  • I hosted an event in a Long Beach mansion before NIPS (the big AI conference) started called TITS (Transformationally Intelligent Technologies Symposium). 150+ AI researchers from DeepMind, Google Brain, and other institutions showed up for the party. One of the invitees was George Hotz, a kid who built his own self driving car in his garage in Palo Alto. He also jailbroke the iphone first, as well as the PS3. He now runs comma.ai, a startup that builds self driving car technologies for everyday consumers. He's a really cool guy, and i whipped out my camera during party setup to get a brain download from him. Hope you like it!

      Honestly, relaxation is what gives me sense in live lmao...
      I love being relaxed. It's the best feeling ever.
      Also, being "active" can also mean being "relaxed" at the same time, depending on what activity you're doing.
      But at the end of the day, I love for example to relax while gaming, or being in vr, while watching movies, reading books, lying in my bed, chill with friends, chill on hot beaches.
      Maybe you are such an active person, that you don't need that, which is fine. But for me it's heaven. All those things make life worth for me.

      having a 5 star hotel can also be seen in that we have successfully colonized Mars(i think type 2 colonization or 3? not sure abou that.) which also means that at that state, the trip & stayingin mars is easily accessible, safe and stable + there is a difference with livin in luxury and relaxation.

    Hi Man, I just translated into french this really quick interview that gave me the envy to become your Patron.

    What is a misconception people have about self-driving cars?
    "That the trolly problem matters."
    Did he just say he doesn't give a fuck? LOL

    • @Muskar2
      @Muskar2 6 років тому +1

      I think he's saying that the trolley problem isn't related to self-driving cars. It's an old ethical problem, that a lot of people seem to think is a reason why self-driving cars will never be trust-worthy. Instead, George most probably sees it as a statistical problem. I.e. if we reduce fatalities by 90%, 99% or 99.9%, then that means self-driving is worth doing. And at that point, it clearly doesn't matter that ethical perfection isn't reached. Or that it might not ever be.

    • @RecursiveRuminations
      @RecursiveRuminations 6 років тому

      Muskar Everything you said is correct. The trolly problem is classically a problem that deals with ethics. "would you hit a switch to change a trolly from hitting 4 people into it hitting another person who otherwise would have been safe." A pure statistician would always save the most lives. Other factors, ex age, owner of vehicle or outside pedestrian, won't matter. The car will choose to do what it thinks will save the most number of lives.
      He didn't explain if the car takes favor to the passanger of the car or the other vehicles or people on the rode.

      @LegendaryZ0NE 5 років тому

      @@dorianvoka5591 what is wrong with ubuntu ? Use a distro that simply works, which indeed Ubuntu does well. I've always prefer Debian based distros over Arch because Arch is a rolling distro, and I want stability and good support. I've also used Arch for several month. Just choose a distro with decent support that you can handle and like.
