I was actually surprised about Iman and Teyana's relationship, because I was aware of when he and Elle were together. Just like people swear independent artist are in control of their art but wonder why their favorite artist takes so long to release. What good is being indie when you have no budget to promote yourself or to record! A lot of you don’t know anything about the music industry but have convinced yourself you do!
Owning your masters is beneficial for any artist. It has nothing to do with any level of popularity. It's all about ownership. Once an artist owns their masters, they can do anything they'd like with the art they created and that can be far more lucrative than any 'hit song' or accolade.
