thanks for uploading this video! Exactly what I needed! How tall is this plant? Does it have to be at a certain age? I'm buying my first bulk of podocarpus plants soon (50 about 2 feet tall) and 4 about 4 feet tall but I am unsure if I should wait until they are more mature. I want to propagate as many as possible lol.
I tried in water it did not work for me. I use soil even than it's 50/50. If use rooting hormone, the success rate is higher. It's hard to propagate this plant. I will try air layering soon.
I got one of these from a local plant store, and my pot has 6 stems, all of them are growing but one is tall than the others. Should I separate them? I’m not too sure what the roots look like so I don’t know how connected they are. They range from about 4.in to 7.in tall. I’m new to growing plants so I’m not sure what to do, any help is appreciated, thanks!
Hi, if it's individual separate plant and not connected, you can separate and repot in different pot. But if you like the way it is growing now, then you don't have to separate it. It's alright to remove pot and check the root, it won't harm the plant.
Hi. I am from Malaysia. The name of this plant is Podocarpus Macrophyllus. If you go to nursery you can try asking by common name are Yew Pine or Buddhist Pine, Luóhàn Sōng or Fern Pine. If you are from Malaysia, I have this plant for sale. You can message me via my Shopee shop shopee.com.my/puchongplants
Would it facilitate rooting if you dip the cut end in rooting hormone before you place in starter medium…and, could that medium be just sphagnum moss only? Thank you for the short vid - it was brief and to the point without all the fussy egocentric chatter A LOT of other you-tubers bore their viewers with! Goodonya!
I love your description of how nature really works !!! Thank you !!!!!
So nice of you. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing beautiful and amazing plants
Thank you Jillian

That's nice. I think it's best if you wait a little longer. Once they grow bigger, it will have more branches, then you can take many cuttings.🙂
Nice upload.
Thank you
Nice vidio where is this place?
Thank you for the video. Can it be water propagated?

@@PlantZoneI tried water propagation and it took me almost 3 months for root to grow

Thank you for the video. What is the soil mix to use ?
I mostly use yellow plain hill topsoil. You can use any unmixed pure garden -soil that does not contain any add on like fertilizer, compost etc.
Any Black Sand.
Any soil that's no added fertilizer will work fine.
@@PlantZoneIs it called called tanah bakar ?

Hi, may i know if we can put the cuttings into water for rooting?
Hi, based on my experience it's very difficult to root in water. It's best work with rooting hormone.
@@PlantZone okay, thanks for your advice!
So good
Thank you
Do I need to put rooting powder ?
Yes, putting rooting powder can increase the chances for the cutting to produce root compare without rotting powder.
Can you propagate from big branches?
Yes I Did 3 And 4 Feet.
Sir, what kind of soil did you use? Thanks.
I use yellow topsoil. But you can use any raw natural garden soil that is not mixed with any fertilizer.
Thank you 👍🏻😋
