An unusual toy from the Japanese toy company TOMY. Bought in France back in the 1970s. It is a bit like a tunnelling machine, with rotating wheels with cogs at the front. It will 'tunnel' its way though the inside of a corrugated plastic tube.
Secondly, The Magic Robot. Pop the robot on the question side of the box, and point the robot's stick towards a question. Then lift the robot up and place it on the mirror at the centre of the answers, and the robot will rotate to show the correct answer. Magnets are involved, but I am sure you knew that!
Finally, a toy Tim bought in 1986 in Japan. It consists of the small boxing ring, with a central spindle which is magnetic. Set the spindle spinning and add two or more metal snakes. As they whizz to and fro, eventually snakes get shot out of the ring, until there is a winner! - Наука та технологія
The Tunneler looks really fun, but it's a proper assault on the ears.
So true fiddlesticks
I think the gears are slipping. I have vague memories of one of these from my childhood... I think one of my older cousins had one. I the remember it being quiet.
sounds like mice fighting…believe me, it’s not a fun sound 😱
@@Netbugscraping to get power from the motor to the sprocket or whatever moves it?
This is definitely not the video for headphones lol
Tim reminds me of my grandfather who sadly passed away back in 2021 but he was the best and funniest grandpa anyone could ever ask for.
May he rest in peace 🙏
I'm glad you had him! That sounds awesome even though more years with him would have been better.
Happy new year to everyone in Grand Illusions team and to all the subscribers and enjoyers of this wonderful channel!
If this man doesn't live forever care free I'm going to become a villain
Wow, I remember having that Magic Robot! Haven't thought of it for almost 40 years but the memories comes back to me now!
Only a couple of days left until we get to see a new intro!
I just saw you in the t1glistener UA-cam stream earlier tf, small world
Good taste
@@zaaya7719 Oh wow, hi! I guess it tracks with the theme of wholesome (grand)father figure content
thank goodness….i honestly dislike this one
This one is great compared to the one that has very high pitch sounds in the background lol.@@bostonrailfan2427
one of the last gems of my childhood
My older brother had the Magic Robot for Christmas in the early sixties. I remember it well. 😊
That Magic Robot is amazing
My grandparents had that magnet game. It fascinated me as a kid
I had such a robot in the sixties! Unfortunately, I figured out pretty quickly how it worked - and that was the end of the fun (and the magic).
Did it use a 1:1 gear ratio? It would've been cool if it didn't, so the answers would be a bit "scrambled"
@@Gna-rn7zx Can't remember exactly, but the offset for each question was the same - that I'm sure of.
Haven't checked this channel in a while, I'm so happy Tim's still going
Sounds like me connecting to the series of tubes that is the internet in the year 2000
I used to have a version of the second one when I was smaller. Anyway, happy New Year Tim and the rest of the Gr4and Illusions team!!!
Happy New Year! Thanks for sharing these fun toys and things!
I had the magic robot as a kid, Thanks for reminding me.
MY GOODNESS!! I want that Magic Robot Quiz game!!!!
Amazing toys, especially the magic robot
Happy New year Tim and Co :)
Japanese toys are amazing!
About the magic robot. I remember this when I was in preschool. There's the book version (I can't remember the title), but I never used it. I didn't even know how to use that. But sadly, the magnet has been thrown away... I still had a book.
Young kids would love the tunneling toy.
3:00 "Unter den Linden" 👍 😸 🇩🇪
Very awesome gadget toys
i love watching tim when im sleepy/waking up. but my gravy was the aidio in this rough
I wonder if any of the engineers that created these toys happen upon Tim's channel and see his sheer delight at their life's work.
Greetings from Poland 🇵🇱👍
Love the boxing ring toy!!!
Jolly good mechanisms for mirth.
happy new years tim
Happy new Year!
geez, i thought my headphones just broke
What is this wonderful man doing now?
0:51 HEAVY MOLE!?
I had the strangest sense of deju vu looking at the magic robot. I'm sure I've seen it before.
Nice
Great
Aha! Choral singing is amazingly good for the health, as I'm sure most people know, both physical and psychological.
These are all great! Anyone remember 'Battling Tops' from the 1970s? Happy New Year to you Tim, and all supporters of Grand Illusions. ⭐👍
that snake toy is nails on a chalk board
Happy new year, thanks as always Tim, I think that tunneller was quite popular with hamas too😂😂😂
BRO why is this only at 670 likes come on we need more
Grandy Nice 💛
Xrated toys at the end of the year.🤣
40 years later, it still works...holy cow...
"What is the capital of Romania?" ... Tim throwing shade at a whole country :D
I'm curious, do you have a Dungeons&Dragons themed suitcase?
Got a question for you
so glad this opening is being retired…i normally don’t care about them but this one soured on me
What?
@@terraversalvoid5391 it didn’t age well with me, the new one next week should be different
Yay top 20
Who else thought it was a Lemmiwinks toy!
OMG, only japanese could think of something like that.
Okay hear me out
Yay I'm early
Please ask Tim what football club does he support
He seems like a Leicester supporter
he’s from Surrey but lives in Twickenham…so tough to figure.
Tim has never actually been to a football match, but he did do a show once for Pat Rice's children, so maybe put him - very loosely - as an Arsenal supporter!
That first toy hurt my ears. Nezt time you should film the toy and then talk over thr toy if it makes such a horrible noise, or give a warning to headphone users.
first?
