ThornLord Just like in game, comp would matter in an actual org aswell. I don't think Talon would've been able to complete a lot of missions with just people who can fight (and Sombra)they would need scientists. And it makes Talon as an org more believeable, which enriches the lore of Overwatch as a whole, instead of just the in game modes.

Well, "Moira" means "destiny, share, fate" from mythology, so I personally think it's more accurate given the role of this character. If they wanted to name her "Maire", they would - other heroes have normal names, after all.

I kinda feel bad for the developers. They either have two options.
A.) Create a new hero with a new playstyle and unique abilites, but be accused of stealing the idea of from literally hundreds of fan made characters.
B.) To play it safe and combine several aspects from other put in stone characters into the new character, but have the player base accuse the developers of being lazy and unoriginal.
It's a real shame really and it's something I didn't think of until reading the comments.

This, pretty much. Honestly, I think the best thing developers can do is just make what makes them happy and what they think works within the realm of their game. Trying to please too many people or trying to make sure people aren't mad about something is such a Sisyphean feat with how entitled and wishywashy their audience is.
Do one thing to please a certain demographic and you get called this and when you do something to try and please that unhappy demographic, you get called that. It's easier to tune out the negativity and work on what makes majority of people happy and that's usually just releasing good content that's good quality, especially when it's obvious that the content was slaved over with passion and love.
I never once thought they were "stealing" or "patchworking" abilities when I first watched this, but reading the comments, I feel like the minority. Working with what you have and making something great out of it is obviously lazy and unoriginal (/s).

Pretty much every time we have a new character released people say "They look OP" bear in mind this is the trailer for them, so of course everything you see here is the optimal situation to show off what they can do. Put her into a proper game situation, they're not going to be this powerful ALL the time
Personally I'm greatly anticipating a unique addition to the support roster as well as figuring out how to use Moira best and how to counter her effectively (Stealing health and giving to teammates was a mechanic I was hoping to see)
I think they don't remember how Ana was literally one the roof in her trailer. or how she one shotted widow maker as if she can snipe just as well as her.

I used to never play Moira because I couldn’t get her mechanics down. But as soon as I found that perfect balance between healing and damage I haven’t been able to stop playing her. She is so badass on so many levels
i started to play as her during last years halloween events; just after 15 minutes of practice i was terorising the chateu guillard :D
I find her one of the best solo healers, since her healing output is pretty big and almost AoE, plus her orb, and of course, the fact she can defend herself more easily with her damage+self heal and fade. I pretty much carried two teams through Illios and Lijieng with that witch xD

To be fair, you have to have a really high IQ to main Moira, her play style is extremely subtle and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics, most of her abilities will go over a typical player's head. There's also Moira's nihilistic outlook which is deftly woven into her characterization. Her personal philosophy draws heavily from, narrowed literature, for instance. The Moira mains, they understand this stuff, they have the intellectual capacity to appreciate the depths of these voice lines to realize that they're not just funny, they say something deep about life. As a consequence, people who dislike Moira truly are idiots. Of course they wouldn't appreciate for instance, the humor in Moira's existential catchphrase, "what an interesting hypothesis". Which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic fathers and sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Jeff Kaplan's genius wit unfolds itself on their computer screens.
