I usually am a loyal Virgin customer, but if Rex is under half the price, with the same or better standard for in-flight service, it might be worth switching !

Although just an FYI - while the cakes/desserts are made in a café in Sydney, the main meals actually come frozen from the Gate Gourmet airline catering facility - which other airlines use as well. Airline catering companies know what to put in the meals to make them taste nicer and how to preserve them! ;)
Yeah and these specialist caterers for airlines factor in how air travel dampens your sense of taste and smell when prepping your hot meals and make sure they seem fresh after reheating by the crew ( stoves are not allowed on planes after all).
Another very impressive experience with this new airline, it beats our UK Domestic Club experience with BA at the moment! Hopefully you’ll try their new routes in April - can’t wait! 👍

Travelled alot on Virgin in that Business Class and it is surprising how comfortable it is, plus if you sit in the aisle seat you get to see inside the cockpit when cabin crew open the door which is awesome. I'm 6'3" so I am particularly interested in the leg room side of things. Jet star economy Airbus a380 isle seat with people(shorter by the way) with their seat leaning back with my feet in the aisles going in and out for staff and toilet frequenters is my bottom end of the scale. Where as a $35 mystery flight from Brisbane to Melbourne while getting to go into the cockpit,then called back up to sit there in the middle for landing back in 1999 still makes me squeal like a birthday girl. Especially the looks on snooty business class passengers faces upon exiting was well worth my $35. What in your travels are your best and worst experiences?
I agree. I've flown with Rex plenty of times from Cunnamulla to Brisbane, and back again. The staff are friendly and know how to take care of their passengers. I forget the plane they use for our region but it only seats about 36. They service our area twice weekly (Sunday's & Wednesday's) Brisbane- Wellcamp- St George- Cunnamulla- Thargomindah, and then turn around and do the same stops back to Brisbane. Can't really complain, it's great that they actually service little regional towns like ours 😊
Great video, you captured the customer experience very well. For some viewers your video will be the only one they'll see. Pease include all details, don't cite someone else's video when you could have provided the information. Nice reflection in the Melbourne terminal window. Cracked wine plastic (not glass) & unclean slide-out drink table, small areas where REX needs to improve on their attention to detail. 👍
Wow . Thank u. Over 40 years ago, travelling to Melbourne from Sydney with economy seating, we were always served a lovelybfresh hot meal with a bread roll, sliced cheese and dessert. Plus drink and tea or coffee. Now you only get served this in business class. Incredible. Sad.
Well I have never had a full tray service in domestic economy class in Australia haha This may not up to a pre-covid business class meal standard but do keep in mind that they only charge $199 for business class, virgin and Qantas charge $700 on their business class.
This is nothing new with Rex, emergency services scrambled for Rex is a daily occurrence around the country. They get those jets from graveyards and put new paint on them, the propeller planes are vintage from the 80s/90s. Only a matter of time before something serious with this mob...
The Melbourne airport check in is where the old tiger check in was. Just a tip during the bits of video where you have to point the camera away eg check in desk. It would be better to cut that bit out of the video.
