@@Poverty_Welder I thought about pulling the trigger on one for years. Just a warning, once you do other people want one around you. We sold our cars, and bought cheap ones with cash, money we saved on no car payment we used to buy the one wheels.
one wheels are used in the outback aviation community all the time, since they are faster then walking, but you dont have to carry the bulk and weight of a bike. in fact many strap them to their wings on the struts, so they don't have to carry it in the luggage bay
outback aviation? If it's flying then does it involve a lot of ground movement? Seems counter intuitive but I'm pretty clueless about the whole affair

Got my PicoX on Wednesday and I've already got 50 miles on it. Been riding it all over Austin. For those shocked at the price and live in a city with these e-scoots piled up at every sidewalk: based on the couple of times I used scooters it would take about 50 days of using e-scoots to add up to very close to the Pint X. That's not a lot. Plus this thing is a hell of a lot more fun and social!
Out of curiosity, how many Watt hours is the Pint X battery? I got my og pint and it’s 148Wh battery means I can fly commercially with it; I’m curious though on the pint x
@@rileyk5628 You're technically not supposed to fly with the Pint X but some airline companies will allow it as long as you get a permit.

@@coar engineering something that small and portable is what makes it more expensive. People who are getting a one wheel probably are getting it because an e-bike specifically doesn’t fit their needs
EUCs are way better. Look them up.

He didn't say that... it's not straight up illegal. It requires the same kind of insurance as a scooter. No pedal assist ebikes too. But it's not even a canada wide thing. It's city handled, so places where neighborhoods are managed independently you might not be allowed to cross the street because it's illegal on that side the way you ride it on your side. Nobody knows wtf to do with these.... So basically you'd never get arrested on one anyways.

I don't think its illegal across Canada, I live in Ontario and a lot of people have E-bikes and scooters that have more then 500 watts.

Quality of the sidewalk probably doesn't matter, people ride these on hiking trails.
@@danieljensen2626 when sidewalks have open trenches because they laying down pipes, and potholes (yes on the sidewalk) that can easily damage a car wheel, it's something to think about. Less about the one Wheeler, more about rider safety

I feel like I should mention that there are some serious issues with some of the newer models and the company itself. Louis Rossmann did a pretty good, quick and to the point video on it, which I'd recommend watching before getting one.
This comment didn't age well. They fixed all of the issues.
@@hecticphusion It's still a good idea to be wary of the company. They could have fixed their issues, as well as the hardware ones, but it's often more difficult. And that's if they aren't entirely ignored.
The point if the comment was to do your research. So I think it aged about as well as Rossmann's video.

@@drizzle8309 every company makes mistakes with their products so what’s the point of making a comment like this? A couple people got bruised, oh no. Meanwhile, auto companies issue recalls after issues cause people to die and you don’t see every other video on youtube about Toyotas saying “I’ll never trust Toyota again!!!”

After seeing the recent videos about LTT's expansion it makes so much sense why they've been reviewing ebikes/scooters/boards. Super stoked to see what the future holds for LMG.
I love my Onewheels. Heading for top speed first ride (especially 30% battery or less) is just asking for it to cut out and you snap your collar bone.
But you are in Canada where healthy care is good so full send.

OneWheel is based out in Santa Cruz, CA and when I was attending school at UC Santa Cruz I would see the prototypes being used around campus!
I'd always wondered what they were doing with such tech; it's so awesome to see it take off all these years later!

I bought my Pint earlier this year and I love it. It's so much fun, but it's hard to find spots to ride this on because almost every side walk in my area has "no motorized vehicles allowed" so it sucks trying to get around.
I often go to some trails on my electric scooter and they have "No Motor Vehicles" signs on them. I just slow down and ring my bell when I'm passing people and only go fast when no one is around. I haven't had any issues so far with anyone and if I do get issues I'll pull the "I thought that applied to gas powered bikes or golf carts" card.
I just laugh and ride around in circles when people berate me for riding escooters on the sidewalk why wouldnt i do the same on the one wheel
I have over 2000 km on my xr i love that thing you get really in tune with your board after a while and once you used to it 30km/h really doesn't feel that bad on it

I have an old xr So I haven't seen all this new pairing stuff on the newer models. I know you found it annoying but I'm incredibly happy that you can't skip those instructions . This thing is dangerous and if even a few more people read how to properly ride and keep them from injuring themselves good.
Looks cool. I definitely want to see the larger more offroad capable model as my area doesn't have very smooth roads.

I love my onewheel, it's the best! I have over 2500miles on mine after only 6 months
I would totally use this to go to work in the nicer months.
The last time I saw a one wheel in a video was when Tyler the Creator forced the makers of the One Wheel to make a go-kart made of one wheels for him. Very stupidly funny video.

In my city a lot of people own these and I've had the chance to see them in person multiple times. They're really cool. I'd love one as a gift but can never practically buy one. Far to expensive of an accessory.
I agree, feels like it's a toy more than anything. I've seen a few of these at the UCF campus in Orlando and presumably some people do ride these a few miles to and from campus.

Onewheel is basically taking a snowboard to work everyday without snow or riding a skateboard that doesnt fling you off when it hits a rock. It can fling you in other ways though but thats besides the point. Its an all terrain board.
@@real_ez8412 I disagree. I have the Varla Eagle One, and even though I do use it to commute a few miles, I still consider it a toy simply becasue I don't need something like this to commute. It's like saying "well my Ferrari isn't a toy, I use it to go to work or get groceries". I guess what you consider a toy or a tool is subjective.
as for comparing it to electric skateboards, again I'm not convinced. On campus I see way more people using electric skateboards, and there's plenty with larger tires that can easily go through bumps, misaligned sidewalk slabs, etc. Take the Meepo Hurricane, for example. It has 6.5 inch pneumatic tires, which is plenty for even high speed street riding. It also has a range of like 30 miles, and a top speed of 35mph, and it's made of frickin carbon fiber, all for $1600. My Varla has 10 inch pneumatic tires, up to 40 miles of range, 40mph top speed, and is quite capable off-road thanks to the suspension. It goes for $1700.
And that's what I mean when I say the OneWheel is a toy. It doesn't make sense.There's nothing wrong with that, it doesn't have to make sense. Toys are made to be fun and appeal to our desires. The OneWheel is the type of vehicle that you buy because you want to, because you like it, and not because it offers good value or good practicality. The type of person who would buy the OneWheel probably said "I want a micro mobility vehicle. I know, I'll get the OneWheel, I'm sure it'll be a ton of fun to use it to commute to work". It's like a BMW (with the performance of a Honda Civic). But if a person simply wants to avoid walking 5 miles every day, they would probably look at this and say "Oh, that's quite expensive and looks kinda hard to ride. Instead, I'll get this Hiboy S2 scooter that has the same range, same speed, and only costs 30% as much". In this case it's like a Honda Civic (with the performance of a Honda Civic).

It's preference but If I have to commute I'm taking the all terrain because I can take short cuts as well as bank off things.
Like if your on a sidewalk with people and other bikes and there's grass on the sided you can bypass all the foot traffic.

Exactly. This Pint is $1400 which is such a rip off compared to what you can get for the price when buying an EUC.
EUC superiority, will always be the better price/performance choice.
They have actually tested an EUC on LTT.
Safer? more fun? Faster? the faster is correct the other 2 are opinions. I can find videos of EUCs plummetting the users face into the ground just like I can find a onewheel nose diving.
You hopped on and got the hang of it REALLY fast, much faster than I.
Really interesting video, it's always nice seeing people learn it! It would have been worth adding some cautionary safety words... It TERRIFIED me to hear you want to try and reach top speed THAT early... I LOVE the onewheel, but they can be SUPER dangerous especially if you're still learning. :)

That price was 10x higher than I expected what with how cheap e-scooters have gotten
They are too expensive, but those of you saying "you could get a car for that price" are missing the point, I bought my onewheel xr last semester, I'm a college student, and for the price of the xr, by then end of like 3 years ill have made it back in money saved from parking passes, it takes me 10 mins to be at any building on campus from my apartment (I'm at A&M so it's a huge campus), granted I'm blasting 25 mph down the road and it's allowed on sidewalks, getting to campus in my truck would easily be a 30 minute ordeal and then I still have to walk to class. Now I just carry in the onewheel. It's not meant for going to the grocery store, or to replace a car, jt is a compact means of transportation. Also no gas

Saw an E-wheel with a 125 km range, but it was an Electric Unicycle design. The E-Unicycle fits in a standard locker too, this one... I don't know.

And for that same price you get much better speed and range, plus the big benefit of being able to wheel it around like luggage instead of carrying it when not riding.

It's worth every penny. It's cheaper than a mountain bike and like 10,000x more fun to ride, it's more like a tiny off road truck than a board like boosted. The gt and xr is more like a tank!
