do you happen to remember the part number for the solenoid you swapped on the back of the "Y" throttle body pipe? I've been chasing the same symptoms for awhile. replaced plugs, wires, coils, coilpack connections and new wiring soldered in all the way to the Vvt-i solenoid. cleaned out the OCV filter as well. Timing belt water pump was done as well. did the valve on the canister today. I purchased the solenoid that according to rockauto goes on the I'm but it's not the correct one. the little ports for the vacuum lines are too small. no part store has any idea wth it is. Toyota/Lexus dealer is shrugging their shoulders as well.
Any possibility you could tell me what plugs into the airbox? We bought the same car and that electrical plug is missing and we don't know what it is. Ours is in limp mode as well
brenthanks44 sounds like you are talking about the MAF sensor. Without that your car would barely move. It tells the computer how much air is coming in as well as it’s temperature and speed. This allows it to mix properly with the gasoline.
I have the P440, 441 442 and 446 Evap codes. Did the gas cap and it stayed away for a good few months but now it’s back. I also tightened down some lose hoses in the engine bay. Any suggestions before doing a smoke test?
I have same car 2001 gs300 lex And im showing code p0302 nd p0300 vsc light is on as well feeling the nag on it when i drive it i was told it can be soark plugs or ignition coil what should i do? Any suggestions ?
young weegie I would definitely start with knowing how old both your plugs and wires are. Since you are getting the P0300 it’s probably not just your number 2 cylinder. Other things it could be is your injectors or the spark plug wiring assembly. For me it was the switch that I speak about in the video. Only after I replaced everything else did I determine this though. The VSC light will always come on when there is a random misfire. If you feel an actual physical misfire than you probably have a spark problem. This car is difficult to diagnose that because you have to remove the throttle body to get to the plugs.
young weegie honestly, I don’t think it’s the coil because this engine is 3 coils and 3 wires so if a coil goes you would have 2 cylinders down and the car would barely move. My advice would be to check the injectors . Listen to them with a screwdriver while the car is running. Check out ChrisFix for how to video. If you do want to change your plugs , coils, and wires you might as well change your valve cover gaskets if they’re leaking because you have to remove the throttle body anyway. Watch SpeedKar99 for videos on that.
Thanks alot man and its showing that my spark 2 and 4 is down but i am going to need valve cover gasket as well cuz i see the oil and i think is what cause it to misfire feom the oil that went in the plugs got loose but thanks alot ima replace all of it at once like u said
So how much money you end up spending until the problem fixed. I know that engine is bulletproof. I plan on buying a use one with 150,000 miles for $3000 (gs300) is it worth it?
@@Mrbeastfanclub832 Mass Airflow Sensor. It's right after the air filter on the plastic tubing leading to the throttle body. Has a connector with 4 - 6 wires. It measures how much air is being ingested by the engine and it used in fuel flow adjustment. If the MAF is reporting less air is entering the engine than is actually entering then the fuel injection can try to to run too lean (not enough fuel). Cleaning the MAF with commercially available sprays can help remove junk from the sensor and help it read accurately. It usually takes less than 5 minutes to clean one. If you use oiled air filters like a K&N it's much more common for it to get dirty quickly.
Been having the same evap problem thanks broo for the heads up
P0440 on these is the overfill check valve, under the rear seat above the gas tank, they crack after a while
Damn I hope this works. Been chasing misfires for weeks. Thx
It worked. Hoses didnt even have clamps on them. Thx again
@@danielamone6630 did you replace the valve or just put clamps on the hose's?
This was awesome info thanks for the help

Should be called a canister Purge Valve Solenoid, THe number is on the side of it aswell if you still have yours :)
I bought the exact car but black the same month&year you bought this thats crazy😅

Not really. It is a real pain to track these leaks down. Have a quality shop smoke test it and you’ll save money on parts that you didn’t need to buy.

Raiya 111 probably another $1000 . I’d say that it’s worth it.
İ have this whole car for 2000 dollars in Pakistan Balochistan.
Hey my friends. I have an 01' Gs300 w/200k runs smoothly. Any suggestions on value?
Great work!
I was hoping you show evap hoses i think i put them wrong
My supra runs very rough and its misfiring too driving me crazy and to top it of my engine light is not turning on
Where is the cold start solenoid located
Is it easy to change out coil connectors? Have to just remove throttle body?
Yes. Buy all of the clips and connectors as well because everything will break because the plastic is very brittle because of the heat.
4:00 PURGE VALVE for people looking for it
Where is cylinder 2 on the 2jz?
The second one back from the front
@@alfredlyon27 thank you my friend. I finally tracked down a p0302 code on that cylinder. Luckily they aren't difficult to get to on the GS300
Thank you.
I think I'm going to guy buy this part today from Auto Zone and try it. This P0300 code is pissing me the fuck off bro.
br3wskee I’ve driven over 5K miles now with no problems or check engine light.
Clean the MAF for misfires too
What is MAf

You can't brake clean an evap leak
Im glad someone said it💀 car has an evap leak not a vacuum leak. Two different things.
U got alot of time and money!! Keep wasting it
Nah, what he did was make the car good for another 100k and probably way more. For 1k dollars that kind of reliability is pretty cheap.
