The front camera is soooo good on the galaxy s21...both video and photo...loved it...although around a yr old...was considering to buy the S21...love evrything about it..
Surprised there was no mention of the fact that the s21 takes better video and the pixel is better at stills. We really a phone that does both.
Both phones have good camera,but...
Main camera better on pixel with more details,HDR and better color for me. Samsung have much better portrait,wider ultra wide shots and better video. Overall good jump in video but google need few software update for final verdict.
Better edge detection on Samsung rather than that the pixel pics looks more better.
Pixel allways best for Portrait (mikrokontrast + skintone), shutter speed for dynamick scens, food, flowers foto and ... See another comparisons vs iPhone and Samsung)
Happy with my S21 especially for the small size but large features. Camera is excellent on both. But I travel overseas and the translation is what sold me for the P6 standard. I also have the telephoto still with the S21. I’m going to try the P6 during the return period and make a decision. It’s tough for me

to be honest the telephoto in the s21 isn't a big miss, it's not even a proper telephoto with optical zoom, it's purely a 64 mp digital crop... I've compared it with the s20 FE with proper optical zoom amd it's miles better
I am in the same boat. The pixel 6 is great but its just to big and heavy!

Thanks for this comparison - very helpful. S21 video was consistently sharper in each frame - was 60fps capture used on S21? There's hardly any motion blur, versus lots on Pixel 6.
I stick with 4K 30 unless I plan on doing slow motion.
both phones have good camera quality but for some reason, i just love how samsung process the image and the video as well, like it's really damn good. btw good comparison as usual!!

Samsung loves the saturation. Make a faded blue sky dark blue. And that’s the Samsung. I’m still undecided between these two phones. I love the clarity of the pixel. Yet I love the ultra 900 frame slow mo. 10 x zoom and micro. And how Samsung will do and copy everyone else. Galaxy s21 has their own version of an erase mode like pixel

great to have the round magnifications, so one can appreciate all details! I am quite satifsfied with my Oppo X3, though I wonder whether the wider ultrawide of the S21+ will give me an advantage in video mode. Is the Samsung fully customizable 4k videowise?
The ultra wide does help and it doesn’t have video pro mode to adjust certain settings

Hi Daniel, do you feel that the selfie and the back cam videos of s21 are way much better and sharper than the pixel 6?
Both are very good but I do think the s21 is a bit better than the pixel for video. And I also like the ultra wide better
Funny, I immediately saw in this video that it was Jersey City. Moved away 8 years ago and still know it when I see it.
Equally good photos but the pixel post processing manages to preserve a lot of fine detail, and it seems to have more vivid colors (I'm not sure if true to life). In video s21 it looks much better with more sharpness and more details, pixel with a lot of noise.

Although I prefer the S21, it must be recognized that the rear photos of the Pixel have more detail.
On the other hand, I wonder why Samsung has not yet integrated its new photo-vidéo algorithms (those of the Fold 3 and Flip 3) to the Galaxy S and Note 🤔.
That's one annoying thing about Samsung to me is when they cut off features even if the phone is in the same gen and processors! Or get the same update but won't have some things!
maybe i am late but which new algorithms? did they change how their photos look like? less saturation?
Great job! Can you access the ultra wide lens through third party apps on this? You couldn't on the 5/4a5G.
I can use the ultra wide lens by pinching on the screen both back and front camera in the Instagram app

My expectations for Pixel 6 was higher. Not to forget Samsung is already 10 months old. I see nothing better than Samsung.

Preordered pixel 6 pro. Thanks for the comparison. As you know, all 3 top flagships have their pros and cons when it comes to photography and video. Not one beats the rest hands down in every shooting scenario (unless the owner is a fanboy). Personally I am tired of Samsung's bloatware, slow updates, pricing and most of all, their commercials. As an android user I put a higher value on the ability to customize, operating system advancement, speed and security. Going all in with their own silicon proved googles committment to improving the tech and longevity of their device.
Samsung don't do ads in software any more, their bloatware are options you can turn off. They just need to work on their pricing ma'am
Puleeeze, you'll need to root the phone or download special softwaare to change the code to remove everything, hello bixby?....dude...samsung has the largest advertising budget and pours more into their commercials and marketing than any cell phone manufacturer. Look it up. yeah and their pricing is geared towards fanboys which you sound like one by the way. I have been using samsung devices for the past seven years and I am ready to move on. That's it. If you like Samsung's committment to planned obsolescence , that's fine with me. Good luck.

*S21 takes the win* ...especially for portraits, ultra-wide shots, selfies and videos in general.
Pixel does zoom better and also has some extra fine details in few shots but that's about it.
I thought the opposite. Thought Pixel looked better pretty much across the board

So I'm a bit disappointed with Google because, I was expecting the pixel 6 to record in 4k, since the pixel 5 already records in 1080p, so I think I'll wait to save more money for the pixel 6 pro, or do you think it's worth it to get the pixel 6 even when both videos on the front camera are almost the same recording in 1080p?
And also, I've been searching for a camera comparison between pixel 6 and pixel 6 pro, I don't know if more people is looking for this but I'm, lol I want to know if the 4k on the front camera on the pixel 6pro is worth it compared to the pixel 6 1080p front camera, it might be a good video...
@@frankyblue10 it’s hard to judge since it’s what you value. Both look good and I personally like the 4K front camera. It comes down to if you really use it a lot. If not then it’s not necessary to spend the money

Thanks Daniel for this review. Which phone is better, is hard to call. The video footage from the 6pro is terrible compared to the S21, but, the picture quality, in my eyes, is better. (Bought an S21 last week, a jump from the S9, and vert much dislike the images from this phone, so am considering the Pixel 6 pro as a replacement.)
So my question, as someone who is planning to switch from iphone and is drowning in a sea of options, would you prefer the PIxel 6 or the Samsung Galaxy S21?
Hmm it’s hard to say. The Pixel is very simple to use. It’s a easier transition from iPhone. Samsung feels more customizable and with more options. Depends on what you like. I’m more minimal and want simplicity so I would prefer the Pixel. But it might be different for you.
I currently have the iPhone 11 Pro so I’m upgrading. I’m torn between the iPhone 13 & these two phones?’
Camera is a must and I’ve always been put off Samsung’s as the cameras never seem so good and seem to wash the skin. But these both look great. I also watch a lot of movies/tv shows on my lunch so the screen is a must also. I don’t know, should I stick with apple? Help me please.

I found the comparison a bit unfair. I would like all the galaxy lenses to be tested to have a better verdict
The details on the pixel photos is awesome, but it does seem to come at a cost. I'm concerned it's overly processed a lot of the time to look too unrealistic.
The photos of the keyboard at 6:29 and the photos right after it of the donut are great examples of the overly processed nature of the photos on the pixel.
Is there any way to take photos on the pixel with the computational side of things dialed back, or do they give you no options?
No options. You get what it gives you. You can post edit on your own after

For the S21 video, did you have the (non-super) stabilization on? I've noticed on my S21, when shooting 4K30fps, sometimes the video "stutters" when stabilization is on, think it has to do with how the digital stabilization technology works. Not as much of an issue when shooting 4K60fps because the digital stabilization algo has more frames to use to determine how to stabilize the image.
Yeah the digital stabilization can get weird. And I did not have the super stabilization mode on

Really enjoy your reviews and am pretty wowed by this comparison. The Pixel 6 pro & S21 depending on the lighting and personal preference both deliver great quality video & photo. But I'm just wondering: if this is the Pixel 6 Pro vs the S21, would that mean the s21 ultra would have stronger cameras or be the true competitor with the pixel 6 pro? Would definitely be interested to see the pixel 6 vs the 21 & pixel pro vs the s21 ultra (or just get other opinions). Keep doin what you do, awesome videos + new subscriber. ✌🏽

@@Carolinaelz It depends on what ecosystem you like. Samsung has more options to play with and it has a full system of cameras. Pixel can easily get you by if you need the basics.

I don't understand... The pixel use to have the best portrait photos. Now, Samsung and apple has surpassed them (mainly with edge detection).
I hope Google can tweak and improve the software as time goes on

Thanks. Pixel good resolution. The portrait pixel is slightly offset in some photos. The two phones are different and the two phones are slightly different in details.

Based on the photos show in the video, most of the times I see pixels photo are more vibrant, bright, in details and more pop up.

My personal I go with pixel for some security and lite bit of privacy. I give my data to the wolf not sharing with google and samsung. Or Apple. My opinion is move away from jersey and NY. Go to PA N Carolina , S Carolina or Texas. Thanks for review

What makes it difficult is that this is the baked-in Samsung software whereas I think Google will tweak theirs given some of the less than stellar reviews that show certain scenes that seem to 'trick' their sensor. In other words, I don't think the camera performance in the Pixel is what it will be in a few months time.
Omg, the pixel 6 pro's 4x telephoto destroyed samsung's 10x. That's something very impressive 👏
This one is regular S21, not Ultra, therefore the comparison was between 4x on the Pixel and 3x on the Galaxy.
Samsung s21 have old s20 sensor.
The Pixel 6 pro have 50MP GN1, 48MP & 12MP.
I still feel if the pixel pro should've been priced at $599. We got enough 1k phones. To me this is a real mid range phone.
No outright winner in photos though the S21U has better hardware adding a macro lens and 10x zoom, so Samsung more versatile if those features are needed. The Pixel had better detail on photos but for most viewing these photos they will not be looking for those finer details, hence both are close.
The video in daylight looks fine on both but low-light and darker sets are what will test these out? I feel that the leap we expected with all the hype is far from reality. Pixel is no longer ahead of the pack, but remain in the Top 5 in photography, but the s21U and other phones are now closer than ever to the Pixel 6 so a bit disappointed TBH.
Wow the bokeh on the Pixel is comically OTT and unrealistic, the baby Galaxy S matches up very well.
Damn the pixel 6 video is so jittery compared to the Samsung. That’s like a deal breaker 🥲
It is a pity that S21 died after 3 years of use.
I think the pixel has lost its ability to be called the best camera on a smartphone, it is easily matched by Samsung and apple nowadays.
