I've seen many Infiniti G in the past, but hardly any Q50 today. Infiniti should seriously update their interior, especially the infotainment system, so dated!
Drop the infotainment system and bring back hydraulic steering and make it something like a c class. Super compact and not a boat. Watch how those will sell
Well the loss of a awesome engine in the base model are to blame really, you could get a stripper G for 38-39K with the top motor. Now you need to spend 41K to get the 3.0TT which makes it a bit harder to justify in terms of cost, especially if you really want the 400HP version.

So many haters. I reviewed Lexus IS, C class, 3 series BeeEm, Audi A4. Then I chose Q50 2.0 turbo. (Couldn’t afford V6 - pity) For me, this is stunningly designed, much better looking than the others. And I like the dual touch screens with hardly any buttons or knobs to turn. So comfortable...recently drove about 400km and stepped out feeling fresh and as if it was a 10 minute drive. Taken it to twisty country roads and hitting the corners up to 40 km/h higher than sign posted caution signs. No body roll. Sits flat. They’ve won me!
I like my Q50. Good balance of sportiness and luxury. Not to mention that it does stand out as different in style in comparison to all the 3 series and C Class cars out there. But I do agree on the infotainment system and the the lack of android auto or apple car play and the navigation needs a heavy update.

I own a 2016 q50 red sport awd. Honestly the car is amazing. Talk about power and the perfect daily driving vehicle. I paid 34k for a used one with 28k miles. I can literally tune the car to 500hp with spending 3 to 4k in mods. And have a GTR on the streets. Yes the interior is dated but idc all that much. It plays my music and drives like a beast and I get the reliability that audi, bmw and Mercedes dont offer. As an experienced European car owner you better have back up money for your bmw and Mercedes.

QX50 is not a directly related option other than brand factor, when looking at the other options mentioned which were all based on technical merits and are same class competitors. Other CUV suggestions of same caliber could have included the Jaguars, Volvos. I'm sure a Honda Odyssey could drive similar to the new QX50, why not suggest that as a choice....

Infiniti is a brand that I support wholeheartedly because of many prudent reasons, but this specific unit (Q50 Red Sport 400) is not truly a compact sedan but it is a midsize sedan. If you carefully look at the interior and exterior diameters of this specific unit you will see that it does not qualify to be considered a compact sedan.
It’s a nice whip for sure but the lack of smartphone integration is frustrating based upon the current status quo. It would be one of the deciding factors if I was in the market for a daily driver and on the fence between similar models.
@@crownr0yalonice Car play on my wife's lincoln is meh. Phone has to be plugged in. Want better quality all around then do the same on the Q50. USB connections are in the center console. I stream music from my phone via BT and it sounds great though. BT Talk quality is fine too. The only time anyone can tell I'm in the car is if my sunroof is open or it's pouring rain.
after I wrecked my G37 I went a bought a M37S now called the Q70 infiniti is awesome just make sure you get the 3.7 L engine the Q70 has all the room the G37 and the Q50 lack
I ordered my 2018 AWD Red Sport without DAS. Soooo glad I did not get it. I've driven both extensively and prefer the standard power steering by a long shot. To bad I could not get adaptive cruise control without getting DAS. But would rather have no adaptive cruise control and no DAS... With lighter rims and Z1 two piece brake rotors I saved 78 lbs of unsprung rotational mass. Then add a full Fast Intentions exhaust system and the Q50RS is a real go fast car. That's with the stock tune. Better MPG and a real handful of added power. The ..OEM exhaust is garbage.
I have one as well, secret to the das system is better high performance tires. The das system is best for long distance trips with the car and high speed maneuvers . But also get the rsr springs and stillen rear sway bar, car is completely different. Dont forget that tune and dp bro. Straight beast.
This car really needs an update, it just seems like its been out forever in this body style. But I do prefer the button on the door instead of that sensor in the handle
I have an Infiniti Q50. Only thing I don’t like about the brand is that all the 2018 models have different interiors. I think they should scrap this dual screen thing and go with the 2018 QX50 interior. If they do that with all their models then everybody will buy
As a G37 owner I have test driven a 2015 Q50 and a ‘17 with the non red sport 3.0t. The engine is quick and the car handles decent, but it does not seem as sporty as the G. I also hated the dual screens. As an Infiniti owner I keep wanting to like this car, but I just can’t.
What is that thing in front of the rearview mirror at 2:07? Is that a dash cam? I've seen them in newer cars, not just infinities, they're always in the same spot. What is it?
The Q50 sport was my 3rd in a row (G37x, 3.7, 3.0tt) but never again. The rotors needed replacing at 32,000km (19,000 miles) and Infiniti Canada has the worst customer service you can possibly manage when you have an issue. I will never buy another Infiniti product again.

I have driven one. Its a good car, but could be so much better if Infiniti didnt just mail this car in. Since they do, its just an upper upper trim Nissan Altima. Also looks too much like the Nissan cousin IMO). Can be had at a better price than most competitors. The transmission and steering are a let down, so the driving dynamics arent as sporty as they could and should be. Next Q50 redesign should be interesting to check out.

Sadly the whole selling point of the car (DAS steer by wire) is a failed concept, so this is going to be a hard sell without incentives. It is kind of sad - I liked the 2015 Q50 Sport Hybrid AWD, but Infiniti ditched that model quickly.
Infiniti is best bang for the buck. What is this guy 5’2”? The footrest is essential. BMWs are too expensive to maintain PROPERLY, Lexus is predictably boring.
When I test drove this I found the steering to be almost criminal. Acceleration was great. Overall drive feel was best in the ATS and XE, I ended up with a A4 instead. The trunk space in the Q50 is also very small, even compared to the ATS and XE. Again, I only compare those two due to driving dynamics being more in the sporty side.
Why they still dont change the interior? even the q30 has a much better interior. Also the infotainment system should change. I dont get it Infiniti does such a good job with their design and if they just made a nice interior their sales would prob go 200%+ minimum
not true. the car has one of the very best auto cruise and lane control systems when properly equipped. the car monitors traffic 2 cars ahead and even detects vehicles changing lanes. pro-pilot maintains lanes perfectly too.
infiniti has a lot of potential if they change their design and make it more sleek and modern design. infiniti is so far behind in terms of technology and interior design. like seriously infiniti your new 8 row passenger SUV have a same interior since 2008 and this Q60s have a same interior design from q50s which is almost 4 years now.and the infotainment system is so slow and laggy make the costumer frustrated.
I have the Bose radio "upgrade" It needs a real graphic equalizer. It comes with only base and treble adjustments. The midrange is horrid. The stereo is way to "bright" with lots of base. Lacking midrange. Inexcusable.
The RedSport's 400hp to the rear wheels and no lsd is offensive. One wheel peels king. Classic corner cutting by Nissan. A $25k 200hp Civic SI has an LSD so not sure what Infinitis excuse is. Then there is that interior....yikes
Starting to become common across the board, even cars from Macleran don't have an LSD any more it's an open Diff. It's the programming logic they use that really makes it work, but yeah Infiniti isn't there yet and it really should come with an LSD.
Drove everything in the class - Q50 RS is a demon on the road and bang for the buck, there was nothing even close. Good review.

I bought the 2015 and it’s great. The 3.7 is rock solid and it can go 0-60 in under 5.5 while getting 25+ hwy mpg.

car play is a bit over rated. the vehicle has blue tooth and a wired option already.
ms3er making a call over Bluetooth v. CarPlay is completely different. Music quality is better as well, in addition to map integration. No contest.

Rotors will be replaced under warranty.

They also omitted the Acura TLX and Genesis G70 (or Kia Stinger), all of which seem to compete with the Q50 better than the German cars mentioned.

Exterior is really nice, but that interior looks very cheap and unlogic.. BMW/Mercedes/Lexus, or even Mazda interiors are much nicer.

Had one for a couple of weeks....does anyone know how to override the engine stop/start every single time you come to a stop... It's awful

I have the Bose radio "upgrade" It needs a real graphic equalizer. It comes with only base and treble adjustments. The midrange is horrid. The stereo is way to "bright" with lots of base. Lacking midrange. Inexcusable.
What happened to the lady?
The RedSport's 400hp to the rear wheels and no lsd is offensive. One wheel peels king. Classic corner cutting by Nissan. A $25k 200hp Civic SI has an LSD so not sure what Infinitis excuse is. Then there is that interior....yikes
even my previous AMG used an electronic LSD. not a big deal for a family sedan.
Starting to become common across the board, even cars from Macleran don't have an LSD any more it's an open Diff.
It's the programming logic they use that really makes it work, but yeah Infiniti isn't there yet and it really should come with an LSD.
Why can't every vehicle be awd or 4wd
