Infuriating car trend #1: giving billions in bail-out money to US car companies that fail to improve quality, design, or customer satisfaction in 20 years when they will ultimately ask for another bail-out.

I feel like the whole ipad screen popped up after tesla released their redesigned model S and X . It just goes to show how much tesla has now influenced the car market with manufacturing pushing a "teslafication" with ridiculous horsepower and acceleration figures , screens for dash controls , bigger and heavier sedans and the whole aerodynamic design language. And in that regard i love what the engineers and desginer at Bugatti has done with the Tourbillion - remove screens and bring in analog dials !
What really pisses me off about EVs is that the complexity is B's they are functionally nothing more than a electric motor and a battery just look at early EVs from the 1910s they are dead simple meanwhile a ice car needs a gas tank engine fuel pump intake system exhaust system battery and a bunch of clocks to make sure everything runs in sync also if you want to make it practical add a charging system the only reason why modern EVs are complicated is because they have a bunch of luxury features that drain the battery and a bunch of computers and panels to scare you away from repairing your car and making sure you physically can't repair anything
Thank you so much for your comment and for supporting my channel by watching the video, I really appreciate it! You are absolutely right! We will get to a point where no one will be able to with on the cars we drive Because the software will be locked and the manufacturers will have complete authority over the prices they charge for any little thing. And everything will have to be done through them.
As a huge car enthusiast, I agree with everything you said. The screens are just awful! My friend was going to buy a new Mustang and then a new BMW, but walked away from both because the iPad-ish dash on both were distracting and just downright ugly. Worse still is when you get a rental car, it is nearly impossible to figure out in a timely manner how to work simple functions like audio and climate control, because everything has menus three and four deep. I also agree on your pursuit of power statement. A few years ago I bought a Jaguar F-type R with 550 horsepower and an automatic transmission. Hated it. Less power and manual transmissions are the way to go for enthusiasts unless you are going to track the car. I could go on and on but I would be just repeating what you so eloquently stated. Great video; wish the manufacturers would listen but they won't because buyers just want it easy.
@gixxer750r3 Thank you so much for your comment and for supporting the channel by watching my video, I really appreciate it! Yeh Its crazy, when I saw the new mustang, I too thought it was excessive. It looks great, and is awesome for having a manual, but once you sit infront of the giant screens it just turns me off. Its crazy how all the manufacturers are now jumping on that bandwagon... Its really frustrating... Good for you for getting the F-Type R! I always wanted one, but couldnt justify getting one because I really wanted a manual and they only sold the base models with a manual more recently. Absolutely! The excessive power and paddle shifting is great for the track, but takes so much of the experience away when you just want to enjoy a drive. Thank you so much! You never know, maybe if enough people agree it could change the manufacturers perspectives. Either way, it was worth a video :)
Especially on that first complain, that's why I love my Volvo. The screen isn't huge, it's not in my way, it's super easy to understand. I don't even have an issue with the AC controls being on the screen because they designed is so well!
Thank you so much for your comment and for supporting my channel by watching my video, I really appreciate it! Yes, screens are definitely great when they are designed and integrated well.
I really dislike big screens on new cars. I miss my 1976 Mercedes 280S. It had wood in it and was nice. Didn't need a screen. Also, my new cars both have A/C controls on the screen, and that's horrible. I agree completely on the aerodynamics part. Regarding power, I did a test drive on the MG4 X power with 435 hp and just felt it's too much. I just ordered the X Range, which is the same car but has 245 hp. 435 is absolutely insane, when just two seconds of pressing the accelerator can give my kid a concussion. I don't do hybrids. Either go electric, or don't. Keep it simple. The weight issue is also terrible. I had a 1994 Renault Twingo that weighed less than a ton. My Citroen C3 weighs around 1300 kg and my MG weighs as much as a 1970s Mercedes S-Class.

Here in Norway you now get a 1000 $€£ fine if you use the touch screen or use a mobile phone while driving, meaning in modern cars you have to stop the car and park to adjust ANYTHING in the car now, or risk a huge fine... .
@@a64738 wow that's amazing! I had no idea! I'm happy with my 2022 Mazda CX-30 w/no touchscreen & the smaller, recessed display that doesn't look obnoxious on the dash, but the Mazda different way of doing things tends to be a love or hate sort of thing I have noticed. I also have no interest in pairing/connecting my smartphone to my vehicle in any way. I love that my Mazda has a modernized-version 6-speed automatic instead of a belt/chain design CVT transmission like pretty much everyone else.

Interesting points to consider. I also want to touch on all the in-vehicle screens. I think they're problematic from a safety perspective. Take a simple task like adjusting the climate controls. Used to be a simple task, one that could be done eyes-free while keeping your eyes on the road. I knew the feel of knobs and buttons in my vehicles and could adjust without taking my eyes off the road. Now, I'm forced to visually navigate multiple screens to do the same task. It's a huge safety concern.
@@joshtrujillo1674 I completely agree, that's a great point! The touch sensitive buttons and integrating everything into the screens really means we have to take our eyes off the road to perform simple tasks.

@@Drivers-Edge Agree. I drive one with 360hp and I already feel it’s overwhelming at times. Perhaps pickup trucks might need more if they are hauling stuff or if you have an SUV that will haul boats or caravans. Otherwise even 500 is more than plenty.
For motorcycles here in Norway you have a power limit, but it is based on the weight. To have just a power limit is meaningless... A 200hp car that weighs 700kg will accelerate like a rocket, the same 200hp engine in a Subaru Forrester that weigh 1600kg feels slow, in fact slower then my old 100hp Opel from 1974. I was supriced that a car with 200hp like the Subaru could feel so slow.... Weight and power go hand in hand when it comes to acceleration and setting a power limit that do not account for weight and other factors also is just stupid...
