not to sing about love? What are you even trying to say? You wanted her whole album to be monotone?
I think Nicki would benefit so much from a co-writer. I know she despises rap girls who use writers but we all know Nicki can spit. Co-writer would take the strain off her and help flesh out better songs. Also narrow the track listing and have actual singers on the hooks. Try to keep the singing minimal on her part. I want better for her. She has nothing to prove, get some assistance and make fire music.
You don't think she used co-writers throughout this album?
@@professorXcrossshe didn’t
@@avasti3866 sauce?
"... she despises rap girls who uses writers..." So what was Safaree again? 🤔😂
@@suigeneris886 safaree admitted to lying about writing for her, and multiple other rappers (kanye, lil wayne, drake, tyga, future, meek mil to name a few) have confirmed that they’ve watched nicki write multiple times. additionally azealia banks had a collab with safaree, where she admitted she had to write his verse for him due to illiteracy. don’t believe everything you read, its not hard to fact check things.
Listening to this album was actually heartbreaking to me because I'm not sure Nicki can ever be the artist she was when she put out albums like Pink Friday and The Pinkprint. She was the first to do so many incredible things and to see her curate a whole album to go viral is a hard pill to swallow. So many of the songs are rip-offs of what other artists have done before. At least it would be impressive if she did it better but she didn't. The Cowgirl track especially was such an obvious attempt to recreate Doja Cat's style even down to the producer (Dr. Luke who worked on Hot Pink with Doja). The best songs on Pink Friday 2 don't even come close to the worst songs on Pinkprint. No individuality, no clear direction, lacks creativity and passion. I'm starting to think she just put out this album to make a quick buck. The album will go number one but will definitely fall off next week, none of the songs are projected to even make it in the Billboard Top 20. She sold 200k units so at least she made her money I guess....
Sounds like a 2017 SoundCloud mixtape
everyone saying they had high hopes for this album is so odd to me, nothing she’s done in the past 5 years made me think this album was gonna good
Red ruby grew on me, ( a real melodic chorus) and the features were getting more exciting. We had a lovely surprise with Princess Diana, budget wise as well. And flourishes like endless fashion truly convinced me that she was going to be able to master melody again, and truly set the mood with actual songs, but when she thought that adding a second verse to the last time I saw you would be “doing too much “, I knew we were getting a thinned out concoction.
@@cunningfox7838 Same! She hasn't had a quality song to me, since Chun-Li. Last time she rapped with hunger and quality.

he explicitly said the atmospheric type songs doja loves to dabble into he did not say pop as a genre period. he literally praises the og pink friday and its influence/timelessness as a pop/rap album so many times in this like yall just want to be mad for the sake of it atp
i loved the album and i am a barb, but that aside truly unbiased, her "younger" and "more relevant" competition are girls in their late 20s/30s also they are 100% not more relevant than nicki. i like some of the girls like meg but she isn't more relevant than nicki neither is latto or cardi. you are allowed your opinion on her album but let's stick to the facts. thanks.
So from this review so far you’re tryna say that Nicki Minaj the literal epicenter of female rap , was taking desperate shots at Megan and she needs the newer girls to stay relevant ????? 😂 lmao this is some crazy opinion’s for a bunch of girls that only can rap about twerking and robbing men. Atleast Nicki had something to talk about , first track brought me to tears
This album sounds like unfinished work

Anthony, you can’t just rate the album poorly because, “you’re already in a committed relationship with Sexyy Red.”
Unrelated but you need to review Baby Tates Sexploration: The Muscal, it’s an Ep/Mini-Album that has a music video for each song that forms a sort of visual album and each song is really nice
I love nicki but i heard the album and something was weird about it, like what is this about? So I came here, and Im totally agree. Sab but true Nicky
