  • Students from secondary schools across Stirling recently participated in Active Stirling's Track and Field Championship Event.
The event, held at Stirling University, saw enthusiastic participation from schools including Balfron, Bannockburn, Dunblane, McLaren, Stirling, Wallace, St. Modan's, and Queen Victoria High School.
Pupils from Etive House St Modan’s, Ochil House and from Balfron High School also attended the event and competed in the SportAbility Track and Field activities.
The championship featured a variety of athletic disciplines, encompassing running, jumping, and throwing events. Over 200 students showcased their talents in short and long-distance races, high jump, long jump, triple jump, and a range of throwing competitions.
Active Schools events are designed to support school-aged children through extra-curricular activities, providing opportunities for them to stay active, try new sports, and have fun. The aim of the Active Schools programmes is to deliver a wide range of sporting activities and create pathways for students to join local sports clubs if they wish to continue their athletic pursuits.
