I just tried this out at guitar center today after months of searching and setting my heart on a sterling music man. Played this and it blew me away!! The punch, the bold clarity of the tone is beautiful. Thought I was a musicman type of guy but this bass is hidden gem. I’m buying it asap
When I switched from guitar to bass about 15 years ago, I got that Schecter's 6-string brother - same color and everything! Love that bass. Definitely heavy but it's been good to me through all parts of the learning curve. I'm looking at finally picking up a Fender Jazz 5 for a bit of a change in tone and string count. Johnny thanks so much for sharing all the great demos, especially the ones showing off Fralin pickups! Cheers and be well!
Good stuff! But to do it justice, we need to hear the amp mic'd!! Blessings and prayers! Eph. 6! 😎👍 This is my first visit to your channel, and I subscribed. I'm at a brand new newbie bassist as of this summer, and I'm on a steep learning curve playing at church every sunday. Trying to learn everything I can as fast as I can, so I'm going to check out everything you have. Have a blessed week!
After watching for one on ebay and reverb for 2 years nothing happened. Digging JLL jamming on schecter stiletto studio 5 ("Can you say FURNITURE"?) I kept waiting. FINALLY a guy on Facebook Marketplace had one. BANG! Now she's MINE! Thanks for your killer reviews and bass lessons. CUZZ THATS WHAT I LIKE!
I’ve been preaching about schecter basses ever since I tried one of their lower range basses a few years bass. Absolutely amazing. Now I have a stiletto studio custom 4, which is the bolt on version of this same bass. Same pickups, preamp, and woods as far as I’m aware. Such a great sounding bass. The only big issue I have is that the neck bowed so bad when I first got it, and especially after I set it up for BEAD. But if you just keep tuning the strings and give the truss rod a look here and there, it stays pretty straight and has given me very few issues since. I’m looking at getting a 5 or 6 string of the Studio just because the bolt on version blew me away. For 700 bucks new it’s probably the best bass out there. People sleep on schecter hard cuz they market to the rocker and metalhead crowds, but you can get so many sounds out of it that I doubt there’s nothing you can do with the right EQ and strings. I might just throw some rounds on there for the hell of it at some point.
I love basses, well actually all examples of, the tone with a straight through neck, especially if they are full scale. Maybe I am just addicted to that high G on a bass 🔊
HAB ..... MERCY!!!! 😳 That Schecter Is AWESOME!!! 6 Years Ago I Was Going To Buy One But ....... The Neck Was A Little Too Thick For My Hands 😢 So I Bought A Ibanez SR505 Instead.
Man I had this exact bass and I knew it was special for a not so high end bass and I sold it like a fool. I wish I never sold it so who ever I sold it to sell it back now I didn’t know any better. Ha
Thundercat's bass also sports the EMG HZs .. it seems HZs shine.. but if the instrument is "no good" HZs cannot save them.. and thus IMO the bad rap HZs get..
Hi, great video on this bass. I think about getting a schecter stiletto studio 5. Do they have stable necks or would I need to adjust them a lot? I ask because they don't have reinforced necks. Maybe you could share your experience regarding that. Thanks!
You are amazing, totally enjoyed this video. I definitely want one. I would be honored if you check out my original music channel (missing a real bass currently, hehe). Keep on keepin' on, the Jedi knows...
If all Christians were like you there would be twice as many. You’re an inspiration.
