Please rethink going to college - you should listen to this one 10 days in a row. Take notes every time then start writing, read more, explore what you are interested in - going to college is paying someone to tell you what you should think and do. A waste of your time, truly. We have to stop living our lives second-hand. Read a Bible start to finish, read a book by Jordan Peterson start to finish. Don't postpone starting your rich, beautiful life adventure by going to college - it's a poor, weak substitute for living your own life for the amazing purpose you are here for. Bless you on your journey. ❤

19:51 that bit about cutting out alcohol and focusing on more important things really hit hard for me. Its so true in hindsight. If you're trying trying to improve as a person and the friend group you currently have are trying to pull you back into the destructive path that has made your life such a roller-coaster ride it is time to step back and just focus on yourself for a while.

I've been living in addiction for 17 years.
Me & my wife have been going through IVF for 9 years.
We had 5 rounds, 1 miscarriage & 1 ectopic pregnancy.
I am now 15 months free from drugs & alcohol.
3 months ago we lost our little girl Lilly Grace at 5 months.
Lilly was our final chance at becoming parents with a child of our own.
My wife got sepsis & I almost lost her too.
Should I give in to my addiction because of all this heart ache? Believe me IT asked.
But no, I'll stay the best version of myself. My wife won't lose her husband aswell as her little girl.
I am grateful my wife came home with me from the hospital.
I am grateful for my recovery.
    I like myself again.
    We hurt, we move on.
    We lose, we keep going.
    Appreciate who you are.
Love yourself & be grateful for the life you have.

While I've made a LOT of powerful decisions over the years, hearing JP saying (yet again) that he genuinely quit wasting time has motivated me to stop visiting news sites, as well as unsubscribing to any UA-cam channels whose focus is on politics and news, especially outrage politics. I'm powerless to change those things that outrage me anyway, so why waste a single second of my life on things that only serve to keep me riddled with anxiety?

The Libs are confident that they can get Canada involved in a World War or create another crisis to allow the implementation of the “War Measures Act”. That is the only way they can ensure they will remain in power. CANTADA needs to literally revolt and throw the out. If you do not, you will not see another election. Don’t believe me? Look at Egypt. They have been locked down under their war measures act for 35 years. WAKE UP CANTADA!

Growing up showed me that being a good person doesn't matter. Some people don't have the luxury of being strong enough. Especially when we're alone.
We don't want somebody to listen, we want somebody to care, and some of us require more care than people are willing to give.

    • @MsCGarnica

We need to learn to care for and validate our Own Selves!! If we go about living life expecting others to fulfill our basic needs for Self care. We will only be doomed to a future of resentment and lonliness.

At 41, it feels too late. I worked in a family business for the first 20 years of my adult life. Almost none of what I did there is usable in my area and i don't want to relocate for $12 an hour. I know juat enough about a lot of things, but not enough to confidently charge another person for. At 41 I work at a convenience store making less than $2,000 a month. I have no formal education and no trade skills. No one trains a 41 year old to do anything. I have no future. No hope. I read, but the things I read all point to the same thing. "WHAT DO I WANT?" I want to not be poor. I know thats not good enough. I don't know what to do.

Im 51, I dont have a day in college, no trade skills, tons of art skills, I live in the tropics, and 2grand a month would be a godsend of luxury. Imagine minimum wage being 7.25, but in the middle of heavenly beaches, pristine temps year round, and no taxes and yet all jobs pay min. For 2 grand amonth you could live like a king, but its nearly impossible to find emplyment out here at that rate. Start a company, whole different ballgame. Make as much as you want tax free, live like a king for cheap.
Nothing is too late, move. Explore your world, explore your life and all its possibilities. I came from hellhole Indiana to heavely US tropics, and I would rather be poor out here than rick back there, all day long. Move. Its worth it.

The problem of living a life of pursuit is that you'll never feel enough. The state of mind, the feeling, the emotions, the thoughts, all of what goes on in your head when you achieve the goal you've been pursuing goes away. It just goes away and you're back in square one. You can, by all means, live this way. Once you're done with chasing one goal, go chase another. Maybe you won't get tired of that. But maybe you will and if you do, you'll realize that chasing goals, no matter how big they are is also fleeting. And if the latter is you, I'll tell you this: the name of the game is attention. These feelings, these thoughts, these states of mind, come and go. Learn to pay attention and while you do, you'll learn to let them come and go, with no judgment. Then you'll accept this is inevitable, then you'll realize that you can be free in the present moment and that the thoughts, feelings and states your mind goes through don't have to torment you. You can learn to let them go.

I really connected with "mindlessly surviving" and just putting alot of energy into doing things that might stick or in a random way. I started making lists for my day. Sitting down relaxed while planning out my day, even to the smaller basic things like drinking water, showering, etc. It helps me dramatically when I am wanting to get as much done and being more efficient, makes for a busy day, but at the end, I always feel incredibly accomplished and see just how much I could get done.

Yanno, I think if I decided to go sober. I can't tell anyone. I don't think anyone would agree with it, and everyone believes I'll go back to drinking. It's tricky that the ones I care about, has faith in me stopping. The people I surround myself with are successful but they are alcholics.

You are in the wrong room. Don't confuse your Self with whats right in front of you. Dont surround yourself with the fake, plastic people that are spiritually sick. Seek your higher purpose. Not just animal instincts for survival. Its a great time to be alive! Now go out and live your life. You dont need a social lubricant like alcohol to make it through. Listen to this again! Dont waste any more time! You will live a life of regret if you do. Be grateful for every little thing/opportunity you've been given, everyday. Enjoy!

Everyone is so self involved in their own lives, to actually hear someone who cares and understand life and giving proper advice hits the heart. There will be ups and downs, but you now know the truth on how to handle life and it’s challenges

Jordan "loves" to preach either Catholic or Protestant religion.
Theologians probably all thought that according to the creator of the universe ... they were ALL as grown up in their mentalities as could be possible.
From the book … Brewer’s Dictionary of Phrase & Fable by Ivor H. Evans … First published 1817. … Odium theologicum (o di um the o loj ikim) (Lat.). The bitter hatred of rival theologians. No wars so sanguinary as holy wars; no persecutions so relentless as religious persecutions; no hatred so bitter as theological hatred.

I know IQ is not usually maleable, specifically fluid intelligence.
But we know substances are capable of reducing your IQ, and what do those substances usually do? They reduce activity of the brain over time to the extent of reducing the brains capacity when NOT intoxicated compared to your original sober state.
So if a damaging substance can reduce your IQ, that means the flip side of that coin is engaging in brain stimulating activities like math, reading, coordinating sports, brainstorming, eating a healthy diet and starting hydrated etc, should overtime not just increase your ability for those things, but incresse your fluid intelligence. Also focusing on balancing the hormones and neurotransmitters that became put of balance due to said substance use, or scanning highly intelligent peoples brains and see WHY they are highly intelligent, and therfore we can find out how to make people increase their IQ but specifically fluid intelligence.
When intelligence is such a strong indicator for success and academic achievement, we should really look into how we can increase it on an individual basis since smarter people means a better society, more critical thinking and is less likely to be manipulated and deceived.

    • @user-rm7kb3il6x
      @user-rm7kb3il6x 4 місяці тому

In other words, yeah some people are just born smarter. But do you think a person with a lower IQ but spends his time living a healthy lifestyle, being social, testing themselves academically for years would not improve their intelligence over someone of a higher intelligence, but spends their days alone, eating junk, and using substances for the same time period?
I imagine that gap would be closed at least a little bit in terms of fluid intelligence, and be much closer in rigid intelligence. We all have the capability for greatness, all it takes is the right mindset, and application of that mindset.
