      They’re virtually the same amp. Classic is just more power and got more drive potential I feel on its own. Where as the studio sig needs a boost to get that grit

    • @Ganache30
      @Ganache30 4 роки тому +1

      @@keithremedy They have very similar architecture, but the CRS and the Sterling Silver are the only two Two Rocks that have an active EQ. That makes a pretty large difference. Studio Sig has a passive tone stack, so it's a bit more traditional in its flavour.

      @@keithremedy Hi Keith, so after having owned a CRS for three years, I bought a Studio Sig, and I can 100% say it’s not a baby CRS. The feel is very different. The CRS has way more bounce and snap and just sounds bigger. The CRS, even though it’s a bigger amp, sounds so much better at low volumes too. I’d say the Studio Sig, to me at least, feels closer to a Studio Pro. Better than a Studio Pro for sure, but it’s not even close to the CRS. Sorry to disappoint anyone who thought they were getting a CRS with less headroom; you're not. You’re getting a more dynamic, more open, greater tweak-ability Studio Pro. Still a big upgrade if you ask me. But if your want a CRS, you’re going to have to pay for it. And you won’t be unhappy; far and away the best clean amp I’ve played.

      @@Ganache30 no disappointment, it ‘s always good to hear more feedback. Personally I will be ok with your conclusion, I had a studio pro 35 plus, and it was already perfect for me and for level I’m playing (I know my limitations). Unfortunately I sold it but now I want to buy the studio signature to get again the cleans I loved. I don’t have needs for a CRS, I’m just playing at home, so a CRS would be way overkill for my skill level. The fact we even discuss about it, tend to let me think that the studio sig will already be great on its own, regardless how close it is from the CRS. It has Two-Rock DNA anyway, it’s not like comparing it with a Mesa or Marshall.

    I just recently stumbled upon Peach Guitars in my quest to learn more about Two Rock. You guys have some of the best sounding demos period. Simply amazing tones! Great playing from all, but Jack is off the charts! Would you mind sharing what microphones and other gear you used to capture the sound of this recording? Seriously outstanding, and glorious! Now I just have to decide whether to get a combo, or a head. I would really love the simplicity of a combo for carrying to gigs, but I typically purchase heads so I can have the flexibility of swapping out cabinets if I want to alter the tone a bit. Any advice that might help me make my decision? Thanks so much!

    I own this amp, and it's bloody amazing and a big step up from the Studio Pro 35, which I owned as well. It's more dynamic, more open, better tweakable.
    However, the reverb circuit isn't as good imo.

    • @lucasbarnes8035
      @lucasbarnes8035 5 років тому

      What makes it a "big step up" over the SP35? It just seems an SP35 repackaged to me. The switches are pull pots on the SP, the presence is the contour control. I dont get what's new?

    • @jsentilles
      @jsentilles 5 років тому +1

      @@lucasbarnes8035 The feature set hasn't drastically changed but the preamp has been revoiced. It's basically a mini-Classic Reverb Sig. If you play an old SP35 and a new classic reverb you'll notice a pretty big difference. The same could be said for the SP35 and Studio signature. I'm not sure if that constitutes a big step up but I think fans of the brand are much happier with the new offering by comparison. It's more open sounding and the gain structure is a big deal to people who want flexibility in tone.

    • @prspastor

      Bobby B I think it is very open with swirling cleans. More clean harmonics than SP. Different voicing. The three gain structures are like having three different amps too.

    I’ve a small h&k tm112 cab which I have upgraded with a Celestion 12” gold speaker. This mainly for house use. How do you think this amp would sound through it? Seriously considering a purchase. Shame you are so damn far away from me to come and try one. :-(
    I should say I’ll be using the amp with a band and with some boutique pedals. At rehearsals and live I’ll be playing into a 4x12 and use a fender Princeton 68 RI as a stereo pair.

      This is a open back, honestly they’re very similar. Closed back is a little more focused bass response where as the open back has a bass that really rings out. Some people may not even notice the difference. Two Rocks output is so much more then other Amps that even the combos sound bigger then most amps that are cabbed.

    • @Ganache30
      @Ganache30 4 роки тому

      You can’t. It’s the midrange. This is not even close to a CRS. It’s closer in DNA to a Studio Pro. I’ve owned a Studio Pro, a new CRS and the Studio Sig. Traditional Clean is your best bet for Mayer tones.

    • @colaboytje
      @colaboytje 5 років тому

      As I owned the SP35 and now this amp, I may give my opinion.
      Because they added their custom taper pots, and their new transformers, and added the multiple gain structures, and instead of having pull-push pots, having actual switches, the amp has improved a lot. It's more open, more dynamic, better tweakable. I always found the SP35 a bit difficult to dial in, because of the push-pull pots, and because of the loop level 'master', making things more complicated. Everything influenced each other. This amp is better in the way that it's more straight-forward to dial in. Everything at noon is how I set it. It sounds great just like that. The master on this amp is better as well.
      I can't decide whether you should get this one, but selling my SP35, which grabs a great amount in the second-hand market, made the decission easy for me.
