I absolutely love Corinne Bailey Rae, and am very happy she is doing exceptionally well. Her music just brings me a childlike happiness, just full of innocence. Even the album the sea, though it’s a bit heavier than her usual, it showed growth and an acceptance to whatever was, with optimism of what would come. She’s truly blessed.
"Trouble Sleeping" is my favorite song from that album. Not only did I buy the CD, I bought the DVD of her live performance. I'm now listening to her cover of Deniece Williams song "Free" with Marcus Miller.
That's the thing about grief, it can be overwhelming & unbearable. Each of us comes out of it our own time. Such a beautiful & unique artist. Her music got me through my own heartache.♥🌹♥
Ooooo I love her! I remember when a reporter asked her if she was going to have children and she scolded them for being so personal. She is notoriously private until it’s something very obvious in her life. It made me smile to know she has 2 babies now. Children are so healing. She is moving right along in life. I truly hope she is happier than even she imagined she would be. ❤️
So true! I had to hear "Free" by Marcus Miller featuring Corinne Bailey Rae on 102.5 Fusion Tijuana radio station. And that was just this year. But better late than never. I suppose 'it' happens exactly when 'it's' supposed to.
I was so sad when I heard her love died. She was such a sensitive soul and we humans can be so fragile. I hope that she has found joy and happiness and has been able to make peace about her loss. She will always be a beautiful spirit!
I went to the same school as her, went to school guides with her. Grew up admiring her and her sisters too. Her parents were always supportive always positive when I saw them. Her little sister became a soap actress in England and her other sister I think a charity worker, organiser. Very interesting story about her marriage and yes how hard it must have been on top of so much fame a death so soon in her life,so young. It doesnt seem fair. But im sure after he passed she must have gone through a spiritual awakening and found a new self so come back with. It isnt easy. I congratulate her and her family for getting though such times and challenges. A great woman, great music. A rare soul with a music heart
I'm glad to hear that this sweet soul was able to move through grief and find joy again. Her lovely song, Butterfly helped me to heal when I was grieving the loss of my mother. Beautiful lyrics. Beautiful melody. Thank you Corinne. You have helped more people than you will ever know.
this really made me cry. i love corrinne and i always wondered why she disappeared... im glad she's still going strong and making music for us and staying healthy
Great video I love Corrine so much her music is wonderful. I am glad she took the time she needed to heal. I would hate for us to miss out on her tremendous talent!!
I use to love her music. I think I heard a little about her husband but then she disappeared. I understand though. She took it very hard which is understandable. I hope she can come back like she was.
My favorite from that album is "Trouble Sleeping". Singer/song writers like Corinne Bailey Rae deliver powerful messages in their music. Her first album has 'that' effect on me. Now I've been blown away with the song "Free", Marcus Miller featuring Corinne Bailey Rae's cover of the Deniece Williams song.
This was such a good biography. I haven't heard about her in a while but I see she is still flourishing, which is so good. 🙏 I remember enjoying her music. She has always been so pretty to me and has such a pure, sweet spirit.
I to wondered why there wasn't any new music from her. It seems like I'm the only one I know that's interested in Corinne Bailey Rae. That's why I clicked on this video. I'm so 'thirsty' that anything concerning her I'll watch.
Saw her recently at a small venue in bexhill Uk 2020 have allways loved her music was so much better live she really got the audience participating we had front seats to the left of the stage on the last few tracks her small girls came out and was dancing in front of us watching there mum they looked like tiny corinnas …had such a good night so glad we went to see her 😁👍🏻🇬🇧
She’s one of those artists I do really like her debut album, and the track, “put your records on” I still jam out to!! 🧡🌟🧡 So heartbreaking about her husband’s overdose. I loss my dad to an overdose, so I heartbreakingly understand in a way so very sorry about her massive loss, and love of her life even.💖🙏🏾😢
I met her at a King show. She was eating a snack and chatting up the crowd like a regular person. Then one guy recognized her…then we all did…I tried to keep it cool and let the conversation continue. My buddy couldn’t handle the fandom tho! lol. She’s so awesome!
OK I loved put your record on, actually, her whole first album was such an amazing album, every song was unskippable, such a good album, it's funny I was listening to put your record on in my car and I was wondering whatever happened to her, I feel so sad for her that she suffered so much grief, I hope she gets back to music soon
She's a dead ringer of the ex I let get away, love her voice and the way she carries herself, one of my favorite singer ever. Never hear her play the violin though anyone has a link?
@@ldnr4442 she literally came in to my work two weeks ago we had a lovely chat my colleague was star struck lol she's still touring she's going on tour soon from what she said I don't know where I didn't ask I should've asked for some free tickets lmfao
0:39-0:53 same parentage as Melanie Brown/Mel B/Scary Spice, her father is Kittittian and her mother is English as well. I wonder if Corrine was brought up in Chapeltown or the Harehills area of Leeds?.
I used to love Corrine Bailey Rae. Really did, her trouble sleeping single came out around the time I met my husband so became a bit of an anthem for me plus I was so sad when I heard about her husband etc. I used to love her but then had the misfortune to meet her at the Stevie Wonder concert. She was actually quite stand offish with a lot of people, we all felt the same "you're not that famous love." Not saying she had to be everyone's friend but two things, if you go up on stage to sing and wear a sparkly dress and don't want to be noticed once you're off stage just don't wear the same dress or cover it with a coat and secondly it never hurts to smile and wave. She's probably cool but seriously she came across really off-key and many people noticed it as she was in the crowd. I guess I felt more let down because I had actually been a bit of a fan until then.
After all she's been through, you really never know why she was off that night. Performers are human beings. It can be hard to be 'ON' all the time. If you are happy everyday at work, then excuse me for over stepping my bounds. But Im sure you arent, just like anyone else. When she's performing she's also at work.
Her first Husband was very controlling about her career and finances. To the point where he vetoed her managements contract negotiations when she wanted to switch record companys. He did that behind her back. That was why there was a delay in her second album. She discovered all rites belonged to him. He literally destroyed her career. She never recovered from that
Her husband looked pretty clean to me. That story doesn't seem to make sense. Why would the FRIEND just decide to go to sleep, without even eating the food? Yeah right!!
I would like to know why would she marry an alcoholic who does drugs? She is stunningly gorgeous and she know she is. She could have easily found love with a man that wasn't a drunk or drug user.
I love her she's underrated

People need to understand that everybody can't handle grief the same way and shouldn't dismiss the grieving so easily.
I'd do it all again is one of the most heartwrenching song ever exist. with or without knowing the backstory of the tragic loss
