    Been using the Lee model for several years. It hasn't failed me yet even after thousands of milsurp cases with crimped primers.

    Lee just keeps going and going strong. One item less costly among many over priced items I have.

    After breaking many decapping pins on FL sizing dies a friend recommended the Lee, but insisted I get the pins from Squirrel Daddy.
    I did in fact bend the Lee pin and since I installed the SD pin, I haven’t had a single problem.
    Good die. Good pin. All done.

    After breaking the pin on my 9mm resizing die thanks to a berdan primer, i got the lee universal decapper with undersized pin and i use that for all my decapping regardless of flashhole or primer size.
    Very happy with it.
    Running it on a single stage press allows me to feel for berdan primers by using gentle handle strokes. Any resistance and ill stop and check.
    Also use it as first step in my reloading process.

    Will at FW makes a hell of a product. Buy with confidence. That auto center and ejector is so nice.

    I've been using Lyman's decapping die for over 30 years with outstanding success. Decapping first has been part of process since that time and nothing will change that. When I listen to how others have fine tuned their process we all seem to end up pretty much with the same process steps. I was intrigued with the FW Arms full primer popper with the centering sleeve and intrigued to the point I had to have one and it's now been ordered.
    Once again great video!

    I fully abide by the decap=>wet tumble=>inspect=>resize process order of operation. I have a Lee APP press set up for decapping and it doesn't take long at all. I'm satisfied with the Lee die but I may pick up one of the FW Arms universal decapping die anyway just to see (once they are off backorder at Midway). I don't think I can go wrong at that price.

    For depriming with perfect alignement you can also use a bushing neck sizing die (without bushing).

    I much prefer a Harvey Deprimer. If I have to sort through mixed brass, I might as well knock the primer out in the process and I've never really liked depriming on a press. The fact that I didn't need shellholders helps to expedite the process. Given that I tend to shoot a lot of different calibers, this is a setup that works well for me

    Seeing as I already had a case prep unit, I deprime and then do the primer pocket onthe case prep unit, then onto the sizing process. I don't run an autoloader, so, not tossing cases into the dirt, can clean when lubing if necc on the odd one. FA case prep unit is cheap for that purpose. I also run two presses, one to decap, clean the pocket, lube, also size on two presses, one to size, one to expand, trim, chamfer, done.Goes PDQ.

    I prefer using the Lee APP (auto progressive press) with auto case feeder in conjunction with the Lyman spring loaded de-capping die. Makes de-capping so fast and easy, almost within the blink of an eye.

    I dont like the Dirt from Primers on my Press so i have gone with the FA Handdeprimer and yes there are small Pins available for Lapua i have decapped thousends of cases with this tool and never broke one pin with it
    The Lee Rods are the replacement for this

    A little surprised you didn't look at the Area 419 Zero Spring-Loaded Decapping Die ... it's pretty cool - works great for me now that I've graduated from the double-pumping that was routine on my Lee Decapping Die.

    A good decapping die is worth the price of 2-3 Lee/Hornady dies. I have a Might Armory that has proven to be indestructible.
    Recently, I got a FW decapping die which pops the primers out for my Dillon. It is the way to go for Dillons.

    Do you own any custom rifles that shoot well? If so, why do you choose to use budget factory rifles on the channel that showcase less than stellar precision?

    • @BoltActionReloading
      @BoltActionReloading  3 місяці тому

      Hi Steve, You are certainly not the first to point this out, but when you aren't more specific and I have no idea what specific videos you are basing this on, ( I think I have more than 250 videos at this point) I really don't know how to respond. I have 6CM and 223 Rem groups that shoot .25 MOA and 300 Win Mag that shoot 1-3" depending on what you feed it. That is what life throws you some days. I have 2 very nice custom rigs, but own factory rigs as well cause not everyone can afford it and I want everyone to be able to learn if they want. Best to all, but I spent too long thinking I had to have better everything than I really did to be successful. I just want everyone to go try it if that is what they want rather than thinking if they don't dump 5 grand they can't play this game.

      I have one. It works better on some calibers than others. It’s as fast as using a depriming die on a press but the biggest advantage for me is that I can do this process anywhere in the house, I don’t have to sit on the bench on the garage.

    • @TheBlitz667
      @TheBlitz667 3 місяці тому

      @@VincitOmniaVeritas7 That is the main reason I am thinking about getting one. I plan on reloading mostly .308 brass and can't think of a good reason why not to get one. Except the expense, of course
