You have shown your projects - including the butterfly; the white binding shows at your edges. How will you deal with them. For one thing, the count in this kit is off, but I have done exactly what was indicated - be it very little information. On the one I have completed, there is the white binding showing all around. I do not like it! If this is the case with this particular manufacturer, I think I would return to my work without the backing and bonding. Just wondering what you will do with your white edges that show. Thank you.
I had on the 2 that I worked on a paper pattern so I counted myself a starting point and go fron the pattern and not on the fabric. And added or removed a stich/row of stitches hen I got to the end of the pattern but not the end of the fabric. On most places I could lift the edge of the binding so I could put a piece of yarn directly against the stitch in the edge binding, but there will be some of the edge showing. I hope it helps at least a bit.
I’ve never done this before and I’m so confused by my rug because it’s an odd shape and isn’t square so I’m having trouble finding where to start any advice? I can’t tell where the grid is..
Sometimes that happens. What for me usualy helps is to find the middle on the canvas and th middle of the pattern. Than you can count to where you want to start on the canvas and the pattern and start there marking off on the pattern what you did so you don't need to recount to often. I hope that helps.
I have done very intricate latch hook projects, however, this is my first one that is pre-bound such as what you are working with. I have finished one from the same company, but I do not like the white edging. There is not enough to turn over. What do you do with the bound edges showing under your yarn?

@@acreativemommyof2 Hello - I wrote what is below before I could pull up your video which addresses my questions of the ugly white edging/bonding. I do have another vertical row to add on one side of mine, but my feelings are as yours in terms of the count being off with this company's kits. I have worked one with Peace running vertically to the left and three butterflies. If I smooth out the yarn, it barely covers the binding, and there is no room for additional yarn. On the right side I do have one row left that I will fill in with yarn, but then the pattern becomes off balance. I do think I prefer working my own designs - or at least I don't use the painted designs on the canvas; they are nearly always off. I am currently working on a baseball for my grandson with beige binding, same company. It is more flimsy than I had imagined, so I am trying to think of a way to make it more substantial, particularly if he uses it as a rug. Were you able to get your yarn to fill out over the edges of your butterfly? I had thought a kit already bound would be wonderful, but I see consequences. Thanks! Sorry for the lengthy response. @@JudyBryant-y3b I have indeed found out most of these are not correct in counting. I'm not working on a big one that has no color on the canvas and you need to count out everything. I'm not working on it as much as I would like to so it is a project I'm working on for over 2 years but I still like working on it better. I did need to count it out so I could center it a bit but from there on there is no problem. So I would prefer to work on these pojects in the future and not the ones that already have the back and edge.
Thank you for your time showing your work, however it be so much easier starting from bottom up and the way you latch up the hook it’s very time consuming. Just a suggestion not a criticism. Thank you for your video. 👍🏼
Thank you for the suggestion for me personaly working bottom up is hard since I work half on the table and half on my lap (at least when I am not filming😉). So in that way it is hard to work like that at least on some of my projects but I switch around and see what works best for each project. Thank you for watching
