  • A video to show how I removed the Panoramic roof on my 2003 SL500. Please use this as a guide and not a 'How to' as these roof mechanisms are unpredictable and could move at anytime, please ensure they are stable and secure before working on them

There are kits to repair those hydraulic valves, literally a couple of washers, but a bugger of a job.
Also you can release the pressure in the roof hydraulic system from the reservoir itself, its got a bleed valve on it
You make it look pretty easy, I've been thinking of covering my roof liner in alcantara fabric
    Another great video btw

Good video, although I would suggest having someone help when it comes to manually adjusting the roof. I installed a pano roof on my 55 and it really changed the appearance.

Hi, i have also plan to swap regular roof to pano roof on my SL55 - 2003 my. So do You know, if pano roof is from SL500, (found same colour as mine and is 2004 my.) does it fit with no problem for my SL55 ? was it easy swap ?

@@AnttiPrees roof is the same for all years and models. The install looks like 15 bolts off and back on easily a 1-2 hour job even faster if you got 2 people

Hi Dave - I hope you are well and not working too hard? I am told the the windscreen washer tanks on later SL's (from 2004 I think) have a bag of silica gel inside. Can you verify this or have you ever come across this whilst disassembling an SL? Maybe you still have an old windscreen washer tank? Mike in Bristol

What have you done with all the parts from your SL?
