Your a brite guy nutter. Im extremely fussy with my toys, and i can say you remind me of me. You can never have to many spare parts. For me though. I dont have luck with ngk's. I prefer champion. Bearings, i love the blue seal NTN's. Good job, as a mechanic i very much appreciate how you take pride in the snowmachines you work on. Theres not many that do. Then they wonder why there sleds never run or move..... hmmmmmm. Id be proud to have working in my shop. Happy new year. I just subscribed to your channel. Are you a member of of any sled forums? Just curious, im on hardcore sledder.
Thanks AR. That means a lot coming from a guy with your experience. I'm on vintagesleds(dot)com, have been for a long long time but I don't post much. I was on vintagesledders(dot)com (currently not working?) a board my friend Cruel Paul started many years ago. RIP Cruel Paul. I'm Nutter's Speed Shop on Mewe and I have a couple sled groups on mewe, one for leaf spring and the other for trailing arm era Polaris Indys.
I've been watching your videos multiple times, I've got a 83 XC 340 going to powder coat next week? needless to say most of my questions have been answered in your Xc 340 series. One thing I cant seem to figure out is what to use for replacement front shocks? rear skid shocks appear available. Any recommendations?
Looks like Dennis Kirk has the gas ski shocks for the Cross Country Indy. I could be wrong but I thought it was all the same shocks on the front suspension through 93? Haven't done it yet but I have some Fox shocks from a '93 XLT that I might get rebuilt and put on my '83. Haven't taken any measurements but they look pretty close.
Need to add a recoil guide! Was trying to solve that issue of mine. Q- what is a good source of used steel parts that are discontinued? I have a few suspension items that are cracked that I would prefer to repair. I found some on eBay, but wonder if there is a good used parts warehouse.
Other than the usual swap meet, craigslist and market place that you probably already looked at I would check with Dr Mario's Vintage Polaris parts or Al's. There's probably a bunch of other places too. That's just where I start.
Spare parts are great to have thanks for the info👍👍

Great video. A question on your coil. When checking a possible bad one, what ohm reading are you looking to get?
Please go to vintagesnow (dot) com and get the service manual. It's all in there.
Thanks
Great video you can sure limit your down time if you are not running or waiting for parts.
Very true!
Great video. Better be safe then sorry. No fun when your sled is down for just a simple part. Have a happy New year...
