@@facuokinggton7509 For sure. And if they'd kept the same attitude, as well. Like, they're cheap disposable terminators who can sometimes provide humorous moments due to faults in their programming, but their programming can't be flawed to the point that they're talkative idiots.

Had it been switched over to the more dumb grunting B2s (who by the way, I’m pretty sure only speak in one episode) they could’ve been a bit more threatening because their either complete evil or their stupid idiots. Cant have both.

@@geetslys The GONK armor plating could not only rival, but completely destroy Beskar and the Zillo beast’s scales upon contact. Legend has it that GONK armor once reflected a lightsaber back into the user and that GONK droids are the force itself.
You could take gonk droids and turn them into mini nukes, then carpet bomb the crap out of them

Since battle droids often acted as garrisons for Separatist worlds, I like to think that service models like the pilot and firefighter droid would be found in the civilian sectors, performing jobs that would've been hazardous to organic beings. (Plus it would match the PR the Confederacy spread in saying how they used droid armies to avoid risking the lives of their citizens in combat)
The B1 makes a perfect servant class. Can do just about anything passably, and they are expendable.
How about a video of Battledroids with unique personalities like R0-GR and Mister Bones?

You know I really like the fact that there is so many different variations B1 battle droids, instead of a bunch of specialty models.
Because it really makes sense from a manufacturing standpoint, it's a lot easier to retool a factory to make a specialized version of a already-established template, Instead of switching the factory over to a completely new template.
And that just really fits in with the quantity over quality CIS way of doing things.
Intentional or no, the B1-A air battle droid seems to be a counter for clone commandos.

I want a B2 or Dwarf Spider Droid. Probably a Dwarf Spider Droid because its like having a big mechanical dog/mole with a small laser howitzer lol. Plus those Big Red eyes look adorable staring at you like a dog to probably lol.

Well if there were no siths then the war wouldn't have happened. And if order 66 wouldn't have happened then the republic would have won since during ROTS Grievous died and we all know if he's out of the picture then the republic would have the upper hand

My favorite droids in Star Wars are the B1's - Purely because for being a bunch of functional idiot death bots- They seem like if they'd have a choice in the matter they would really just be more home doing other things than fighting in the Clone Wars. Plus when they develop their own unique personalities (usually after sufficient damage being done to their circuits) they have the capacity to at times be savagely sassy, condescending, and sarcastic towards just about anyone: And I think that's a grand quality to have in a droid that's just sick and tired of their job that involved marching out to shoot people, get blown up, and then end up being rebuilt to be sent right back out there again.
naa, there is alot of dialogue where they talk about enjoying fighting clones and fighting in general, its only jedi they dislike fighting.

IMO the ones which did their intended job the best, are the Pilot droids - for example, remember the ship which Anakin "cut" in half? well before he did that it was already damaged pretty badly, but it managed to stay in air pretty well due to the pilot droids (that is untill Anakin and Obi-Wan killed all of them).

The Confederacy of Independent Systems probably had hundreds of thousands of different versions of the B1 Battle Droid. There is probably be no way to probably cover even half of the different battle droids much less the variety of said battle droids.
I don't know about hundreds of thousands, chief. But many that aren't listed here.
Such as
OOM-052:fix a bug that makes them just stand in place in the middle of a battle
OOM-053:they now do not shoot inanimate objects that looks like the enemy
OOM-054:added a piece of metal near the joints to stop sand from going in
And so on and on and on
And each diffrent model just adds a slight diffrence.
I've always been a fan of the piolet Droids, they're my favorite color blue, if my icon didn't make it obvious. Also helps they got to help R2 and play a decent role in the Citadel Arc, which I also enjoy greatly.
Also, nice effect at the beginning to transition the box color from blue, to red, and then to yellow, when talking about the most well know varients.
I forgot about that scene with the rocket battle droids going around and cracking open escape pods like piñatas. That scene and the one in the Umbara episodes where the clones are going around and casually joking while executing wounded enemy soldiers both rank pretty high on my, "Holy shit, I can't believe that there are corporate marketing departments that green-lit their breakfast cereal and action figure advertisements to be run with this show" list.
B1-A: **Exists**

I remember reading in the Official Star Wars Fact File (that must have been around the time AOTC was released) that only the OOM series had vocabulators, which meant that regular B1 droids weren't able to talk. This applied to the time of the Invasion of Naboo. I don't know whether this was later retconned or not, but I like this concept. I really don't like the way B1 droids were portrayed later in ROTS and especially in TCW. In EP1, B1 droids were cold and intimidating and now they're a joke.
No more a joke than storm troopers, or really anyone who's a "bad guy" in Star Wars. Canonically competent, buffoons on-screen.
@@Espartanica But honestly, stormtroopers only started to become a joke since Return of the Jedi, when they were beaten by a bunch of teddy bears. In ANH especially, stormtroopers are a serious threat and in TESB, the same logic of "they have orders to miss" can be applied as in ANH.

They seem pretty weak for lifting or physical rolls like fire fighting like in the molevolence (sorry for my spelling).
the b1 droids are hands down one of the best droids as they have so much potential if given the right upgrades and made a bit better.
The b1 battle droid is probably one of the most popular star wars enemy soldier next to the classic storm trooper. One thing How ever that separates them from storm troopers however is that they can actually HIT there targets.
Hasbro needs to make a Black Series figure of the firefighter droid, I love their design

I actually believe Rocket Battle Droids had more potential. Just imagine thinking you’re winning the battle just to see a bunch of gunships dropping this guys like rain on the battlefield.
Space is a vastly different environment than atmosphere. A lot of spacefaring ships weren't designed for landing because of this
I've always imagined that there was a unique B1 that didn't ever have a memory wipe and developed a unique high level intelligence. Similar to R2-D2. Perhaps it went on to work with the Rebels and the New Republic.
I would like a story like that.

The Droid Army had limitless Potential and an overwhelming about of versatility! I really wanted to see the Droid Army keep making improvements and keep appearing in more Star Wars movies and series.

So happy to see references to Star Wars: Battlegrounds. That game was my introduction to the RTS genre, but few people seem aware of it.
I also forgot but there were B1 models missed such as the ones that operated the mortars from galactic battlegrounds and the electro staff wielding ones.
And aquatic ones.

Wow idk about the B-1 A ever mentioned. I always thought a B-1 and B-2 would make a pretty neat mix of they were put together. The jetpack was also a nice touch. I could picture it being useful for boarding enemy ship similar to the B-2 rocket Droid.

i would love seeing vids on the variations of the b2 battle droids also the variations of droidikas though there are some variations of it that i have a hard time loping in with those "rolling death balls" as asoka so beautifully put i speak of the oppressor droids and some of the old republic era ones that to me look very similar to droidikas i also would love to see a comprehension break down of all the droid models and model variants used by the cis during the war over all wether one vid or multiple i just love learning about this stuff

Why did the CIS battleships even have an atmosphere? Wouldn't it have been better to be in a vacuum? It's not like the droids needed to breathe and the admirals would only be on the flagship (assuming there even was an admiral). It only allowed jedi/clones to board more easily. Hell, could even omit artificial gravity, since the droids could just have magnetized feet.
before the clone wars show retconned it, everyship with a proper bridge had a organic commander, with fully automated variants being built (and seen in the background meaning they are still canon), which have no atmosphere and only maintaince tunnels for droids, regular varients also only had limited areas with the atmosphere (the bridge, crew cauters and the halls connecting these together and to the hangar).
this was retconed for atleast some varients of CIS ships, its unclear how mutch, but they definitely retconed the fact every ship with a useable bridge haveing an organic commander.

I mean they were designed by aliens so they generally were designed to look like their respective makers so they sorta did look "human" from a certain point of view
disagree, humans are one of the least threatening thing out there, espeically if portrayed as dumbly as the droids are portrayed in the 2007 clone wars.
I would argue an inhumane droid is more threatening (assuming the same behaviour, ie serious and brutal), as there is less humanness that can be attributed to it.
the meta (ie behind the scenes) of the B1 was designed to look like an alien skeleton, so a horde of them looks like a skeletal horde from grim fantasy. however as they decided to turn them from somewhat serious and quite in episode 1/2 to more comic and chatty in other media this lost any effect it might of had. in universe they are based off the geonocean wingless drones (slave class)

The OOM command variants could probably be reprogrammed to be decent office assistants later on, for places where protocol droids are rare. My fan character, Xelarra, Empress of the Empire of the Hand, has a put-upon B-1 named "4T-2" who is programmed to be her research assistant.

I like imagine enough of em slipped through cracks after the war that weren’t shut down for one reason or another that they ended up colonizing some far flung world.
No tactical droids, maybe few supers and vultures but just fields of happy frolicking B1’s. Far as eye can see, off into distance, over the hills and far away, carried on the wind “rogerogerogerrogerogerogerogerogerogeroger”

Pretty sure most OOM Pilot Droids were actually independent from control ships to a greater extent than other droids before the Battle of Naboo.
Even tho they're all different, I bet they still have that signature "uh oh" they do when in danger.

i remember star wars battle front II (05) i would play against my friend on the clone wars. every time he would rush me as obi 1 or some jedi i would blow him up as a assult droid with a mine (till he started throwing his light saber or pushing me off a cliff)

My Droid is the best one it randomly attacks everythings thats related to Fur but it just moves in their way uncomfortably so they feel unwell, they have smaller legs and heads though.
