Northern CA resident here and I told myself days ago that “Roadrunner is going to do everything in her power to maintain a continuous footpath past the fire, no way she’s going to skip forward, no way” kudos to you! Can’t wait to see how it goes. Somewhere is just amazing, what a blessing she is to the Tramily! Stay safe out there!
Well, you’ve gone and done it now! LOL. Thank you for the shoutout. You can come and join us anytime. Might have to walk a little slower than you are used to. 😬 Good luck on your PCT hike and the reroute. We have heard some compelling arguments for doing that trail. We shall see. ❤
That sounds awesome. Those people that understand Gaia are really something. I even took a class about it once and it’s got so many cool features but too much for me, unless I have a desktop. Way to go somewhere!
Lol I just saw one of those cars yesterday and I told my husband that it looks like a vehicle from outer space. Looks like it was a fun zero! Oh no! I am sorry to hear that the fire was possibly caused by a hiker. That's scary. That is great that Somewhere created an alternative plan! Looking forward to your adventures! I will have to check out the AT couple who you recommended!
Wow! That's so cool that you watch AT vloggers... on my AT trek I couldn't watch any other hiking videos. Also, I haven't been able to watch any AT videos since finishing the AT myself (even yours, though I've watched nearly every other video). It is just so strange to me since I had my own experience, but I watched 18 million AT videos before my hike.
Somewhere has superhero powers, what an awesome friend to have during your journey “through hike” best of luck with the reroute. Keep crushing those miles….🤙🏽
looking at the map, there are actually Forest Service Roads you can walk to get around the fire to the East starting in Etna and coming back in North of the fire in Jones Valley which is close to the PCT. Going to the West thru Marble Mountain Wilderness looks much harder. Plotting your own course from a topo map looks dangerous. Having a compass and map is going to be required.
Somewhere is awesome for determining a reroute. Personally, I think the PCTA is going to be forced to come up with alternates like the CDT eventually since burn areas suck for quite a while and fires are happening every year. - Seiad is pronounced "sigh-add."
You should check out Ben on the Trail. He’s hiking with his sister, Alice, and they are hilarious. Upbeat and funny with historical points to their hike.
Good morning, Juliane. A good zero. Am excited about you getting a new tent. No more mosquitos sneaking in. Hopefully, your sleeping pad will stay inflated also. You and Somewhere make a good combination - the fearsome twosome. Cool idea that Somewhere planned a re-route to get you around the fire. Will look forward to seeing how that works out. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.
Roadrunner you look so happy and relaxed on your zero 😂! I'm glad Somewhere has figured out a reroute around the fire 🔥! You're on a exciting adventure with her ! P.S..Maybe you ladies might need a might a map and compass for the back country. Stay safe and have fun!
I'm glad that you have found reroute. It will be fun to watch. I'm sad because I was going to section hike from Stehekin to into Canada at the end of August, but the latest WA fire closers are going to force me to a different section for a second year in a row. Good luck with connecting your footsteps.
The original route to Seiad valley isn't that great either. Notorious for old blowdowns where even cytcers get injured, the last miles into Seiad valley are plain road walk (with dogs). After Seiad valley isn't also for the faint hearted. The original route is a step hill, without shadow since burned. There is an alternative for this part as well but again miles of roadwalk. There it got also pretty dramatic in the past year as authorities had to evacuate some hikers who found themselves a little bit too close to fires.
The problem I have with watching just 1 a.t. video was UA-cam saturated my feed with whatever number comes after trillions of a.t. videos and I wanted to concentrate on the pct.
Epic choice for breakfast! You were eating in the very first Black Bear Diner which opened in Mt. Shasta in 1995 (you may know this already from Susie and Bibby). You picked a great place for good food and rich history. Be safe on the rest of your travels.
I just subscribed to the Meandering McGees! Because of you - I’m watching 4 other PCT hiker vlogs! I guess Boujees won’t have one for much longer. The reroute sounds exciting. Have fun and stay safe
Hope you enjoyed my hometown, can't wait to see the re-route, hoping you get to see a bit of Etna, Callaghan, etc. It's pronounced Sigh Ad...rather hike there than be driven...boy do I hate that road.
I’d like to give a shout out also to Frank Mularcik/Snowman who is hiking the Appalachian Trail in 100 days. I’m following his journey and he’s a nice young guy documenting his solo Sobo hike on the Appalachian Trail.
Nice way to zero. Coffee Hum I'm guessing Roadrunner likes cream in the coffee and Somewhere likes hers black. Although I've heard some younger Germans like schwarz coffee. Looking forward to the reroute. Hike~~On~~>
That's impressive that Somewhere had the forethought to pre plan the hike around. You girls have the power!!
Definitely see the excitement on your face. As long as you don't get hurt, sounds like you are excited about trying something new and unexpected.

excited to follow this re-route adventure - my trail hiking was from 1970's & '80's, lots of navigating. good luck

Be careful what you are offering. I may track you down after I finish the PCT end of August
Love the Black Bear DINER

Hey Road Runner send in your old tent to Zpacks and see if they will replace the zipper . They might charge a fee but you will have a working tent. :)

Thanks Somewhere, you're the best🙂
Wow the Somewhere reroute sounds exciting. Be safe and happy trails.🤘🏻🥾⛰️
Oh, that reroute will be fun to watch! Somewhere is an adventurous hiker and you are the perfect companion for this trail blazin’ plan!
Looks like a great Zero. Looking forward to the Somewhere adventure. Happy trails.
I never realized you have such nice hair. I hope it's OK to say that. Looking forward to the Somewhere Reroute.
Can't wait to hear about the reroute!!! Good luck!

Yeah! a great zero!!!! I'm going to subscribe to the Meandering McGees- and enjoy the new tent- it should help with the hiking dancer vs mosquitos.
Nice shot of the massive amount of food you folks eat when in town. Thanks

I bet that Somwhere already had map and compass ;)
You just wait 😉 for the next view videos

Somewhere drinks black coffee because of fasting 🤔

Looking forward to following the Somewhere reroute. Good luck.
Best breakfast I have had at black bear diner (Independence Missouri ) was the Blackberry bear claw a la mode!
I can’t wait to follow 🥾🥾🙏🏻
LETS GO!
The reroute sounds like it will be fun. Good luck and stay safe
How does a reroute effect the pcta regarding an official pct hike. What are you allowed to do and still have it count. Thanks for the videos!!!
Subscribed to the McGees! So fun!! The 2 groups I had followed on the AT both went home 😢. Thanks for the idea!
The problem I have with watching just 1 a.t. video was UA-cam saturated my feed with whatever number comes after trillions of a.t. videos and I wanted to concentrate on the pct.
It’s pronounced ‘sigh ad.’ Enjoy the re-route!

That weird vehicle at the beginning is a Cybertruck.
That vehicle is called a Tesla Cybertruck ! Starting price between 80,000 and a 100,000 dollars.
Somewhere is the MacGyver of hiking! If anyone can do it - it’s y’all! 🙏🏻❤️
Hey, I’m on the PCT as well and where did you find info for the Somewhere Reroute?
She created it herself via Gaia
You should call it reroute by somewhere. Love her trail name. She's somewhere.
Sounds like they gonna be new subscriber goofin
That is cool
The original Black Bear Diner👍
It's the Oregon fires that worry me at this point. Oregon looks like a christmas tree on the PCTA fire map. Air quality will be super questionable.
Yes it looks very bad
Nice way to zero. Coffee Hum I'm guessing Roadrunner likes cream in the coffee and Somewhere likes hers black. Although I've heard some younger Germans like schwarz coffee. Looking forward to the reroute. Hike~~On~~>
A careless camper had to have started the Shelly fire. It started at the lake and before any lightning appeared.
You are looking buff and beautiful ❤
Great on finding an option to re-route. Gaia is awesome to use. Hope you have fun exploring!
I don’t know about you all. Black coffee is the way to go. If you spill it on you it’s only colored water. No sugar, cream or additives
0:04 It's the Tesla Wankpanzer.
If it's real heavy cream I'll say it's Somewheres otherwise hers is the black coffee.
