We breed new Zealand red rabbits and used to have chickens . A bear came through and took out all of the chickens. Everyone who doesn't live it thinks it's a walk in the park or at the very least a whole lot easier than it is. Don't let people's unsolicited opinion eat at you. At least try not to let it. For a long while we had bought chick's from a super reputable hatchery and they were all so inbred we were losing multiple a day regardless of what we were doing. It's hard and can be very heart wrenching but as you know also very rewarding. You got this love!
When I raised rabbits I would have mommas who would do all kinds of craziness with the babies. I had 1 who would have them in the nest box then throw them out on the cold wire! I had another that are the heads of her babies🤷🏼♀️. I had others that just wouldn't nurse them. I never bottle 🍼 fed any . This old man who used to be my 4-H leader gave us priceless advice. Bunny bits: To warm baby buns..turn on your oven on low or warm (keep on lowest setting.) place babies on a cookie sheet 😂 ( im dead serious tho) make sure you have a dish towel under the babies! Leave door open checking often. Getting moms warm milk inside them once they're warming is key. To feed orphaned baby rabbits *when you have the mother* Grab the mom rabbits ears with thumb and 1st finger, and scruff of the neck with the other three fingers. Place non dominate hand on rump, pick up rabbits head ( with ears and scruff in hand) with other hand support rump. Turn her belly up. Have a chair to sit down, and a towel if you need it to cover mom's eyes ( or even wrap up) when you sit down tuck her rump and or back legs under your arm. Hold her tight and still. Sit this way for a min or two and touch her belly keeping her still and calm. You may need a helper to grab babies and place them on teets. They only nurse for a couple of min twice a day. You'll be able to tell when they're full by the size of their bellies. This way is 1000% easier and better for them then kitten milk or any other concoction. A mother rabbits milk is high in fats and carbs. It has to be when they only nurse once every 12 hours. Their milk contains immunity to illness. If you have the mom always try to use her. My point here is that crap happens!
You are doing just fine conquering all these unexpected obstacles! And everyday you are learning and growing as a person and a farmer. Because of your open and friendly nature, we too are learning new things THROUGH you and your experiences. So many of us love your channel especially because of that fact. Thank You for sharing your life with us!
I'm so happy to hear that you're blocking the negative. You do NOT deserve it. You're a hard worker & you try so hard. You're very caring & loving with all your animals. I don't understand why when people can't say something positive, they don't just hush or move on to another channel. You just keep doing as you're doing & being who you are. Until next time please, take care, be safe & God bless 🙌 🙏 🙌 ❤ ❤
@TheCrazyFarmWife you do not deserve all the mean peaple they are dumb they think if they are mean all their problems will disapear me personally love your channel it really inspires me to push my limits!!!!!!!!
You are doing a Great Job, It is hard work and you have to work with mother nature. keep up the good work! Don't let people that never stayed and/or work on a farm think they should give their opinion. 💗 💯
People who make rude comments about loss and misshaps obviously never farmed. Stuff happens, and no matter how dedicated we are, we will lose animals, deal with sick animals and have to handle mishaps. That is the reality of farm life. It's a love-hate relationship with the nature of the beast ❤
So I do have a suggestion they have this thing where you can hang your dog food on a fence. It’s called a hanging feed trough. Maybe you could try that.
You could help the babies along by bottle feedin them right in by the momma?mayb build a little sittin chair of some kind.YOU ARE GLOWING!SOON YOU"LL BE THE NEW MOMMA!IM EXITED!!!
Absolutely love your showing the good and bad. That's farming. Your a hard worker and care for your animals. Do you think the black and white cow would follow the other two in a trailer. She might.
Unfortunately I don't think she would. We were feeding Happy on a trailer for almost a week and she refused to go on to eat with him. She is definitely very stubborn 🙃
Please keep acknowledging the positive comments! I know its hard not to respond to the gross/dumb comments, but ignorance and stupidity isn't worth a single breath! We, the adults with common sense, know you are doing an AMAZING job! I'd love to see any Karen/Kevin try to raise 4 children, carrying another human, feeding a farm full of life, with more life that was just born! AND dealing with sick, animals, and deaths! You and your family are freaking rock stars!!! (Your husband too! He's a hard worker) I love the real life, no pretend perfect farm life! Stay strong, and keep that blocking thumb even stronger!!! 🐷🐄🐗🐐🐇🐔🦆🐕❤
Currently I am a small farmer. At 63, I couldn’t do a full farm. I now have a couple of ponies, farm dog, chickens and 5 sheep. Always drama😂😂. I always lose half of my chicks in the spring to birds and such. Even though I provide a screened , closed at night enclosure. We just do the best we can. You’re doing great. You’re right. On a farm death happens, so we can eat them or disease or predators
When we had rabbits and the does were not good moms, eating babies and smothering them, we would seperate the babies and bring them to her only at feeding times and monitor to make sure they got fed and not trampled or eaten. Maybe is there a way to do that with jingles and her babies? Bunnies only eat twice a day I’m not sure about piglets… just a thought. Ps. Look at your subscriber count go ! I’m so happy for you this could be another source of income for your family!
my father once had a sow who ate her babies because she was lacking in iron herself, she was doing the same thing kind of pushing them around, my dad went the next morning and the majority was dead.
I think you're AMAZING!!!!! I'm very happy your blocking the TROLLS 🧌 You're doing a Great job with the Animals you work so so hard!! I hope everything works out with the baby piggies. Sending you some Georgia Love from myself and my Zoocrew7 ❤😊
I’m new to your channel. I enjoy watching your videos. This is completely off-topic, but what kind of eyeshadow do you wear? Your shadow always looks beautiful.
I hate that you have to hear so many nasty Karen's and Ken's. I respect the fact that you are honest about the real life of having a working farm. There's a major difference between a working and non working farm. The Karen's and Ken's need to watch non working farms since real life upsets them so. Please just keep blocking the negative. You're a great woman and farmer. Keep up the good job
Don't block the trolls, the rest of us will set them straight, lol. Don't even concern yourself with the trolls. They are on every live stream, no matter what the subject is.
If she has a bigger pen do you think it would be easier for her to move around without squishing babies? Not a farmer… never farmed… just wondering if it may help?
I think you will have better luck keeping the cows where they belong when you guys are able to get the permanent fences up. I wonder if Jingles nurses her babies while she is standing and accidentally crushes them when she lays down. So Glad that you decided not to eat the goat meat. I'm a Retired Nurse and the fact that so many animal illnesses have started passing to humans is scarey and am glad you didn't risk it. Especially with you being an expectant Mama.
What about Wayne the baby is that way you can tell if they're feeding or not I breed Chihuahuas teacups and I weigh them all the time just to make sure that they nourish because I have tiny they are. I also have had a mama that lost her two and three days later my other mama had four and gave two of hers to the mama that lost hers as surrogate mama and all four pups with nurse off of both moms they just go back and forth
I know NOTHING about pigs...but it seems like the momma wasn't concerned at all with the removing if her baby and the squealing.... maybe just take some time to position her (if possible) to make sure she's allowing nursing
People need to realize animals have a mind of their own. People who don’t farm using what they have just doesn’t get it. There is just as much death as their is life on a farm. I wouldn’t eat those goats either but I’d cook it for the dogs. Have you tried loading Sally first in trailer then daisy. It MIGHT make her feel more at ease if Sally’s in trailer first. We also will put food and hay in trailer so if it wants it they have to go to trailer. It may sound mean but whatever it takes to get them loaded.
@ Yes some animals will never do what you need them too. My brother in-law had to just “butcher” one of his cows right there in the field cause he couldn’t do anything with it. It kept getting out and he couldn’t get it back in fence. It would end up putting itself back in the field.
I could never be a farmer.Having to make the hard choices with your animals an eating them after raising most..no way I'm a softy.dont know how u do it.i know it's part of it..guess that's why I dont.Props to all u who do.
Is it anyway you can put the pickles on the mama nipple so they can eat? I really don’t know anything about animals. try not to allow those negative comments to stress you out negative people is all over the world is something that you cannot control but know that you are doing a great job.
I love your channel it's realistic. You seem to be a good farmer.Shrek is so adorable he's so ugly but he's so cute LOL😂❤

I second that…
From a small Homestead it’s especially hard in the cold winter months…

I'm sorry that a bear got all of your chickens. That's so sad and frustrating. I'm sure it's extremely hard to keep a bear away from chickens.
