I think this race is unfair because of the curved section, because the inner curves to the outer actually makes it short, thus the locos can overtake giving a false result. A straight drag race would be best.
I was thinking either the Class 55 or 67 would win (latter has the best top speed and former is mind-blowingly fast for a heritage loco) so I'm glad they came first and second!
i agree here, while the 55 has actually got 5000hp under it's belt, the top speed of 100 would make it lose in a straight up endurance drag race. so what if im late to the party

Why are all the British diesel locomotive headlights all off center? Doesn’t look very clean when then headlights on one side are on but off on the other, or they’re just completely off center. Looks a bit odd and doesn’t really make sense.
My personal favourite classes of British diesels are the class 41, class 42, class 52, class 23, class 45, class 22 and class 20. None of them were in the race but whatever

I'm new to train simulation software. Bought Train Simulator WORLD 2020 last week, also by Dovetail games. But this software does not have the great range of diesels that this has got. Anyone can tell me why the safe software company has two very similar and incompatible lines? Thanks.
The 73 would've done better on electric mode if it had 3rd rail but I don't think that is simulated in the BR Blue addon, the MKS version has it featured and it is much quicker on electric.

If you want to get technical the class 70 isn’t actually a british locomotive it is an American locomotive
