Crazy to think and if I'm not mistaken, Simona Amanar was the only woman in the world ever that performed/competed that vault on the old vaulting table.
Zamolodchikova did compete it on the old horse at 2001 France Telecom Finals (the table was introduced at Worlds later that year), and she would've competed it at the 2000 Olympics as well, but she had some ankle problems that ultimately forced her to stick to the DTY.
Thank you, I didn't know that, however, the thought had crossed my mind that if any other gymnast would have been capable and brave enough to do it, it would have been Zamolochkova 😊. She had an incredible double twisting Tuskahara and even bigger double twisting Yurchenko.
It also helped that the difference in D value between the Amanar and DTY was high enough that it made sense to go for it. The Amanar has been devalued so much compared to the DTY that it makes no sense to go to go for the Amanar unless you are amazing at doing it.
@@ClarkJohnson-oq9ue I think an even bigger factor is how much stricter the form requirements are now. The Amanar was a worthwhile upgrade for Aly Raisman in 2016, but even though it's only been downgraded by 0.1 relative to the DTY since then, that Amanar would no longer outscore her DTY. The E deductions alone would make the Amanar not worth it, but she'd also be regularly seeing it credited as a DTY because of underrotation.
@@jorgesteingruber661 Form deduction isn't taken much on vault at the Olympics. The main problem for gymnasts who did Amanar poorly in Paris was mostly uncontrolled landing. D score is a big factor for the decline of Amanar.
The way the whole 2012 team had an amanar up their sleeve. Thats how you knew they were going to win😭
They all did it really well too.
@@lovely8888888raisman’s form was horrendous. She challenged Paseka for worst form on vault
Amanar in Paris quad in the United States: Jade Carey ...
we blame the FIG but kudos to jade anyways
McKayla Maroney 💜

Jay Jay Marshall also did one at JO nationals
Seeing Jordyn reminded me that she’s having a baby Razorback this year.
OMG I got an Acrobat ad before a tumbling viddd

@ I don’t recall Raisman under rotating her Amanar in 2012 or 2016. I do remember the horrid form though.
