Interesting how the stones get credit for appropriating the composition of People Get Ready by Curtis Mayfield for this particular song written in 1965. A very common and British thing I suppose. Take the time to compare the arrangements and see for yourself. Salt of the Earth was written in 1968.
I don't want to get political, but this line: the wandering millions who need leaders, but get gamblers instead, really epitomizes the selfish blind and wickedness that is passing as governance. Sad but true. But still.... Big big tune, sweet melody with an even deeper message.
