I worked through the night alone for two months carrying out repair work a very old local pub that was known to be haunted. One "ghost" was called Charlie and he made himself known on several occasions, but there were also the spirits of two young girls who could often be heard chuckling to each other and talking to each other in soft voices as if they were sitting down playing with toys. There was always the smell of old fashioned lavender wax polish when the girls were around. Charlie would just open or close doors occasionally and move things around, I never saw him. I was told about Charlie before I started working there but the girls came as a surprise. I never felt threatened, quite the opposite in fact.

Honestly, I think that there are some things in life that it is not fair to expect folk to understand or appreciate until they experience something similar for themselves. I think the subject of spirits (ghosts) is one of them. 👍

I stayed the night in a haunted pub hoping to see Dick Turpin.
Instead, in the early hours I woke up with a start and a Victorian Police Officer walked into my room through one wall and across near the end of the bed and then went out through the wall opposite.
Before breakfast, I told the Landlord what I'd seen.
He said to me, "Oh yes, he's a regular. He's the Inn Spectre". 👻 😂
I've worked permanent night shifts now for over 13 years. I have worked in a secure hospital with a grave yard attached to it and a 220 year old psychiatric hospital and believe me I've had a few experiences with strange things going on. For example cold rooms and shadows on walls moving. Breathing heard and knocks on doors. Walking past people in rooms and when I've turned to go back to them nobody there. A talking toy that all of a sudden talked to me after 3 hours into my shift. Where I work now I've handed over to staff in the morning about hearing things and they are not surprised as people have died here too.
“He got trampled by horses. That’s not very good”. That made me spit up my tea 😂😂😂😂😂
23 mins when you slowed it down I was sure I could see something top right of the screen. Then I realised it was fingerprint smudges from when i moved the telly to reset the Sky Router!
one of the ghosts is a grumpy old man...who does that remind us of?!..
The scariest thing was the full English breakfast 😂 The room looked great, and it definitely had that spooky vibe. I was half expecting Helen to pop out from under the bed and do a jump scare. Great video, James. Andy.
I’m not sure if you are superstitious James but some people believe mirrors are like portals looking into the afterlife. A bridge between the physical and spiritual world. I’m glad you survived the night in the spooky, medieval hotel. Having an overactive imagination myself it would of been scary if you turned the lights off and Charles the first painting started glowing in the darkness and then you hear a voice say, I don’t have a double chin. 😂

Our house is only 17 years old, 2 story timber frame. It has a concrete base . Obviously this house moves, and our downstairs bathroom door doesn't stay shut if you don't close it properly. Also it creaks occasionally. If scary is on your mind, strange things seem to happen. Not scared. ❤🇦🇺
OMG you made me jump when you sat straight up like that. I swore at that point and my husband couldn’t stop laughing.

When I was a young girl I remember sitting on the doorstep outside my house waiting for my parents to come home ,when they arrived back they looked worried and alarmed and asked me what I was doing outside,I told them I was scared of ghosts in the house ,and I Will always remember my mother saying you should be more afraid of the living 😂😂😂how right she was.
I could not sleep in that room! The mirror on the wardrobe the 2 portraits and that door - no way! X
Our last house was haunted it was a lady who i used to know as i used to go to her house to collect the newspaper money. When we got offered that house i had forgotten all about that. But anyway the toilet kept flushing by itself, i got the council out to check it and they couldn't find anything wrong, then i spoke th the neighbour about it and she told me the lady who lived there before died in the toilet room. I adked my neighbour the ladies name and i knew instantly who it was.Anyway about 2 years later i got pregnant and nearly had my daughter in there. The toilet always flushed when i was alone in the house.

Good to have an honest ghost watch video. Very interesting, I've been in the actual pub many times, I didn't realise they had such a historic styled bedroom upstairs. Love the scary open door bit.

At last a ghost watch video that's mostly sceptical, and authentic. I love the fact that you believe that there is a logical reason for most happenings but still allows a little belief in! Makes a change. I'd love you to do some more spooky hotel stays!

I saw a ghost as a child... a silver haired lady in a wheelchair, she was watching me crying with a faint smile on her face, I saw her and she saw me, I'll never ever forget it. Seeing IS believing so stop saying it's a waffle. They exist. I really do hope one day you see or have an experience. They exist!!!

You really should try the 'Ye Olde King's Head' in Chester James, you both walked past it in the video you did in Chester, yourself and Hellibobs were looking in a doll's shop window and the pub was behind you. I've stayed on 5 occasions... 4 occasions I've had things happen. I'm back over there for the Halloween party they are holding in a couple of weeks. Brilliant staff, great food and beer. Everything is filmed, via CCTV cams all over the place, you're encouraged to ask for things to happen, you get to go into all the guest rooms and after the bar is closed you get free run of the place... you can even go into the pub cellar if you dare. A couple of guys monitor you from the CCTV room, so if anything does happen while they are there, they can debunk what happened or confirm that it's unexplainable. You really should try it.

When we used to go to hotels, b and b's etc, we always asked for the top floor, as seems people now have to stomp round like elephants with lead boots, talk loud into the early hours and generally don't have an ounce of etiquette left these days, that goes for campsites too or any accommodation.

I was working away in my twenties and stopping in a room with my work mate and I woke up in the middle of the night with a Victorian Lady and her child wearing funeral netted vale looking at me 😮I jumped up and woke my friend in fright il never forget I asked the owner of this very old pub in London and he said there’s a lady and child who shows up every so often and was seen in the cellar.

Wouldn’t say I’m 100% convinced however I did have a very strange experience when I was in my teens
Also my grandma kept asking ‘who that woman was wearing a shawl in the doorway’
There was never anybody there. She hated lavender, when she died my mum went round to clean the house and her bedroom stank of lavender

I don't like those pictures of mirrors if you're in a room that's meant to be haunted I love watching shows like most haunted and help my house is haunted really entertaining 😉👍, mirrors never good to have in haunted rooms though 🙁🙁
I used to work in a disused Victorian, TB hospital. That place was creepy as anything. Got a few tales to tell about that place.

Worked as a night carer for 17 years saw and heard a lot of creepy and unexplainable things so I totally believe, just remember you will always walk out of there in the Morning 😂 great vlog.

I too saw a ghost on two different occasions. The first was a shimmering and yet opaque lady at the bottom of the stairs I was climbing who sent me racing onwards to my bedroom, too scared to look back and the second was a wolf like dog who rushed past as I spoke with a stranger and a good friend on a warm night in a woodland in Macedonia. The dog was also opaque and emitting a white glow.
I love to hear people's experiences thankyou I was in cemetery once and two shimmering figures appeared either side of me they were very tall and moving and shimmered .a great experience
This was fun James. No ghosts or ghostly happenings and a lack of sleep -- the least you deserved was a good breakfast, but sadly no. My parents' house is haunted - a few highly weird sightings, one of them by my parents together and another by my dad (who didn't believe in ghosts prior.) I only heard things in the basement on several occasions when I was alone in the house and hated staying at night myself. To this day I won't stay there alone overnight or even in the day. I dare you to, haha!
I must say James that was one of the most unscary allegedly most haunted pubs ever, Your room door squeaking when you opened it was the absolute highlight 😂

James thanks for doing this review. I will make sure that I never stay in that hotel. Not because it's scary but because you are paying £130 to be kept awake all night. 😂

The quality of your videos are quite amazing. This is just great timing release pre-Halloween. I lost sleep after watching the Shining. The first few Paranormal Activity movies also spooked me out. For those aficionados, please do watch The Haunting 1999 with the gorgeous Catherine Zeta-Jones
Is that a remake of the Haunting of Hill House,a truest frightening movie,and you see nothing,so much more frightening than the new blood,and gore movies.
Right place at the right time.. I used to enjoy a good ghost story, then a couple of times it happened, visually… no longer on the fence now. I’m with Helen with this, you come across things in nursing, though understand James’s scepticism. Wouldn’t fancy being on my own in there 😁
I had a few dinners there back ten or twelve years ago, and they were very good. I stayed for a week down the street in a cheap hotel. I was tempted to go to the Bluebell, but I heard at the time that the owner didn't like tourists, only the locals. So I didn't try it. Walking past, there were always a bunch of loud people in front drinking by the entrance.
I never saw any ghostly presence in the Fleece, but a lady that worked there said she'd had an experience.

I'm of the same opinion as you, James (I should say, I'm writing this message at 9 mins into the video😂). Going back years watching Most Haunted and the like, I've always said - if you're frightened of ghosts, just do what Yvette Fielding and the team do; take a camera in with you and they won't come anywhere near you 😂

Myself and hubby stayed in the same pub..Nothing happened, but the breakfast was lovely..I love all things haunting and lived with a poltergeist back in my 20s.
we stayed at the Golden Fleece very spooky room especially after going on a ghost walk looks like the pub has changed hands we had a great stay love York

Chingle hall, near Preston. When we stayed 20 odd years ago, we placed a recorder in one of the drawbridge cupboards and actually recorded the sounds of the chains and drawbridge being lifted, although the drawbridge had lond since been removed. I dare you to stay there, Mwhaha..
