I have one, and a few points to highlight: 1. It’s feather-light - 60g sized for my 17cm wrist 🪶. 2. The end links fully articulate for excellent comfort❗️. 3. It’s non-conductive (doesn’t get hot or cold). 4. It has a matte finish for a stealthy look 🥷. 5. The negative display makes sense for the overall look - Auto-LED helps here. 6. Thicker bracelet links are a plus - it balances the weight and aesthetic perfectly. In summary, for the G-SHOCK square fanboys this is THE one after owning many. So glad I passed on the MR-G as I see this being the forever keeper 🏆. I wouldn’t change a single thing - it’s close to perfect ▪️.
I don’t know whether to consider this helpful or unhelpful.. I also passed on the MRG but this thing is amazing. I have a blacked out GW B5600 and I love it, but THIS thing is special. Bought one. It is almost perfect. Indestructible. You can barely feel it. The colouration of the carbon looks great, particularly in natural light. However, the clasp feels a bit flimsy (partially a function of it being super light) but also the fitting isn't rock solid. I have a blacked out GW B5000 (batman) and I actually think the clasp is better on that. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to buy this watch on any logical basis if you compare it with the GW B5000, but there is something about having a watch on your wrist that you know is the state of the art for G Shock, and very rare to boot. If people can pay £30K+ for a mechanical watch that just tells the time...then this is a bargain in comparison.
I bought this watch. Ordered it online. I picked it up and thought “what have I done…feels like a plastic kids watch”. Once I sized it and put it on wrist, I might never take it off.
Six (6) month review: The honeymoon is not over as this one is a banger. Extremely minor, silly gripe is that the clasp rattles. I wouldn't call it flimsy as it's plenty secure... it just rattles when you shake your wrist. This would only matter to someone who notices things like an oddly loud 'tick', or excessive rotor 'whirr' on an automatic watch. Trying to figure out a way to minimize the rattling without doing something permanent.
I echo your comment 💯%....the 5610 has to be the best value watch on the market and accurate to the second year in year out... My travel watch for sure...ever reliable...
The violet-purple model with the opal particles sold out immediately in Europe. You can still buy this Movell in Casio's USA store. Apparently not so popular in the United States.

MRG-B5000B1 is the best watch in my collection...by far...I like it since it is dressy and sporty in my view...this watch looks pretty cool...agree with other posters a positive display would be nice...same size and weight as a 5610...have one of those on a combi and a titianium mod...like the concept of forged carbon, but don't see myself purchasing one of these...having said all that, if it wows you Rob, I would go get it! You certainly have earned it with your work on your channel and you can enjoy it a lot if you use it for work every day!
Just bought one last few days ago. Its a super duper cool watch. The reason im buying it, its because this model might not be produce ever again once its sold out.
Such a cool watch. And even though it's a chunk of money, in the world of carbon watches the price is a (relative) steal of a deal. Unfortunately for me I'm looking at upgrading my vehicle so this money is going to be used towards my downpayment on that but if not, this would definiteley be in my collection. So so cool.

Was able to buy one at the local Casio shop here in Hong Kong just today. Absolutely love it. I can't get over how light it is. It wears beautifully. Looks awesome on wrist too. I guess the biggest question is... Does the forged Carbon Band and Bezel fit the Steel and Titanium GWB-5k cases? I can't quite justify the price for one of these... but I bet I could for beat up Titanium GWB-5k and the Forged Carbon pieces. Edit: after watching the vid, sadly, this question appears to be no... Time to try to justify this because I haven't bought the Titanium one yet....
I have been wearing this watch every day since January, because a watch like this was not built for the shelf but for everyday use. It has not been scratched yet.

It would be interesting to try the CASIO G-SHOCK 40TH ANNIVERSARY RECRYSTALLIZED GMW-B5000PS-1ER. I use the app because it's the only way you can check the battery status. This after a Casio GMW-B5000 almost ran out of power.
MIP is very slow refresh, so it would not work with this module, it will require a completely new module made for this type of display. But I would love one.
@@brunosco That’s correct. i have both STN and Non-STN squares, and honestly in the sun I prefer the Non-STN look, but in dimmer light the STN is much easier to read
@@brunosco The numbers/letters look uniform in tint and brightness with a normal one. The STN panel shifts colors in different parts of the numbers, depending on the angle and light. To my eyes at least. I can even see it in the thumbnail of this video a bit.
does anyone knows if it scratches easily or it is difficult to scratch it? I do not think it is possible to possible to polish it, so I guess the scratches will just accumulate
Negative display, yes, but STN technology, so higher contrast than the resin ones. And Bluetooth also means auto summer time switch (no need to get any signal that night), and I think also summer time and time zone database updates, along with more solid time sync overall across the planet. Just sayin’. 😛
I probably would have bought one if they had kept the original end links. The way it is now, there is a real end of the case and a start of the bracelet. It doesn't flow as nice into eachother as before. I know why they did it (to fit smaller wrist sizes), but it doesn't look better for it.
I love this watch, for me it’s the ultimate OG. However, you are right about the MIP, I recently bought a DWH 5600 (with a 40% discount from the London G shock store) and it is super crisp. An MIP (without the heart rate guff) + Carbon would be pretty much perfection
I just cannot justify paying this much for ANY G Shock. Yes, it is a great looking watch but most of the functions can be had on many other lesser priced models. If you would have told me ten years ago that Casio would be making watches that cost into the thousands I would have laughed. Now it is more common place than many think. A sign of the times…
I never honestly understood the fascination with carbon watches. Yes, they have a cool pattern, but I think the industry's shift to produce more carbon cases is more od wanting an "exotic" material while being able to charge considerably more than steel. On a G-Shock this is even more confusing as the epoxy used to seal the carbon is really not much different that some resin models. Cool looking watch nonetheless.
I haven't handled it but I assume the carbon will give it a cheap plastic feel in hand. I feel you need a bit of weight to give you the feeling of quality. It's the main reason I keep flipping my titanium watches.
Never quite got the weight thing, myself. I guess it's leftover from mechanical watches. We still believe, pychologically, heavier means better. I have a cheap Timex Expedition Diver I bought years ago with a brass case that weighs a ton. Not the best time keeper, though. Have it on a Nato strap, the weight keeps it restless on wrist. Dropped it once changing straps.... it didn't bounce when it landed😄 Didn't affect the accuracy, though.

Hardcore watch collectors who aren’t even the bigget G Shock collectors would buy this in a minute. 2 k is nothing for them. I have buddies like that. I love G Shock so I’ll pick up the next one I can find.
I would buy instantly. I am not into G-Shocks that much, but this one really seems to be high quality. At least casing and bracelet seems great. But to be honest 2k for a digital watch that does not have a proper Micro-Adjust clasp? Somehow this really does not align with the asking price. I could accept this at a price of 500 USD, but for 2k I want it done (and working!) properly. For sure I do not want to fiddle around with this 3step MicroAdjust, which requires tools to pinch down one of the spring bars and then putting it back together. As said... 500 USD/ Euros, okay I deal with it. 2k mechanical watch... yes, maybe (but there are watches out for 500 USD as well with a very proper tool-free micro adjust - check Zelos!) but a digital watch? Sorry, CASIO will not get my money for that. This is really disappointing.
This one is perfect form of G-shock philosophy, except its price. I bought one for not to buy similar idea again. But I may buy some of survival purposes G-shocks but not one like this. This one is a conclusion.

Doesn’t feel cheap whatsoever. The weight is amazing and makes you rethink your position on a heavy watch. When you wear it, you will get it.
The modules are pure junk. You’d be wasting your money. They’ll fail within months.
