Jared Ross is an attorney-lobbyist in Tallahassee. He knew Wendi and Charlie Adelson in high school, and later met Dan Markel when he was a law student at Florida State University and reconnected with Wendi Adelson there. Dan Markel was a criminal law professor, originally from Montreal and Toronto, who was shot by Sigfredo Garcia on July 18, 2014 in his garage. Markel and Wendi Adelson had gone through a contentious divorce and custody case and shared custody of their two young sons. Three days after Markel was shot, Adelson left for S. Florida with her parents and the children and never spoke with investigators again. Charlie Adelson was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in late 2023 for his role in the murder for hire. Charlie and Wendi's mother Donna Adelson faces the same charges and will be on trial in September 2024. Wendi Adelson has been named as a co-conspirator but has not been charged with any crimes so far.

If WENDI had zero involvement and just found out the truth at Charlie's trial then why hasn't she visited her brother in jail,, supported him and talked on the phone with him? If I was extorted my family would support me unconditionally. Her actions do NOT match her words. Her whole story, words and actions are inconsistent and full of lies.

Honeythief - that doesn't make sense because she was still letting her sons communicate with Charlie while he was in jail- letters & possibly phone calls.
@@honeythief I am a mother and if I saw a police tape anywhere near where my daughter was...even in the same town ...I would call her to find out how she was. If she wasn't behind the the crime she would have certainly called creative preschool or Dan or a neighbor because every mother would. And if she didnt kid she is neglectful. In the white cloud in Manhattan on September 11th I kept thinking Where's my daughter? Is she safe? and she was living in Florida at the time and I would sigh with relief when I remembered that. That's what mothers do.
She was also wearing a tuto owl T-shirt which was ugly and not in her style on the date of tutos pulling into her driveway on trescott.
And no one fixes televisions. Even poor people replace them with new ones. there's a lot more but hat's enough for me.

Jared provided some new tidbits I hadn’t heard. Very interesting. At 28 min, my reaction to Wendi contacting Jared after Dan’s murder was that Wendi was totally trying to find out what the Tallahassee community was speculating about the murder. Wendi is the type of woman who is called a succubus. She fooled Dan & Jeff, both intelligent men. I see right through her. Even if she wasn’t involved in this case, if I met her I would feel those evil vibes. One day justice for Dan will be complete. She may be 60 when they get her. Fanci said she knew Wendi was involved when she watched Wendi's police interview. Now, knowing what we know from all the trials & publicly released information, her interview seems so phony, performative and manipulative to me.

The murder and erasure of a good man who just wanted to be a good father. The suffering of his parents, his sister, and his extended family and friends, just so she could move the boys to the beaches of Miami, only to move them to Austin.

When Jared Ross's wife immediately said on hearing of Dan being shot "it was a hit," are we to assume she thought it was a hit ordered by the Adelsons? I wish that comment had been explored more. Why did she think it was a hit?
So she definitely thought the Adelsons had something to do with it immediately. My wife does criminal appellate work for the State, so she often reads cases similar to this. Her mind tended to be less emotional than mine on this. While I wanted to think the best of a longtime friend (Wendi) and her family, she was quick to think it was suspicious.
@@JRoss1010This is a great example of how often those close to a crime or criminal can’t view it objectively and want to believe the best/view it through their emotions. So sad.

Makes sense. She was used to being the golden girl & at FSU law, Dan had greater status as a tenured professor.
Or that they are being challenged and can’t deal with the loss of control that comes with someone not co-signing their bullshit. I have a feeling Dan called Wendy out on a LOT of stuff and her back went up when she wasn’t simply being enabled.
Donna said on a wiretap call in 2016 with Charlie that Wendi’s Judge she clerked for in Mami was friends with a judge in Tally and he was giving info to Wendi’s judge and he was in turn telling Wendi what was happening in the case !!

I am glad to offer prayers for what is right in this case, because I think none of the Adelsons understand all human life is sacred, & not made for us to fabricate complaints against them.
I saw a news article on a case that might interest you- Lindsey Lowe.
She was convicted of killing her kids and received 56 years. After serving 9 years, something came out about a juror, and the original Judge on the case threw out the conviction. She has been out for 2 years.
A couple of days ago, the appellate court re-instated the conviction, ruling that there was no evidence of wrongdoing by the juror.
Just search her name- it’s pretty interesting.

Here's the nail in the coffin for Wendi - when Sigfredo texted Katie the murder was done, which happened a couple of hours later but clearly after Wendi went to the crime scene, Katie answer ed "I know." How did Katie already know? Wendi was the only conspiratory on the ground in Tallahasse. And she saw the crime scene! Done.

Ummm I’ve said it. I think she was involved. I didn’t for a while when everything first happened but who wants to believe their friend did anything evil like that? With the benefit of hindsight and much more evidence, I do believe Wendi was involved. I did an entire video on why I think her laryngitis excuse was garbage.

Just as I hope his boys find all these channels supporting Dan Markel & putting out the real truth. Not the “Adelson’s story”.

Does Jared Ross or Judy think Wendi might have committed a provable perjury when she said her divorce lawyer drafted all those motions and that she, Wendy, had nothing to do with them? Seems like her email account might tell a different story. Is all of that correspondence protected?
I know nothing about Florida law, but Brother Counsel did a video talking about how perjury also requires showing that the objectively false statement was made knowingly & was material to the previous case (paraphrasing from memory). It could also construed that Wendi meant she didn't actually draft & file the motions, which could have been true since she had an attorney. All the lawyers commenting on the case say that perjury charges are very rarely brought. The good thing is that Wendi is not a great liar, so the jurors have seen through her, and her lies/waffling/claims of not remembering have ultimately been detrimental to the defendants.
@@aalegalfocus I guess if they confronted Wendi with language in her emails that ended up in the legal briefs, she can claim-among other things-that she has the worst memory in the world, and, under Florida law, she is okay. Seems like the law needs some reform, but anyway, you are right. Her “I’m such a ditz” act on the stand protects her from the law, but it definitely hurts the people who helped her carry out her crime.

Maybe it is because I am not a layer, but it is hard for me to hear complements about Wendi although I understand that Jared Ross is doing it in the context of his initial impressions of her before the murder. Still is hard.
I don’t think it has anything to do with you not being a lawyer, it’s your view of her is set by what you know from the information available to you. My initial years of knowing her had nothing to do with the context of Danny’s murder and that’s what I am trying to convey. But believe me, my thoughts of her now are not flattering.

I'm pretty sure the prosecution already has it. That "press release" appeared in the media too, where the lawyers said that any idea that the Adelsons were involved in Dan's murder was nothing but "fanciful fiction."
There was no need for me to turn it over. It was a mass email that was basically a press release. The prosecution had access to it. The email was basically a link to their press release.

Judy did you hear in the jail calls Donna said she looked into someone writing a book, or a doc-series, on their side of the story? And Charlie was saying it too? I wonder if anyone can find out if the Adelson’s reached out to production companies or publishers? Or the innocence project? I wonder if the Adelson’s reached out to the Innocence Project since Josh Dubin was there?
I don't recall hearing about that. Charlie already has an appellate attorney, so I don't think the Innocence Project would take on his case now.

It probably did bore him, & Wendi's claim in her writing class podcast that he didn't read it was false. At least one of Dan's friends later told his mother that Dan had read her book. He also spoke glowingly of Wendi & her book on Prawfsblawg & helped publicize it.

Before you give your money to some dubious organization don't you want to check first what they are all about? Jared is now a Board Member of a commercial operation that uses the name of Dan Markel. It is not a Non-Profit organization; it is a Profitable commercial operation. Jared cannot even precise what the project is all about. He says that they are "ironing out details." Nevertheless, they already have a Venmo account for the requested money.
Ruth Markel knows about & approves this organization, because it has been built up for many years by some of Dan's friends, who are also her friends. Justice for Dan started up first as a Facebook group in 2014 or 2015 & the UA-cam channel has also existed for years. It was just recently that they incorporated, & it's hard to plan activities without knowing what kind of budget they're working with.
We are NOT a profitable organization. We just are not set up as a 501(c)(3) organization. There are non-profits that aren’t charitable. Might want to check the tax code. There’s nothing dubious about this. I said we are ironing out details on the project we are working on to honor Danny’s legacy. But hey, let’s inject your own negativity into something that is supported by Danny’s family.
