Hello David. Great information for Chicama trip. I met you briefly in Hood River in July on the streets next to my truck -- I had the Amos KrUzer 36L board with Foil Drive. The tow in foiling looks epic at Chicama. What do you think about taking a Foil Drive to Chicama -- airline travel batteries are coming out soon for Gen2 FD.
Hi. I remember!! Just use the boats. I don’t think your foil drive is necessary. Also, I don’t think the battery will last very long. It is a huge playing field with a long ride out to the furthest break. Just use the boats. Still room on my September 2025 trip.
How much power do the boats have? For my smallest foil, the lift 70, I need about 30hp. Would be cool to try that foil. Although I think the wave would probably not be steep enough. But still would be fun to try.
Nice...Looking forward to our trip in May!
Very informative, thanks David.
Cheers

HP of motors varies from 25-40. Smallest I have tried has been the Lift 100. I thought it would be hard to get up on, but it was pretty easy.
@@Foiljourney ok, that should be fine. Thanks!
Thanks nice vid.
Any tips on water temps ? Wetsuits?
@@whenitswindy7034 usually 3mm. But a 4mm is helpful for colder months like July, Aug, Sept
Is there a place to rent foil gear in chicama?
